It really hasn't turned out that bad. That's the mangled side. Going to bolt it all down, make sure it sits square then pull it off to paint and smooth the edges. I'm confident that when it's riveted in place it really isn't going to look that shit.

Weighed too much, didn't actually fit, didn't actually work, was about 3'' lower than the actual roof line because it dropped down and the glass then went inside a cage within the car, it leaked a LOT and it was horrible and almost impossible to fit a headlining too. I'm really not convinced the roof is going to be as absolutely annihilated as everyone thought. It isn't pretty paint wise, but my dad is fairly handy with body hammers. He's beat it pretty straight, and my blanking plate turned out much better than I thought it would. By the time this is body coloured, bolted in place and fully fitting the roof line I think it isn't going to look all that shit. I am going to bolt it in place tomorrow and use a little instant gasket to make it water tight, then I'll pull it off and paint it this weekend.

Uncharacteristic I know, but I've actually measured something, accurately marked it out, divided spacing equally and all the hole markings line up and are uniform. If I can keep this up until Thursday and successfully hold a drill without putting a hole in the bonnet or something stupid I might actually be able to drive my car on Thursday afternoon.

Hilarious story. The person selling it doesn't actually own it; and the person who owns it hasn't paid the guy who did a load of work on it. So the guy who did a load of work on it has it sat outside his unit and won't give it back until it's sold. The unit it is sat outside is owned by the guy fitting my roll cage. I'll avoid getting involved in this one.

I have purchased a new roof, and acquired a fitter of said roof in exchange for a cup of coffee. However, the seller of the roof wants me to buy his full shell, which already has Brembis, mega suspension, roll bars, adjustable lower arms, camber top plates, a roll cage, seats, bias valve and new lines, wide track everything. For less than buying a cage and fitting it. Same color as my Mk2, but mint.
