  1. As far as I can tell they are about £400 depending on the year, I am hoping to put a good but used plated one on which will be less than £150. The bracelet will be roughly £280, because the current one isn't genuine. The glass is £110 because that is off a different watch and the rebuild will be £250. It is hardly cheap but if this watch isn't fixed now I will never do it, and I don't want to lose it.
  2. Haha, I was waiting for somebody to say that.
  3. I have decided that it would be a much nicer idea to have my Rolex rebuilt rather than purchasing a new watch. My dad gave me the Rolex after all so it has huge value to me. I package it up and sent it off to a specialist in the Midlands today, I am worried about it and just hope nothing goes wrong with it. I took some pictures so I can have a nice before and after. I haven't worn it for a while and the date had stuck I am going to get it repolished and have the glass replaced, as well as the movement reassembled and springs retensioned. It needs a new dial trim ring too, I cannot afford a solid silver one so I am opting for plated. I hope it matches!
  4. 1.6td from the Passat into the Scirocco. Scrap/break/sell Passat.
  5. With ET's like that you shouldn't need any spacers at all.
  6. Did you actually read that last one though? What a crock of shit. E-Types are NOT gay!
  7. My mum is picking up her new 500 today, well excited!
  8. True true, but I've not got anything which is really nice and I have wanted a watch for a while. Now seems like a great time to do it. I have inherited premium bonds, so I would like to withdraw some and keep the rest as a sensible thing. I went into town this morning and went to a couple of shops, tried a couple of tag's in Goldsmith and left with my heart set on a Carrera and thought I was going to either have to wait a couple more month and save or to just do the rest on 6 months interest free. I bumped into a mate of mine in town and he took me across to some pokey old clock repair shop and said he knew there was some nice bits in there. The guy had a 1997 Omega Sea Master which had been refurbished with genuine Omega parts by an Omega dealer and he had taken it in payment for a grandmother clock. It was really really nice to be fair, much classier than the Tag's I had tried in Goldsmiths and on a par with the Carrera. It's a fair amount cheaper too, he wants £800 for it which is a fair price from my 20 min's of phone research. My only worry is that I don't like the design of the hands, they look a bit clumsy. Either way, I'm going to have a chat with my mate who's into watches and see what he thinks. I wanted a new watch really, but if I can get something better for less then I'm into that. And I have been told SeaMasters are going up in value and are seen as a "classic"?
  9. The long and short of it is I have inherited a small amount of money and would like to spend it on something that I am not going to forget about tthat will stay with me and be a nice reminder. There is no ego massaging going on. I'm going into town today so I will report back then, having slept on it I think I would like something a bit nicer than an F1. I would he very happy with a reconditioned Omega Sea Master or Carrera.
  10. The F1 is just something I've always wanted; now you've said it is a bit chavy though it has lost a little of it's appeal. I don't want to feel as though I have spent a grand on a watch that I don't actually want because it isn't a Carrera. (which is what I REALLY want) I'm thinking it might be best to go into a jewelers and just try and wing it as best I can. I've spotted "Iconicwatches" have got a healthy chunk off an Aquaracer, and I could get one for just within my maximum budget. But I don't really want to order through them because I have heard lots of bad things. http://www.iconicwatches.co.uk/tag-heuer-aquaracer-wan2110-ba0822.html?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=google_shopping&utm_campaign=google_shopping I'm going to go to town tomorrow I think and get my heart set on a watch and then go from there, I'm feeling a bit uneasy about F1's now it's got to the pinnacle of the buying process. I've been rocking my dads Rolex Datejust Oyster for the last 6 months which despite being a high quality watch is still 40 years old and looks dated, the mainspring has weakened and it stops when left over night. He gave it to me because of that, but now I am going to resign it to a draw until I can afford to service and replace the spring. It's never been serviced in it's life; and dad has had it for 40 years.
  11. What do you mean; how can I justify buying the watch? Doesn't matter to you does it JT
  12. Evening all. I want a Tag Formula 1, where's the best place to buy? I have done a fair bit of googling and the cheapest I can find is £1229, even if I got 10% off RRP it is still £130. But I can't find anything near what I want to pay. £1000 is my target price and what I can justify. I remember at Christmas last year Goldsmiths were doing Carrera's for £1495 on 12 month interest free; would I be better waiting a month or two and scooping up a deal? Do jewlers ususlly do big headline deals at Christmas to tempt people up to buying something of that value? Or do they hold the price for high demand? I am a bit confused to be honest. This is my first proper watch and I don't want to cock it up and miss a trick. Thanks
  13. What a f**king mong tard. I thought this was for today and just bought a case for my phone that I didn't actually want lol
  14. If they are genuine then they are Type 3 Racing and do split. http://www.ac-schnitzer.co.uk/bmw_wheels.htm Ac stopped making them a while ago, so doubt there will be much luck direct. Somebody on WheelWhores would know. I would personally just throw a rep on it. Prawn/I/my missus/many friends have had reps for years and for road use they are fine.
  15. Are they genuine? If so then they are split. HOWEVER a new Schnitzer rim will be more than a decent second hand wheel.
  16. It's dead bro, I wouldn't run it under any circumstances.
  17. £250? Probably what it's worth needing a cambelt and water pump.
  18. Exactly, it can only get more awesome.
  19. In all fairness the sun does shin out of Niki's arse. He is a hero. I will still be fitting one though, because it is how I know it and keeps the engine bay familair. I am thinking of painting the rest bumper and lower portion of the boot today, just to make it look tip top from the back. What's the worst that can happen
  20. Either way, with the hose off it sounds badass. Prawns old daily used to sound immense with a yellow spring, proper mix of stall and dump. I want that I like having the FMIC in, it's what I'm used to. No engine cover, I hate them. It's just one extra thing to take off every time you wan to do something, not only that but having it on is an awesome way of keeping everything under the engine cover hotter than they need to be. I don't want roasting coil packs and splitting coil wires. I had a custom painted one old the last A3, that wasn't too bad to be fair. But all the holes/dimples in it had been drilled so in my mind the made up problem of heat retention was sorted. Coldside kits are made of win, as long as you have an intercooler that works. On a dyno they make little sense because the pissy little fmic's people buy off ebay heat soak within two runs. But on the road with a constant stream of cool air they do an epic job, and they look great and keep the DV healthy for longer. Go out for a nail in the LCR and then try and grab your DV, it'll be hot as f**k. Like 70*. EVAP/charcoal canister went ages ago. Found these pictures of the Audi when we first got it, lol for standard car!
  21. I got it to flutter just fine, disconnected the vacuum hose lol Thinking about getting Dan to build me a K04 hybrid out of one of Nicks old K03's. £500 for the snail, and it'll be good for 300bhp with a maf, injectors and K04 TIP. That said I'm watching a Forge actuator on ebay and do fancy maxing out the K03 because it just makes so little sense but is so rewarding. Of cause it does, look at all that mangly pube looking like hoses and shit above the turbo and around the charge pipe. It looks turd and makes it impossible to do anything with the manifold. I want another coldside relocation kit too. But it's all many pennies I don't have at the moment. Not sure if I can be arsed to clean them in an ultra sonic bath, I might use Prawns when I go home I dunno. But it is just annoying as f**k and sounds like arse when you open the bonnet.
  22. Nope! I never really liked this car, because it's just a dull car to drive. Feels totally standard in terms of power delivery, and other than a dump valve it just feels like a totally stock A3 but a lot quicker. IMO any A3 that isn't stage 2 or higher is gay. It's all there in this one, it just needs a front mount fitting and the mapping probably won't cost me more than a pack of hobnobs; just wasn't any point doing it for Lou
  23. I hear the stories about that f**king Capri on a daily basis; it's all she ever goes on about when I tell her she can't drive. "I beat Prawns once blah blah blah" And I'm like..."Yeah, because Prawn didn't turn up love." - In other news I've been playing with the Audi. I've got all the bits set for a service at the weekend, I bought a 007p rebuild kit and spring set for it and rebuilt the dump valve tonight so now it goes fwapshshsh but I want it to flutter a little bit more so I'm still going to need to play with it. I'll be putting Nick's old front mount and the Milltek exhaust that was on actual A3 in the first week in October and depending on funds I'll be taking it up to our friend Niki who owns R-Tech to have it remapped again to stage 2/custom spec. Hoping to break the 230bhp mark. Niki seems to be getting 230bhp out of most 1.8t's these days so it should be alright given the high spec of the car; all depends how it decides to run on the day. I've noticed the injectors are ticking though which is annoying me, the AUM injectors are a fairly decent size at 317cc so can flow for the power I want no problems. Not sure if I'm going to clean them or just buy a set, they're hardly expensive. I'm really starting to hate the clutch, 1.8t's have a fair decent clutch. But I'm used to the VR6/G60 single mass upgrade because that's what I've always had and I spent years driving Nick's which has always had a VR6 clutch. So this sack of shit is getting right on my tits. Other than that I am still happy and glad to be playing with a 1.8t again; it's so nice to know 100% exactly what I'm doing. Should never have sold mine one Booked in for MOT too; which it'll fly though obviously lol Exhaust - Old FMIC - The thing I love about the FMIC is how much it tidies up the engine bay; it makes a huge difference to how everything sits and lines up under the bonnet. Standard routing and SMIC - Routing with FMIC -
  24. In all seriousness though, if Tom had of just let me keep my own thread we could have had all of this contained in one area and not clogging up everyone else's viewing pleasure. But it was not to be
