  1. There's loads better out there, there are kids busking on the street that would wipe the floor with a huge amount of big name musicians. Listen to them live, then google any generic talent young kid. Don't get me wrong, he's f**k loads better than I'll ever be and I'm far from saying they are shit. But comparatively speaking, they're social standing and the message they were (and still are by all accounts) broadcasting far outshadowed their musical talent. Also, lol Sam way to take what I've said and push its proportion boundaries into a different continent. I'm only stating that I'm not as ignorant on the subject as you guys were making out and that based on that let's all just back down and move on. I don't like being belittled as much as you guys don't like my opinion on music. I'd never go to Burma on a gap year either, apparently steak is more expensive than gold in Burma. And I couldn't live without steak.
  2. Dude, I have every Pink Floyd album from the piper at the gates of dawn to the division bell as well as all of the compilation and live albums. I have early Syd Barrett albums as well as David Gilmores solo albums. They are by far my favorite band of all time, when my dad was recovering from a stroke for three years I used to spend every evening playing Pink Floyd to him. I've been listening to The Clash since I was old enough to understand the words (thanks dad!), however if that mainstream commercial bollocks is your thing then fair play. Personally I stopped listening to them when I discovered bands like the Talking Heads and The Damned for that sort of genre. If you genuinely want some suggestions and a proper chat about the 60's to 80's progression of that genre then drop me a PM, because I have a huge catalogue of albums most of which I've got saved on my laptop from a vinyl converter which I'll happily compress and send you. Many of which are non commercial or unreleased, but still by the big names. I like good* music, I don't like the monotone shite that is Nirvana. I used to when I was young, then I discovered better* music. I'm not blindly talking bullshit, this is coming from somebody who has studied percussion and music production at the ACM (Academy Of Contemporary Music) for over 18 months, played alongside Enter Shikari in battle of the bands as well as countless live gigs and playing at weekly jam sessions at various venues, has been an avid drummer for the past 10 years and likes everything from baroque classics to deathcore, from dubstep to blues. So put your personal judgment stick back in it's box because it is not necessary. You can say that whatever you wrote isn't meant at me, but seeing as this thread has turned into a "look at how much of a dick he is" it clearly is. People saying I clearly don't know what RATM stood for and am talking shit, you've misunderstood my point and are capitalizing on a poorly written post. I am MORE than aware of who RATM wanted to be, the social image they purveyed and the things they stood for as a band. You forget I was alive kicking when RATM were coming into their stride, and although it didn't mean anything to me at the time I was more than aware of their music and who they were. The point I am making is that RATM didn't give a f**k about the media's perception of them because they were writing and performing for a cause which they (and millions of fans) believed in. Regardless of negativity, press and prosecutions they rarely let their side down and stood true to their beliefs from start to finish. Which is proven by them screaming "f**k you I won't do what you tell me" over and over again on a live broadcast on 5 Live which was probably their biggest chance to get back into the UK for years. RATM as a band were not very good, in terms of ability and talent technically speaking they were poor musicians. Where they made a name for themselves was in their political views and activism, the music was a byproduct and without the content and stigma attached to RATM I'm sure they wouldn't have been anywhere near the success they were. However, for in 2009 the christmas number one to be a tune written years back as a more accessible means of social activism, I think that's a great message. Nirvana couldn't and wouldn't have done that, apart from pushing alternative music forwards and some crazy tour antics what have Nirvana got to shout about. As far as I'm aware, not much. But I'd love to be proved wrong! Their image was only that old people wouldn't like their music, and that many people hadn't heard that sort of music before. They were just the social and commercial kickstart to a type of person and music which had existed for years. Nothing revolutionary like RATM, not many bands have made the political stand they have either before or after their time. Their lack of care for the majority opinion on them and the media's representation was what I am saying they didn't give a f**k about, as said they were just using their music as a vehicle for a slightly more acceptable and accessible social activism. As long as the appropriate people got the message they didn't care about whoever elses ears it fell on. My point on Dave Grohl is ill-founded in your eyes, probably not appropriate and a difficult one to explain. Personally I CANNOT stand the guy, for all the reasons I have said. He is a talented song writer, and probably an all round good guy. Otherwise I've found him to be the weak link in every single band he's been in other than Foo Fighters who were very good and incredibly versatile. I've just always found him a bit wet and generally not as good as the hype, he is a brilliant songwriter and I wish he would stick to that. I am clearly educated on the subject, there are clearly truths in my opinions and I clearly understand a LOT more about music than you guys are suggesting. So back down, jog on and leave it. Because it'll only lead to tears and everybody will wish they never said a word. (trust me, I'm already at that point.) Also, lol I am a TOTAL chav. *denoted personal opinion
  3. You LOVED it, douche just didn't cut it.
  4. Did you even look at my join date? I was on this forum before you were, on my original account. It's hardly trolling, you came back to an hours old argument that everybody had left. Don't be an ass hat.
  5. The argument died hours ago, nobody cares. The door is that way >
  6. Forums are exactly that, a forum. So as long as I stick within the rules I can say what I want, I am not aiming anything I say at any single user on this forum. But some how you guys can turn it round and make it personal, I don't care because you are just names on a screen to me now. But have a think about the way you say things and wether your arguments are with me personally or my opinions on a third party. As with every person on this forum who has met me we are good friends, it's only the keyboard warriors and the same faces who have slated me for years. I don't like Dave Grohl I haven't liked any of the bands he has been in apart from QOTSA and have always found him a bit wet. That is my opinion, if you don't like it then challenge my opinion. Don't go giving me shit about who you think I am.
  7. Haha I'll stick to the car thread where my opinions are valid and informed lol.
  8. Yeah, sounds super sweet. Make a shit load of money out of being a publicity loving, fanboy sellout. Don't get me wrong, I'm green with envy and if I was in his position I'd be loving it. I just hate the way the guy has done it all, he has absolutely 0 integrity. Which if you are going to be in bands like Nirvana, QOTSA, Foo Fighters and all the other 30 odd bands he's played in which are trying to sell a message it'd be nice if your message didn't change every week. One week it's save the Africans and drive a Toyota Prius, the next week it's kill em all in a QOTSA tour, then the next week go back to your Prius to try and keep a good image. RATM, they didn't give a f**k, and stood true from the start to finish on their career and that's what they based it on. Meh', I'm drunk. Night Rbizzle. x
  9. I don't care, the bloke's a fanny. I bet he earnt more money out of that "free" garage tour in publicity than you will do in 5 years of your working life.
  10. Nirvana were shit then and they're shit now, f**k Nirvana for Christmas number one I'd rather listen to Olly Murrs. The whole point of RATM being number one was the message, f**k you I won't do what you tell. Well f**k you I won't put another penny in Dave Grohls never ending deep pocket, if it wasn't for QOTSA that hapless goon would be as bad as Tony Hawk IMO. A softcore, has-been drip of a middle age mans gimp sellout idol. THIS is why RATM deserved to be #1 (skip to 8:35 for the fun)- Dave Grohl, probably wouldn't get out of bed for less than a mill. RATM WANTED to spread the message, and were happy to shoot themselves in the foot to stand up for what they wanted.
  11. Resolutions are for people who don't like aspects of their life, which is gay. New year goals and ambitions however, I plan on being a cigar connoisseur by the end of next year. If I can tell where a cigar was rolled by it wrapper I'll be happy. About 4 of my mates are doing the same, so we'll have some motivation for when it undoubtedly gets very boring.
  12. Yeah sorry, I hardly do it justice when my maths fails so epicly
  13. 5 years Oli We all miss you.
  14. If I could stop listening to this shit my life would be loads better.

Have you not seen a picture of me Mark? I literally AM Vettel.

Or maybe they should drive better. I understand a fair amount of it is down to the cars, but without that sort of domination motorsport wouldn't evolve at the rate it does.

Yeah, I can't wait for Brazil! It's always the best race of the year To be honest, I hope Vettel comes back and does the same next year. He is so talented, and unlike Hamilton he isn't a dick lol!

Totally, but I am sure you agree that's what would have happened?

    So gutted Vettel is out!!
  21. Specialized Storm Control tires are by far the best all round tires I have ever used, and super cheap. I used to get them for £6 trade! What a lot of people don't know is Specialized tires have a guarantee and are covered by a full warranty. If you buy them and think they are a waste of money Specialized will refund them. I used to run them on this - MBR use Storm's on all of their demo bikes. Otherwise I would still stick with Spesh' tires, a Purgatory is a good tire. Or for fast XC a captain control front and renegade rear = immense.
