sorry, yeah, the suffolk trials scene seemed to die a couple of years ago but hopefully its in the process of making a come-back! anyway, yeah, definitely sunday, im bringing a couple of bmx mates if thats ok? and maybe a photographer friend but i dont no why because im gonna be riding soooo badly! the bmxers are probably gonna stay in the skatepark all day but they might come and do some streer stuff with us. meet at the skatepark at 11.00? obviously not gonna ride there much but its a good place to warm up and theres a couple of pretty good riding spots close to there. and theres absolutely no chance of me creaming you guys, i've not been on a trials bike for aaaaages and this will be the first time i've ridden a stock bike properly...i used to ride mod. anyway, give me a text or something, or i might catch you on msn and i'll see you sunday! cheers sam

that's definitely the nicest looking 24inch streety bike i've seen in a long time really nice frame colour, the lines looks nice and clean too! good work!
-
whats your inner leg measurement just out of interest? and whats the length of the seat tube of the frame? sam
-
dont like it to be honest, i cant see the frame being very rigid in the back end i think the way its been so cut away is a bit too extreme and frankly unecesary?
-
mine doesnt turn on sometimes, i just leave it an hour or so then it seems fine again...it's happened a few times but it always comes back to life again
-
haha! you're saying that a slipping brake doesnt matter and you have heatsink in your signature!?!?
-
your local bike shop will probably drift it out for you properly for a couple of pounds, they'll be able to fit a new one with the proper press too.
-
front vee brake... i checked though and it's not that that's creaking. Thanks anyway
-
sounds like you've laced it up wrong...how many times do the spokes cross over eachother? or have you done them coming straight out from the hub to the rim? I presume they would have probavly given you the right number of spokes to do a 3 cross pattern which means each spoke crosses over three other spokes in an under/under/over style if you get me? hard to explain but i'll find you a link to a wheelbuilding site... this isnt personally how i'd build my wheels because i work in a bike shop and my job is to build them! but this explains it quite well and you should be able to follow the instructions ok http://www.yogarup.com/wheels/method.php sam

Why do you need an official/organised 'club' trials should just be riding really, not belonging to a club! just ride ipswich with your mates and me and go and find new places to ride and go on some forum rides!

grease where? if i grease where it sits into the frame ot will probably slip wont it? and the bearings dont need greasing, theyre fine! i think the actual cup might be moving inside the frame, the guy i bought the frame off did say it has a slightly flared headtube, but the cup went in snuggly and there isnt any noticeable play, just this annoying creaking! any other suggestions?
-
probably a stupid question but does anyone know why my bottom cup creaks in my frame, the headset is definitely tight enough and there is no play in it. Im pretty sure it's the bottom cup making the noise but it could be something else around the headtube area i guess? I'm running a hope headset (which was previously fitted in my xc bike where it didnt make any noise) and an '04 echo pure frame which previously had an FSA orbit hedset, the cup is in the frame properly and was fitted with a proper press. any ideas what the noise could be and if there's a cure? cheers

nice, its just gonna be a laugh...i've been out of trials for almost a year and this will be my first proper day riding again so im gonna be well rusty but yesh, meeting at 11oclockish i guess. any suggestions on where? sam

i got the tyre on in 2 minutes with a pair of metal tyre levers cheers guys, great help! im just dreading getting a puncture while im riding now because i know im going to forget my tyre levers! anyway, cheers for the help!! sam
-
i know you get some pretty tough rim and tyre combinations and stuff, but my rear revell rim with a dual ply 2.5inch super tacky maxxis high roller just doesnt go on, i've been trying for an hour and a half and i snapped three tyre levers im sure this is an impossible combination but does anyone have any suggestions? cheers sam

considering the guy who posted it is from germany o doubt it's local to you in cumbria!
-
yeah, good idea! There are probably some more local riders who'll let her have a go though, but thanks for the offer i'll let her ride my stock too so she can make up her own mind to what she prefers! but i reckon she'll probably be best suited to a mod... she's the really competitive type who never gives up, so i reckon she should get on with trials quite well, but we'll see!!! cheers sam
-
Bassically, my girlfriend says she wants to give trials a go... which i think is quite cool as there arent many girls in trials and i guess we should be encouraging it...so im gonna try to encourage her as much as possible! I'm riding stock now and i reckon a mod would probably be a good idea for her... so I'm gonna buy her a bike in the summer and i just wondered what would be a good bike for a complete begginer? I learnt on a Monty 220 x-hydra which i found really nice to start on but i cant find any 2nd hand which it will probably have to be as i'm only gonna be able to afford £200ish. something short will probably be good, shorter than a t-pro i reckon but i'm just not sure what yet!! anyway, cheers guys sam the bike is finished! pics at the bottom of the page!

yeah, i know... it's raw aluminium at the moment at the moment! thanks anyway though!
-
cheers guys, im gonna have a shiny echo pure now thanks
-
hi, does anyone have any experience with a product called 'Autosol'? my mate said it would be good for shining up a raw aluminium bike frame? is it ok to use on bikes and is it any good?!?!? cheers sam

I've been running these on the back of my bmx with rimjams on an oddysey hazard light chrome rim and its fecking awesome...especially for a bmx brake! it squeaks alot and the adaptors are really good! theyre really clever and i'd use them on a vee, definitely!
