In that 1st link with the Hege riding, his gap at 1:46 is pure jizz on wheels. One of my favourite riders for sure.
  2. Cheers for the review, I'm gonna try one too after reading this as the price is good. Its always fun trying out new parts to see if they're suitable, if not they just go on the other bike
  3. I rode brakeless on my Zero about 8 years ago, although I was really bad at riding even with the brakes on back then. Came off the back of a manual down a slope to flat and landed in the most savage splits on a gravel carpark, tearing my groin to buggery. Lucky Si the phisio was around to rub it better I cant be arsed to go through the whole learning thing again with all the falls that come with it. Trials bikes have brakes, I like them.
  4. The eruption looks bloody amazing http://video.uk.msn.com/watch/video/spectacular-footage-from-above-the-volcanic-crater/2gg3n75b
  5. Say your walking along a really high (100m) ledge and the wind is blowing, the last thing you need is to get scared and have your legs go all wobbly.
  6. You've got Barry's up in Portrush have you not? I remember going there as a kid. Never heard of Flamingo land though. I've always thought that a typical trials rider/dangerous sportsman would be fine with rollercoasters/skydiving as they are the type of person who enjoys the rush of exciting things. Not the type of person who gets scared like a little pussy
  7. Yea liking it, gonna have to pay that spot a visit pics are looking sweet!
  8. Damn, couldn't bare to ride, the old body was a wreck after a day of basketball and shaggin.
  9. Its hard to take in the size of all these moves, it all happens so quick then your there I love watching a nice big flat to flat gap with a proper drop in between every now and again
  10. Hey Bigman, having a little read about those Rock'Rs it seems the extra layer around the bead is just to stop the rim wearing into the tyre and not to protect against snakebites. Not a problem I was ever aware of As always, only one way to know for sure though.
  11. I've had 3 of them in gooey gluey, they are great tyres but I'm sure if you take yours off and look you will see the cracks I'm on about. Theres loads of protection still left of course but over time the chance of you landing exactly on a crack increases with the number of cracks. Had hopes for the Conti RQ 2.2 but with no Apex and judging from Tartys handy tyre guide it shows that, compared with the 2.4, just the width has been decreased, instead of the entire profile being scaled down, surely making it even more unstable. I agree anything lighter than 800 grams just isn't suitable for general trials use but the possibility of making a really good 900 gram tyre for the lazier amongst us hasn't been realised yet. I don't always want to drag a Der Kaiser around when I'm messing about near my house.
  12. Im quite interested to know if anybody has tried the Michelin Wild Rock'R 2.4 that Bigman mentioned a while back.
  13. OK my view on the Big Bettys, excellent grip and weight although after a month of riding you will find you get pinch flats as the internal snakebite protection is a brittle, disposable system that cracks as it absorbs the impact, rendering that part of the tyre unprotected. You can see all the cracks if you remove the tyre after a ride. Still a great tyre if you can afford to replace them regularly.
  14. I've tryed this tyre and found it not very good at stopping pinch flats, the sidewalls are really thin and the CAP PLY insert doesn't work for wide rims or when the tyre rims out under sidewards load. Lovely and light though.
  15. Getton buh, il come out friday.
  16. No offence but these last few are not very funny. The joke may be hidden in there somewhere but I didn't get it
  17. Its so much harder for left footers to do the one handed wheelie thing unless we hold on with the right hand and do it brakeless, or swap the brakes around.
  18. voluptuous drunken lady: oo hiya! your gloves are nice, my dont you have large hands. casualjoe: uh, not really.. voluptuous drunken lady: oo my bum hurts, I fell over just down the road and banged my bum so hard. casualjoe: savage, voluptuous drunken lady: yea and now I have a big lump on it, you wanna feel? casualjoe: f**k yea. voluptuous drunken lady: *grabs my hand and puts it on that huge booty* can you feel it? casualjoe: nah voluptuous drunken lady: press harder then casualjoe: *squeezes with everything hes got* voluptuous drunken lady: AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!! NOT LIKE THAT YOU LITTLE SH!T!! *exits left*
  19. Thinking of getting one Nick? Si's just got his built up, looks well designed but its so damn light.
  20. Another vote for pimps and sluts, makes for an awesome party.
  21. Try-all do a good stem but I would seriously consider getting riser bars, the right bars would give you the option to finely tune your height/reach needs.
  22. That was class, Mongoose have become really cool all of a sudden
  23. heres mine; There are better frames out there for spins but for learning trials you cant get a nicer more neutral frame for the money. You're 6'2" though and I'm only 5'10" + my arms and legs are pretty short for my height. You'd probably be able to spin the Z3 easier than me but the trials geometry means it will never quite look or feel right. Static 360s and 360 front pivots are real easy but for rolling stuff you want a shorter frame, with a lower BB height and slightly longer chainstay.
