  1. First, don't feel shy to ask! We all had to learn this, nobody could do this from the first time... I learned my first backhops on a mountainbike. What did the thing for me was, just do a couple of bails back. So you do a lil endo, switch too much weight to the back as you end up jumping off ur bike, with ur frontwheel still in the air. Then you know how for you may go to not bail back and not bail forward. When ur at that point just try to bounce with ur legs, don't make ur hops too big, you'll wast energy, either keep 'em small but don't freeze when ur at balancing point... See some guides at TrashZen and TrialsRide Anyway, the main thing is just practice.. If you still have questions, just add me on MSN... Grtzz, ThYp
  2. I've had a pretty similar problem. First I discovert my TPA wouldn't move. I got the whole lever off. Dunno exactly how I did (it's been a while), but I got a move on the TPA again, put my lever back in place, readjusted the TPA. Then after a short test ride, I pulled on my lever, and it like kinda snaped trough ... wasn't able to break decently. Wanted to readjust with the TPA, which was blocked again =/. Got the whole lever off again, got a move on the TPA, placed my lever back on, and I was able to move my TPA. But now the pistons didn't move anymore, so I adjusted my whole brake manually... Still dunno what the problem is... Grtzz, ThYp
  3. Thats what I did too when I had that problem with my Hopes. I really had to do a LOT of pumping on my lever to get my pads/pistons readjusted again... Worked really fine for me! Nice guide Ticker ! Grtzz, ThYp
  4. Hi, Welcome to the forum and to trials! Just start with the pure basics (Standtrack/Rocking, Pivoting, Backhopping), as it is essensial to master those really good to further advance in ur moves. If you ride alone it's really good to visit a couple of websites where most trial technics are discibed. Such as Trashzen , Trials-Online and TrialsRide. To me it always seemed beter/easier to ride together with some more experienced riders. As I almost always ride alone I got an immense help from this FAQ. When u can't ride 'cause of certain reasons spent some time on the WWW, T-F or clean ur bike lol Last tip, no move you see is impossible, just practice, practice and practice some more! Grtz, ThYp
  5. Had a similar problem before, solved it the way OnzaTvee23 & Mr.trial_dude described... Grtz, ThYp
  6. It's all personal preference. And like bakewell said, if you get the chance try them both. Grtz, ThYp
  7. I've got these shinpads. Don't know how much they cost, I've got them from the guy who I buyed my bike from. Don't have any conplainments yet...
  8. Thx for the quick reply's already, really great! @montyrider07: Why wouldn't you see yourself riding that bike and why would it be hard for me riding that bike? Another question: Do you guys have any experiance with buying ur bike or materials online f.e. at thiswebsite? I'm kinda confused by all the kinds of combinations. I see trialbikes with suspension, without suspension, diskbrakes at front and at rear, maguras at front and disks on the rear:S ... Or is it just something you just have to find out yourself? 9. Hi Everyone I'm ThYp, I'm 16 years old, I'm from Belgium and I'm new to this forum and to trials... I've already watched and read lots of (instruction)video's and articles about trials. I started trial about 3 weeks ago, I'm practicing and learing everyday more... I can do some basic things like standtrack couple of minutes, rocking, backhop about 7 times, wheeling... Now, my bike I a basic cheap mountainbike and it's crap (aspecialy the brakes) I would like to buy a new one, (This is not a request for a 2nd hand bike or so) I just would like some advice... I got already contacted my local dealer for this bike What do you guys advice, suggest me? Is this a good bike to get started? I definatly would like a stock bike... I also got some other questions like: - I heard about rear disk brakes, and V's at the front? - Suspension vs Rigid fork? - Single Gear, Multiple Gears? Thx already for reading Grtzz ThYp PS: Sorry for my poor english...
