  1. LPG conversion is a no go, it's possible but you'll lose power and it will not be a good setup to run. If I'm honest no, they're not worth the MPG hit they take. For the running costs of an RX8 you'd be able to get something a lot faster and a lot more reliable. That said they handle amazingly well, and if you WANT a rotary then they're a cheap way of getting into it. Personally if I was going to take that much of a hit on MPG I'd get a Jag XJR or something haha.
  2. Again, time to put my hand up. I work for Mazda, what do you want to know?
  3. Yeah, whenever Zymol or DoDo make ANYTHING new it is snapped up by people and then you find half used pots on eBay where people have realised it's exactly the same as what they've had in their kits for months. I've not polished the Audi in the best part of 18 months, just waxed it once a month and demon shined it a couple of times a week. Admittedly I Iron-X'd it the other day but that was the first time it's ever had anything like that. It's never even been clayed the poor thing. The best thing I've seen you do is that Mercedes, that was a fair chunk of work and looked well done. So hats off for that. Back when I was getting paid to correct cars and do details it wasn't such a big thing, taking pictures and detailing your work was not the done thing. I used to do a lot of work for this company - http://www.duncanhamilton.com/ It was amazing really, the sort of cars I was around and the products I was getting to work with. Not to mention that my job for pretty much 18 months was to buy cars on ebay with the bosses money, tart them up and sell them for a horrendous profit. Along with maintaining out commission sales and bits and pieces. Working with old cars was the best job ever, I've done 911's, E-Types, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Lotus's etc. Wish I was still doing it now.
  4. I've got a wookie mitt, but this was a pikey clean to see how good a result I could get from using basic products that everybody has in their sheds. Most of it's bullshit anyway, frankly I'm surprised you made that comment. I've been doing it long enough to know that more harm is done by driving your car on the motorway than is done by using a sponge to clean your car. As long as you're not a total jeb end and use two buckets there's not a problem with sponges.
  5. Two bucket cleaning method, one had about a cup full of demon shine and water in it, the other just clean water. Sponge into the cleaning bucket, then wash, then rinse in the water bucket. Stops any grit and shit being mashed into the paintwork. Defo pick up a bottle, I promise you won't be disappointed. Asda have it at 2L for £2 at the moment, but it's always on offer in one shop or another and the one in Asda isn't a spray bottle just a refill. Prawn is literally the laziest person I've ever met for car cleaning, to the extent he used to give me his car whenever I wanted so long as I cleaned it for him. And if it is easy enough and has a good enough result for him to use it then that's all the testament I would need from that point of view.
  6. I pretty much do yeah haha, I just love clean things. And yep JD, that's EXACTLY what it's marketed as. About two years ago Prawn mentioned he had bought a bottle and he couldn't believe how well it removed brake dust from his wheels. Usually brake dust requires a very aggressive cleaner and it isn't something you'd ever want to put on your paintwork or use in the way I use Demon Shine. I was a bit impressed by it then after cleaning Prawns wheels with it, I've religiously been using it as a quick detailing spray and general all purpose cleaner ever since. It's really really good; I always have a bottle of it in my boot and a couple of microfibers. The other day I went to SOS car meet in Newton Abbott and didn't have anything to do my grey tires with; so I used a bit of demon shine and scrubbed it into the tires to make them at least look wet. Anyway, the other week you might remember I was banging on about Megs endurance tires bullshit. Well actually Demon Shine smashes it if applied properly! Next time you see a bottle on offer get it, and a bundle of cheap microfibers. Make sure you machine wash the cloths first though otherwise they don't seem to absorb liquid and just make everything look shit.
  7. I thought you couldn't double post?! Weird.
  8. I'm going to make one of my bold statements that everybody says WTF?! at. Demon Shine is by far and above the best cleaning product on the market, by miles. You can buy 2L of it for £2, it's available pretty much everywhere, it comes in a squirty bottle so you don't need to dispense it or faf about and it's great at everything. As a challenge I cleaned the A3 today using nothing but Demon Shine. Plastics, cloth seats and cleaning the interior, EVERYTHING has been done with four microfibers, two buckets, one sponge and a 1L bottle of Demon Shine. Excuse the rain specs in this picture - I even cleaned the engine bay with it! Nice big gap between me and the kerb, for King C and Rich
  9. Every day I ride the tour de f**k you....lol
  10. I've had a CG Lock for ages; it's really really good. It does nothing for your shoulders but keeps your hips and thighs in place very well.
  11. Let me know if you're REALLY stuck, I'm not working tomorrow and I'll deliver them to you for petrol if you are properly desperate.
  12. No big bad dad was NOT unbolting driveshaft flanges for you, he was making lunch for small awesome mum. Sorry. Yeah bro, it'll be awesome and something a bit different and generally awesome.
  13. Yeah I remember from mine, I loved having the big long shifter. I miss my Scirocco She was so good!
  14. That looks great Robin! Have you seen the tower that Andy P has made?
  15. Straightened up my pipes. Fixed my MAP sensor in place properly, no pics of that. Sanded down and trimmed the inside of the new bumper down...It's difficult to comprehend just quite how much I've taken off if you've never seen the inside of an 8L bumper...But that's a f**k load. This is the mess it made - Which left me with this - Fitted it, and it looks gangster as f**k. Drilled some holes for my Audi-Sport plate holders...Courtesy of our very own Mr Seamons. Chipped the bumper refitting the grill...Boooo Went to see Prawns dad/Big Bad Dad. Did a quick instagram whilst having a cup of tea and lol'ing at retards on forums. Went and did some logging, and it's peak flow was 186g/s which is 232.5BHP which is healthy stage 2 figures...But my car is only stage 1 Car is much quicker now mid range, rather than a peak and then tailing off it seems to hold power for about 1500rpm more and it is much much smoother. Before it was super fast spool up and bang in your face, where as now it is much more progressive, a little bit more lag which balances out the revs a lot nicer. I knew all this anyway. All in all I am super happy. I MUCH prefer the pre-facelift bumper and grill, and I just need to spray the IC pipes black and I'm officially a hero.
  16. I whatsapped this to Prawn earlier, it's potentially quite funny. Quarter throttle medium boost/cold engine driving, however my excitement at the car working again is rather hilarious. Not too bad for something I attacked with no real knowledge in my shed!
  17. Thanks for the info TB, I am doing the boot next week so I will follow that. I think I focused too much on getting the colour paint thick and glossy and should have used less paint and more lacquer as you say. Having finished the bumper for now I am quite pleased with it, it is the first paintwork I have ever done. With better prep work I know I could have got a better result, I will post some pictures in a second.
  18. Why don't you all f**k off! I park on that road every single day. Every single car along that road parks exactly the same way due to the camber of the road and the piss poor quality of the tarmac's edge. Yes, the wheels are irreplacable. If you can find me a set of 17" Avus 3 replicas in 5x100 fitment and in the same offset currently for sale anywhere then I will sign off every post I ever make with "I'm a fanny and I was wrong." You won't though, because these are the only set I have ever seen and Prawn and possibly Seamons will say the same. Standard Avus 3 S4 wheels are 18" and 5x110 and as such every set of replicas you can buy are 18" with 5x100/110 multifitment. These wheels are rare as rocking horse shit, every VAG forum I have ever posted on there has been a comment on the rarity of the wheels. S4's did come with 17" wheels, but they were made by Ronal and look very much different to mine. As such there is no market for making a replica of an 18" wheel in 17" when you can buy a genuine 17" one which looks kind of similar for no money at all. Anywho, car is fixed now and boosting like a champ. Airflow is up and it is making about 235bhp by the g/s airflow logs.
  19. Because I have a set of irreplacable wheels, and that space you assume is the road and where I should be parking is actually a gutter. - Basically attempting to make up for shit prep TB, I haven't got a clue what I am doing but it will all work out in the end. Haha
  20. Well I've ruined the A3, hopefully it'll all be sorted tomorrow though. I have f**king RUINED the front bumper, I can't really put into words how totally f**ked it is. And the MAP sensor got filled with oil when I removed it from the old intercooler so that's f**ked. I've been running it with no MAP sensor for the last couple of days, erratic 5PSI of boost and randomly cutting out is not good. I got a new bumper today which I've got the first couple of coats of paint on, I just need to wet sand it back and finish it with another 3 or 4 coats and then clear. Then I've got to re-cut the lower section to fit the FMIC properly. The only way I could get the bumper back on was by cutting it in half with a bread knife and stretching it round so it is only secured with two screws. Due to Creation Motorsport not sending me the right bits, and me being a partial retard I removed everything from the old IC setup and then was unable to fit it all back together properly. Massive monumental unforeseen failure. It looks like this at the moment, which in blurry camera phone vision isn't bad...In reality it's f**king shocking and makes children want to slit their wrists.
  21. Saw Robin tonight, went to SOS and saw some old cars. Was a good night, no pictures and a fairly pointless post. But I had fun
  22. I have looked at TD6's and that is now my top choice. Going to look at one tomorrow.
