  1. yeah, but hope will use ball bearing grade stainless steel, not cheap asian scrap iron i have nothing against deng, infact i have some echo forks and some ever deng stuff. it's just the bearings dont last 5 minutes in any of the moving deng parts and thats talking from personal experience and experiences of friends.
  2. they had deng patent cheese bearings
  3. im more than aware of shimano bearings by the number we get in the bike shop but i really like this design and i just want to try it out as a bit of an experiment
  4. the deore ones have disc mounts and you dont have to rebuild your wheel, they've got keyhole things for the spokes to go through
  5. i'm going to be riding my girlfriends bike mines a bit not working on the brakes front and now chainreaction are messing me about with my new front brake grrrrrr... BB7s are more trouble thab theyre worth!

  11. it's just something a bit different isnt it? and it might be absolutely amazing in some unexpected way! it's not a lot of money either so it might be worth a shot?!
  12. poke your spokes in the keyholes i presume
  13. im considering bunging one of these deore jobbys on the front of my mod, do you reckon it will take trials abuse? they look pretty smart and aparently give a stronger wheel build. anyone got any experience with them? it's only £17.50 on CHAIN REACTION CYCLES so it might be worth a try?
  14. yes, the avid roundagon has a large surface area for pad contact which makes it very effective with an avid BB7 or mechanical disc as it has a larger area for the pad to 'bite' on. In contrast the hopo trials disc rotors have huge holes in to allow greater ventilation to prevent them from heating up and because of the nature of the setup it doesnt require so much disc area for the pads to grab onto.
  15. "ooh, there's blood coming out of his ears...must take a quick photo!"
  16. sell the dmr whole and buy it then! you wont be losing more than a couple of hundred quid and it looks pretty fly
