Cheap And Cheerfull Frames
montyrider07 replied to trials-lover-josh's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Ok, I dont disagree at all. I suppose i worded it wrong, in my opinion and people in my towns opinion, we feel montys are weaker than most bikes. However like you say 'A well-designed frame with thin tubes is stronger than a poorly-designed one with thick tubes'. I am not saying they are crappy weak frames at all, I would defonatly recomend one to anyone. Imo though I feel they are weaker than most frames. Other peoples opinions will be different though and I would say yours would be more accurate than mine Cheers Josh -
6' 9" , Will fairburn, thought you told all of us you have done 8' 2"?

Cheap And Cheerfull Frames
montyrider07 replied to trials-lover-josh's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Strong? Im afraid not, I have an 07 221pr. Fell off the other day, downtube landed on the wall, no force or presure on the bike when it hit it but now have a big dent. They are exactly the opposite to strong. Montys are fairly week due to the fact that they are mainly designed for competitions, where the bike should be light and easy to flick around, and lets me honast most comp riders are really smooth aswell. As soon as you get a monty on a wall in the street thats it, slip to downtube, dent. Drop off 7 foot, crack. However I have had two now and i really like how montys ride and would recomend them to anyone. Cheers -
I would advise a tensile even though I have already said monty in this topic, reason being, I have monty, a mate has tensile. You cant notice the difference in engagment points and the fact that everyone is saying tensile are the best, I would personally go for the more common one in this topic, monty are very good though.

Do you have one? because I have mine for just under a year. It only ever skips when its heavily raining, dont know why. But otherwise no problems, it hasnt skipped and nothing has gone wrong. Monty for the win.

How is this a for sale/wanted thread? Hes asking where he can get a good stock for a certain price. The obvious places are tarty, select and trials uk ect, or ebay. Or just ask around in your local area, offer someone the right price and they will sell.
-
When you get kicked off next time, ask if you can buy some if they say no, help yourself when they have gone. We used to use an old factory on wet days, and it had a pallet factory right next door so we didnt have to go far. I would want to run far with them though, so like has been said, have someone in some kind of van with you to throw them in the back of.

I have ridden both, and python all the way. Much easier to gap, sidhop ect. they stay on the back wheel easily and just seem to make things alot easier to do. However, i ride a 20" so I would prefer the python, someone who rides a 26" may well prefer the pitbull. But in my opinion python all the way.

I have read it twice and still have no idea what you mean sorry.

That is some serious skill, like that alot

Cant say I have seen you ride before but dont like to see people quit but hey, if its not for you anymore at least you have had your fun. And maybe you will decided you cant live without it one day and start again Cheers Josh

Dont mind the youtube vids. One thing I will say is this, spell check.
-
Your wrecking that wall, we get that alot. Not so much stupid just annoying
-
Im left foot forward and used to sidehop left, however I was useless at it and a mate made me try going the other way and hey hey, within 30mins I did 5 blue. Whereas I can only do about 3 going left
-
Try it, then you will know if you can do it. Then you will do it all the time. Bit of a pointless topic in my opinion though.
-
It looks amazing, my mate has one and I have had a look at it and it looks fantastic. Its one of those frames which looks like it rides nice aswell, although the only way to tell is to wait and see.
-
You know I was useless at sidehops Adam, well i started trying them to my opposite foot instead 'the proper way' and within 30mins I did five blue

I have just realised this topic is old

Would A Double Front Brake Work?
montyrider07 replied to BenLeacock™'s topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Funny you should bring this up, me and a couple of mates were talking about it yesterday. Running dual disk on front (or rear) and using a hose splitter to bring it into the lever as one hose. Would be intrested to see what people say about this idea.
