  1. AKG K171 MKII. Need I say more? After having to do quite a bit of critical listening for Alevel music tech, I realised good quality headphones really are worth the price tag.
  2. Roundagon works better than any rotor with lots of holes in my experience, I presume this is because there is a lot more surface area for the pads. I'm currently running an A2Z rotor with my BB7 on the front. Cheap as you like, reasonably beefy and does it's job perfectly well, however the 203mm version actually measures around 198/199mm, so I had to take some shims out of my post mount adapter.
  3. Not had a problem with mine, the side wall is thin, but I'm not that heavy and I dont run my tyres a silly-low pressures. When prawn rode my bike it was noticeably rolling a bit, but it is no worse than a maxxis high roller single ply in this respect, and it's almost certainly better in every other way!... In my opinion (of course)
  4. Continental rubber queen is the winner. Light, bouncy, doesn't squirm and grips like <something really grippy>!
  5. The level of ignorance on this forum is outstanding!
  6. If it's a fag bb, you can use a hamemr and ddrift to get it out, if not the standard shimano spline bb tool will do the job. Take it to your local bike shop and they'll do it for peanuts.
  7. the pasta pie thing sounds pretty tasty. might have to try it.. can you cook spaghetti in a microwave?
  8. Just to be different... Continental Rubber Queen 2.4" on the back, really bouncy and grippy, and much lighter than any similar maxxis tyre. I have to say I prefer it to my high roller super tacky 2.5" dual ply. And I'm running a Continental Explorer lite 2.1" on the front which is under 400g 498g on digital scales. It's plenty grippy enough too, and doesn't seem to squirm much for such a light tyre. I don't think they make them any more though edit: I was 100g out on the weight.
  9. I got it coming out as 258mm and I'd be inclined to go slightly longer and take up the slack with the nipples, as theyre quite a deep rim.
  10. Cheers Alex. I've been in contact with him in the last week, but he's not responding so that's down to him really isn't it. I never got a pm from him and I sent him a PM with my mobile number. He never made the effort to get in touch, so he clearly can't be that desparate for them! I've done all I can to try and get it resolved.
  11. I drew up plans for an 80 ep hub, but never really had the opportunity to make it. I was going to use the hubshell from a hope xc and make a new freehub body and ratchet ring. It would have had chunky enough pawls too. should have worked pretty well. Maybe I'll get round to making it one day... by the way, this was before the pro2 hubs came out, would have been pretty unique at the time. I guess I could just make a new freehub body for a pro 2 wit two pairs of offset pawls and get 96 ep... If I ever get the chance, I'll try making one up.
  12. it's been brought up before. i dont reckon it would deal with the torque too well.
  13. There's a thread here warning about how shite the G.I. pedals are. I can't see the aircorps being much better. Just go for some slim jims. I use a set and really can't fault them (except the bearings are on the way out, but they have taken a good year of abuse!).
  14. it had a mega steep head angle apparently, I think he said around 74*
  15. Truvativ husselfelt bars I think. It looks realy smart. I just built up my Zhi Z2 too. They ride pretty nicely, not sure if it suits me, but theyre definitely nice frames! jood job
  16. whats wrong with smooth, fast rolling tyres on the rear and big, knobbly, grippy tyres on the front? Surely thats ideal!
  17. Wow! That was seriously impresive. The guy on the kamel is amazing! So smooth on such huge stuff. Really great riding
  18. It's wet, but not raining at the minute. Doesn't look like it's going to much either. See you all at 11.00
  19. wahey! Page 100 (didn't even realise!) I just finiished my bike and it look absolutely amazing, so happy with it! It's probably not going to suit me though I guess I'll find out in the morning
  20. Mowgli, I'm just building my bike up. It should be ready for tomorrow if there arent any complications, but I'll be running my old cranks. It's taken me since 8oclock to unbuild my old wheels, service my pro2, build a new wheelset then build my new bike, a right hassle! Where are you riding in the morning?
