  1. *doesn't. Why do you keep coming back for more!
  2. Would be good to see you brosef. When you down in Plymouth next?
  3. Beautiful Robin. Are you going to SOS next Wednesday?
  4. I am pretty sure that your reply wasn't worded correctly, which makes me cringe.
  5. I've spent 6 years working in bike shops, and I was forever fed up with idiotic kids coming in because they thought they knew best about their bikes. Most of them were f**ked. Some of the bodges, quick fixes, makeshift tools and generally stupid things I've seen posted up on here, or walking in through the door are unreal. You need to pick and choose your shop, the shop you went into is probably a roadie focused shop, one down the road is probably an XC focused shop, the one the other end of town is probably into DH and Freeride. That's the way bike shops go; the staff and managers influence the sort of clientele that will walk through the door and the stock that will be on the shelves. Even Halfords stores are like it; and with reference employment at Halfords I was offered the job of managing the Plymouth bike hut, they actually sent a letter to me at my previous place of work asking for an interview. I turned up, had a chat about bikes but mainly the area managers BMW and was offered the job there and then with a starting on Monday. I turned down the job but suggested a friend, they asked him for a CV and gave 1 half hour interview and he started 48 hours later. So no Halfords are not all super strict on who they employ; but in all honestly for the lowly jobs they are usually scraping the barrel. The extensive interviews and countless times they phone you to rebook is because they want to see how reliable you are as a person and how badly you want the job. Better for them to dick you around now and then bin you off than to find out that you are nothing like your interview alter ego after they've contracted you. There are many people on this forum who have worked in Halfords; doesn't make you a bottom run of the ladder low life though. It's not a bad place to work at all from all I've seen; and certainly given correct management the structure and facilities to offer a good bike shop are there. Bike shops are made and broken by their employees; good staff = good customers = good money. Yes there are some shit bike shops out there for what you want; but they've got to be doing something right or they wouldn't be there.
  6. Go get some HID's then, if you want them. I've told you how they work and that the cheap ebay kits are good, that I've run them for years and they're reliable though totally illegal, Robin's told you why you don't really need them and that actually you can get a safer and more efficient result from improving your existing setup. Just depends what you want.
  7. I'm really confused about the way this thread has gone. Have you understood what I have told you and what Robin is telling you?
  8. Nope. The beam pattern is not correct, to fit HID's you need to have a matching reflector and projector along with an anti glare lens. They also need to have a self leveling system by law. The upgrade kits ARE illegal, hasn't stopped me or countless friends running the cheap ebay kits for years though. See in this image I took less than 10 mins ago how much glare there is, with normal bulbs or proper HID's with original fitment projectors you don't get any of that. As Robin says as well, biggest downside is everything looks 2d with ANY HID's. Halogens give a better flood of light over distance than HID's, that is fact. But HID's are much brighter in the short term and look pimp as f**k.
  9. Eurgh so weird. I literally JUST fitted mine to the Audi. Do it, HUGE benefit. Totally illegal though.
  10. That sucks balls, isn't remotely funny and hopefully will be removed from the internet too.
  11. I thought they looked like 7.5 but the tires looked quite wide in the pic. I hope they're alright; I've never seen Azev reps though! £150? I honestly think a 1.8t with a stage 1 map will be better on fuel than a 16V. So if it's daily running costs you're looking at I don't think it will make much difference. In the long run when you want to start making it go faster again the 1.8t will win. Sucks about storage shizz, is the Mini still at home?
  12. Turbo, don't be a faggot. Every chump has a 16v Scirocco, 1.8t and be a man. Azev A's look gang*, 8j? Is one square?
  13. What a cont! Just did the thermostat on the Audi in the road outside my house, it got so bad it was open all the time and it never got above 60*. I only had a flank drive 10mm spanner...Literally the longest, hardest, most annoying job I've ever done. If I just had two tools I know I have at home I could have done it in half an hour. All good now though, no leaks and up to 90* within a mile of driving. Welll gooood. Changed the plugs too. Dunno if anybody has used it before but I got a bottle of Meg's endurance tire gel the other day. That shit's AMAZING and it smells lush. Goes on really sticky, so I diluted a bottle down about 1/4 water and applied it with a sponge to all the plastics and then buffed it, it's gone in well and looks like a good dressing. I tried to see how durable it will be, I couldn't remove it with Demon Shine so it must be strong stuff. 10/10 if anybody wants to try a new plastics dressing. Diluted down 1/4 it isn't a wet look dressing, just a light gloss.
  14. Love this. http://www.tittycats.com/
  15. Sort yourselves out, trying to argue with me over who knows my woman better? Pfft. The only person who's wrong here is you for mentioning something as retarded as that. - I cleaned the Audi today and had our dent guy in work go over it quickly, didn't come up too bad. Poor little 500 looks like it's about to get jumped haha!
  16. Literally doesn't George lol She has phoned me like 8 times just because she can't get over how awesome Blue & Me is, she keeps asking me to send her texts so it reads them out.
  17. No Sam, what you read was the invalid opinion of two people who don't actually know her. Using that uneducated opinion youself and others formed a vision of me some how wheeling and dealing my partner into buying a car for my own benefit. That's the only bullshit here. Apology accepted. As Prawn says, she is a girl. However this is the girliest I have ever seen her be, proper giggly and being all gay about it. Which is a refreshing break from the soul-less scorpion woman I have lived with for the last 3 years. First thing she said when she drove it was "Urgh how did I live with the Audi for so long!" Pretty much says it all. When she came to pick it up we put it under a cool little cover - And I had on of the guys from Fiat crouch behind it and then whip the cover off and all that jazz.
  18. Thinking about it, MGA's must be rare as f**k in Poland? Oh, also Lou gets her new 500 today. She is so excited!
  19. Alex's dad's twin cam MGA pwns his M3. Sorry bro, but it's fact.
  20. This is so gay, you owe me 47 seconds of my f**king life back.
  21. I just like the setting, it looks such a nice place to be.
  22. YES ROBIN; easiest and best engine conversion by miiiiiles. I'll keep an ear to the ground; been seeing non runners and crashed cars got for £2/300 over the last couple of months. Qpeng is your best bet for conversion looms and wiring diagrams. I wondered why you popped up on Facebook chat the other night; clearly to talk about this. I'll be on tonight though. x
