If we plan this far in advance, we can make it a rather large ride. We need to organise a location and date that suits as many peole as possible. Suggetions so far include Ipswich on the 4th of January (a Sunday) or London on the same day. If you're interested in coming, stick your name in here and feel free to suggest a time an place Make it huge!
I like riding at this time of year, on the really crisp days where it's sunny in the morning, but still pretty chilly. Don't get to warm and everything is just right! When it's windy I sail.
The chain is coming off the front and onto the rear sprockets nice and square? you can play around with bb axle lengths and the different size spacers in the single speed kit to get this alignment perfect. Other than this, what's already been listed sounds about right. Also, how old is the front sprocket? running a new chain on old cogs is never a good idea.
if it was in town it was stolen, surely whoever stole it must have ridden past a cctv camera at some point, no? Can't you get them checked to get an ID on whoever took it? might be known to the police or something...
These are disc pads, right? dont bake maggie pads, ever! The easiest way is a few seconds with a blow torch to burn any grease or dirt off. This also seems to improve the 'bite' of the pads, from my personal experience.
Not having a bike is shit and I have no lectures tomorrow As of the 1st of November, my bike will be built and I'll be at every single portsmouth ride!
The chain will stretch a little very quickly and everything will mesh nicely. New chains are deliberately slightly too small to let them stretch a little. It will be fine after an hours riding.
