yeah, one of my favorites (too bad for the music..)
-
how does less play reduce power? did you eventually manage to get the bearings out in order to change them? (i actually bought two ultimates because i thought i want something with no play for the front, and then i thought it would be weird to have a better brake on the front than on the rear..kinda silly, i know )
-
DAMN IT! i just got my ultimates...
-
got the brakes today. everythig was in the package. won't buy from t-uk again. end of story.

he responded eventually, after i threatened with legal action (don't know if this did the trick or not). he asked for 10quid postage (royalmail), payment by paypal. i replyed that i'm willing to pay only if he assures me that i get it within a week, not months, as happend to others, and only if i get a tracking number. he agreed, i payed, he sent them the next working day. i received also the tracking number (after i asked for it again). checked it, and a package is on it's way - hopefully with 2 avid ultimate v-brakes. i'll let you know when i actually get them. edit: OH, and i asked advice to tartybikes, since i was corresponding with them anyway about an order. They were exceptionally helpful and nice! i'm glad there is also this kind of people out there!

i would've bought a specialised sandblasting gun that should connect to the air compressor, but i guess it won't have enough power. thanks for clearing it up
-
Hi! do you think an airbrush compressor (used for graphic art) would be powerful enough to sandblast some aluminum bike parts (provided the right gun obviously) ? thanks!
-
the last mail i received and responded to (2 times) was on the 14th. now is 22 and no sign of this guy. what do you advise me to do? thanks (this screws up my joy of building a new bike. damn it.)
-
... aaand now he doesn't answer... f brilliant.
-
i can still put some you know..
-
if anyone wonders how the custom made reverse tugs came out, here you go http://picasaweb.google.com/marinobike/AndreiRaducanu# they should work fine, i recon. will post pictures after i get the frame and fit the wheel
-
well, i got these ones: http://bikezone.ro/produs-saboti_placute_s...l?id_produs=514 probably the same as some that were mentioned on this thread. they work great, and cost the equivalent of 3.15gbp, so "yey".
-
this two quotes pretty much answer everything. just making some conversation..
-
i ordered yesterday from selectbikes the following: a cog a stem a pair of cranks a hub a bashring and a bb and shipping price was 8 quid. tarty bikes charged 9 quid for a hope disc brake and an avid ultimate (this was for a friend). if he wants to get big prices on shipping, at least i should know before ordering and paying for them.. i sent him an email, i'll see what he is answering, before i make a bigger fuss than i should about this..
-
do you see any reason why they shouldn't? (trialtech hubs made something similar with their hub)
-
reasonable?? it's at least 3 times what selectbikes or tartybikes or a random forum user would charge. oh, in case anybody wonders what i got, is 2 ultimete v-brakes. thats all.
-
no , i didn;t get the stuff. i don't think it's dispatched yet, even if the site says Dispatched 08 Jan 2009

i recently made an order on trials-uk.co.uk (i know, it doesn't have great reviews but it has some great prices on the ultimate v-brake), and when i went through the steps of payment, it didn't charge anything for the shipping. then i got this mail: " Hi there, Thank you for your order, We are currently experiencing problems with processing your order as we have not received the full postage cost, Please can you forward us your payment details so we can debit the postage sub charge and get your order processed and completed and delivery to you. I look forward to your reply, Best Regards Dan@Trials-uk " So i said that i want to know how much postage would be before i pay for it, so i got another mail: " Hi Andrei, Thanks for your E-mail reply, I have just checked your postage and its £30,00 with DHL which takes 2 days. Please can you send the following details: Type Of card: Visa, Master etc.. Long card number Start date Expiry date Last 3 digit on the back of the card Thanks! Best Regards Dan@Trials-uk " First of all, i think it's absurd to pay 30gbp for a package that shoul cost 5gbp to ship. But let's say i can work it out and i get a decent shipping price, is it ok to ask for that data? I mean, he has access to all my money if he gets that data.. Need your input people! thanks!

yes, it is the outer bit. they don;t contradicat, but in the first picture the roller should have a bigger diameter to fit the bushing, so it's a bit confusing.
-
i think you mean the buching instead of rollers, but i get what you mean. thanks for the response. here are some pics about chain terminology for those that aren't familiar (as i was):
-
how does longer pins make the chain any stronger?
-
Ok, so i understand that 3/32 chains fit trials sprockets and trials freewheels. if this is so, why would anyone get a wider (therefore heavier, therefore less snug fit) chain ? Don't tell me because some models don't come in 3/32 version. Let's compare the same model that comes in both 1/8 and 3/32 (like the kmc Z610HX/Z510HX and kmc kool K710/K810). why would you choose the wider version if the narrower one fits as well? thanks!
-
well, i'm buiding a custom steel frame, and i asked the guy that's building it (marino) to make something like this on it (and he said he can do it): therefore i'm thinking of asking for 110 rear spacing, so i don't have to use washers, and i can still use chain tugs if i want, and mount them on the outside. i just won't be able to use snail cams but i understand they're the last option in many people's opinions.
-
one more thing. can the trialtech hub be used without snail cams? ( i'm new to the whole mod hub thing and 110 axles)
-
Hi! what crank lengh would you suggest for a 24" bike with 18/14 gear ratio (and for a 1.7m = 5.6ft tall guy like myself)? thanks!
