  1. I'm fine with the sofa, and beer is my preferd method of payment
  2. Do you want a lodger for the summer?
  3. I'm so jealous of where you live. North Cornwall coast seems awesome. What's the surf like where you are? And the heels for skating. Do you get many tourists where you are? or is it not so bad?
  4. I'm too close to the sea to get proper snow. Right ont he south coast here
  5. That would defeat the whole point of a chrome rim.
  6. Volume is the ammount of air in litres that is going into the tyre per minute. Obviously a car pump (I presume you mean an electric compressor) is designed to pump the car tyre up fast (high volume, low pressure). Your average track pump is a lower volume, longer stroke, and designed for higher pressures (designed for pumping up road bike tyres), and a small hand held pump is very low volume and short stroke.
  7. Best insurance against theft is a good lock. I bought a Kryptonite New York 'D' lock. Covers the bike upto £1,100 if it gets stolen while it's locked up.
  8. Car pump moves the air a t a very high volume. That might be your problem.
  9. Well, it's a chrome rim, so I guess CRMs will be ultra aggressive. I might try a set of koolstop reds or magura blacks for a while... Does anyone want to give me a set for the price of postage, pretty please? I'm a skint student!
  10. Superglue is a contact adhesive. It only works properly if you use a minimal ammount. I was pretty generous with it though, I'd say.
  11. I set them up usind a credit card, so they were pretty close. Don't really think I could have them any closer. CRMs on a smooth rim? I might give it a go.

    Halp!

Basically, I'm runing a magura on my Leeson with a chrome rim and some Plaz Spanish-Fly pads. The brake performs really well, but sometimes the pad just grips too hard on the rim and rips out of the backing. I've tried re-sticking it in with super glue, an even a little bit of thickened epoxy resin, but They keep coming out. I've just been out for a little ride now and it's finally had it. The actual pad material has torn this time (see photo). The brake is always well set up, with the pads square to the rim, and the trailing edge touching slightly first. Any tips or pad recomendations for this setup, which might last slightly longer than these? Thanks, Sam
  13. You missed yourself off the list! What's the biggest number of people to ever turn up to a forum ride? I'm guessing it's the DJ rides?
  14. I hear an angle grinder is a pretty effective way at getting to the internals.

Typing in all caps and trolling are both against forum rules, and I think the ban came straight from Danny. (might be completely wrong, but it's what I heard).
