  1. oh, boy, seems nobody gets what i am trying to ask (and it's probably my fault). nevermind the angles and stuff, say you have the same geometry and same mount standards in two bikes, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE is the fact that one has a high bmx-ey handlebar and a fork that just clears the 24" wheel, and the other has a 26" fork and a normal mtb riser bar.
  2. this isn't a comparison between the specific two models (so which one is lighter doesn't count) , but just about the geometry.
  3. thet aren't all that different, but for the sake of argument, say you have the same geometry and same brake mounts, bb standards etc on two frame+ fork sets (whatever you think is good for street-trials), the only difference is that one takes the front end height in the handlebar and the other divides it between handlebar and bars/stackers. which would you choose and why, this is what i am trying to find out..
  4. hey! wondering about your opinions on what would ride better (and why) for 24" street-trials. NOT taking into consideration the availability of parts and brake mounts, shich style do you think is smarter: bmx style (short forks, high bars) ot mtb style high forks, low(er) bars ? looking forward to your input!
  5. questin: why isn't he banned? question 2: if you didn;t give him a beating, isn;t there any other way to punish him? (maybe but not necessarily through legal actions)
  6. are you really that of an asshole?

  7. i do have 5mm bolts for it (trialtech hub) cool, i think i'll give it a go! (not for my trials frame, but for a commuting frame made for a more trick oriented way of getting 'round, basicaly a fgfs bike but with a fw and at least 1 brake) hope to see your bike build up soon.
  8. i should have said "bigger" instead of big. what i wanted to say is that the range of the possible positions of the axle shouldn't be bigger than the range of psitions dictated by the brake mounts, so that you don't make the cams bigger than they should be. hope it makes sense.. btw, do you think the cams made by him would work? (since i don't intend on specially building myself a set of cams)
  9. then what's the point of a big adjustment range on the dropouts when the brakes work for only part of that range? (or did i get it wrong?)
  10. shouldn't he place the mounts in a position that is neutral to all possible positions of the axle?
  11. thanks for the reply! what diameter are the alu discs in your case? also, the other 4 holes are for weight reduction or..?
  12. did you by any chance calculate what the minimum distance would be between wheel axle and dropout center? 9i basically want to know what's the smallest alu disc i can get away with on such dropouts)
  13. nothing new from me, but i tried k-rads , holy roller and diggers on the back, and i defiantly found moto diggers the best something new would be interesting though
  14. hey, is that a suspension corrected for you're using? http://img51.imagesh...99/img4573e.jpg if so, why? for increased bb height? slacker ha? EDIT: i think i mistook it for a correction fork due to the plate you added for foot jams, it's most likely an inspired fork.. LATER EDIT: another question ,if i may.. you're using a freehub, right? why didn't you go for smaller chainring/cog setup? to put less stress on the chain? thanks!
  15. and how much do you use now? also, did you make any other geo modifications? ( i was thinking a shorter wb might be good for streety moves? maybe a steeper ha..)
  16. Hi ! a bmx guy (which rides quite good) tried out some street moves on my bike today, and he basically said a higher bb would be better, which i found pretty awkward. i currently have +20. what is your take? how does the bb height influence street moves and which bb height do you recommend for 24" street-trials frames? thanks!
  17. i checked and if my pump meter is correct, i was running about 25 front, 20 back. i pushed to 40 and see how it goes... thanks for all your input!
  18. hey! i just saw a clip of danny mac doing a reverse tap thingie on a rail and it didn't seem to hit with the rim, or come even close, which made me wonder what tire pressure do riders use in 24" street-trials. i know is more then in pure trials, but how much more, what range are we talking about (rear/front) ? thanks!
  19. thanks i always iritate the skin on my lower leg when doing spins (because it rubs on the seat), and i was trying different heights to see if one works better than the other... (this one doesn't...) so no, not for barspins i use the normal gear (which in my case is 18/14)
  20. the ladies will be swarming now ! but seriously, appreciate it (your brakeless vids are the best out there in my opinion) Thanks, mate ! Clean is what i'm going for Well, this isn't a new ride (clicky for initial post) , and i am happy with how it rides. manuals were less stable due to the shortish chainstay, but the new and shorter stem (went from 90 to 60mm) really improved this and bunnyhops too. Really flickable and i don't find it hinders trials moves compared to 24 frames with more trialsy geos yep, double walls with 2.5 rise higher IS better
  21. Well...here's mine... (GEO: wb 1015 , cs 370, bb+20 , ha 74)
  22. love it. was thinking about a 23/18t fw combo myself
  23. nah, man! get a marino (marinobike.com) or a mielec (bikemielec.com) or a sh frame/bike. that zoot is less streety (and the ugliest version probably out there when it comes to 24") (and for the love of god (elvis), change the topic title to something more relevant) EDIT: here are some interesting options http://trialsmaster.net/categories/7/products funny...ffuuuunnyyy....
  24. yeah...sorry for the bump... turns out the echo fw's aren't coming too soon. some problems with the Chinese firm honoring their orders. i can just wait (with my now 4-pawl tensile) or get a rockman. i can get the 72 version for aprox 20 quid and the 108 one for about 25. good prices, i know, but i don't want to throw my money away if that's really the case. anyway, is the 108 version stronger/weaker/the same as the 72 one? i don't really think i need the extra clicks since i am doing street-trials sith a ffw and i don't appreciate the drag, but if it means less skips, then i'll pay the small differance. thanks for the backup
  25. geez, been away for two days and the thread started to look like something you'd find on otn (only without the word "gay" said in every sentence) anyways, been to my house at the contryside and rode brakeless (i have a few wood obstacle thinghies there), and i really liked it. I can say i found out quite a few things about body movement in these 2 days. i can really see it helping out, plus it's fun..
