  1. hi ! I'm just curious why do some people choose to ride a MTB instead of a BMX for street and dirt riding. I'm excluding here street-trials, i'm referring to "pure" street, if there is such a thing (which from what i konw, is a bmx discipline that migrated to mtb). from what i've seen (not actually ridden), mtb is sloppier, less manouvreble, looks worse, and is more expensive then a bmx, so why choose mtb? what do mtb bikes have to offer when it comes to street and dirt?
  2. i'm sure the need for custom frames is quite high (especially for 24" ones). if the frames are cheap, it would be a good alternative to mielec (if he is more serious in his business then the mielec guys and if he can find a cheapish courier). so yeah, start the thread if he is also interested in exporting..
  3. does the guy export custom frames? or does he built them oly for the locals?
  4. great pics. they make me wanna ride (too bad i can't do half of what you seem to be pulling)
  5. i had those kind o reverse tugs from marino. might be the first one to ask for those : ) but turned out they don't actually work. i think chain tugs are your best chance to keep the wheel in place
  6. you mean you tried them on trials, right, not bmx? ADDITIONAL QUESTION: are plastic pedals less painful enough that you don't need shin pads any more? (this question is for people that would use shin pads with metallic pedals)
  7. cool bike! (except for the cockroach seat )
  8. thanks to all for the replies! i think i'll stick to alu pedals for now.. a bit of extra weight but reliable..

    Handlebar

some extra up-sweep is quite nice to have, so i would suggest some azonic bars
  10. hi! strangely enough, there isn't a thread on this topic (or it doesn't have the right name), so there you go: what do you think about plastic pedals? are they as grippy as standard alu pedals with steel pins (like V8s for ex). any other advantages besides weight (and maybe price and looks)? how do they work in wet conditions? etc.. thanks EDIT: i just saw there are some plastic pedals with steel pins on the market, but i was referring to the usual ones, with plastic pins
  11. it's a mielec actually, otherwise looking great. not s sure that rear brake would hold
  12. nice to see it build up. seems great (and a lot similar to mine )
  13. good looking it ain't, but it might be a cool hybrid between mod and bmx. put on a pivotal and riser bars, give it a paint job, and it might look cool
  14. i'd send them to you for 55 shipped. these are liek new. used just for a couple of rides. let me know on msn or email ( zoster_andrei@yahoo.com ), sicne you can't use pm's
  15. got a pair of ultimates for sale if interested..
  16. "awsome.... awsome to the max!"
  17. coolt, thanks. i think i'll give them a try
  18. Hi! i am looking to but new disc pads for my front bb7, because the current ones, avid default sintered pads, block my rim when it's high humidity outside , and otherwise don't hold much either. i might have baked them at some point, i'm not sure if i did and i don;t know if this can have anything to do with it anyway, anyone experienced this behaiveur, the pads sticking (HARD) to the rotor in moist conditions? i am interested in buying a pair of disc koolstop disc pads. i heard they are quite great, but they have 2 versions - the common, red backing ones ( i don't know if this is organic compound or what), and sintered ones , which they have goldish backings and are more expensive. did anyone try both or any of them? any input? grab/hold/break-in time/wet conditions .. thanks !
  19. thanks guys, and sorry for the unintended semi-hijack.. the bars are azonic double wall 2.5" rise. stem is dmr con rod more info on the original thread
  20. i also switched to disc. didn't get along with the vee on the front... i love it the way it is now..
  21. looks great, mate. don't particulary like the saddle, but whatever
  22. thanks to all for your replies. i was thinking maybe the up-sweep influences the moves , like the length of the stem does or bb height, but i guess is just wrist feel
  23. hi! i'm curios how the up-sweep of handlebars influence trials and street moves. any input? thanks
  24. i have a drilled 24"' trialtech rim, and it seems to go off center quite easily. maybe it's my spoke setup at fault, but i would try to find a dx32 for the back, they seem beefier (a friend of mine has one)
