In answer to your question, Hubs and headsets go on how much you want to spend, If your minted go for Chris King - last for yonks and have a great guarentee (on the headset anyway) Although For a newbie it doesnt actually mean your poor so cheaper parts could be canecreek headsets to onza hubs etc. But if you want pimp parts go for deng as their basically in the middle of the price range.

Second hand bikes on here never go for more than around 600 quid. Which is half of what they would cost new. Yours I would say is worth about 400 if that, maybe 375

Not so much BIGGER muscles as that would give you more mass to lift in the first place. What you need to do is if you want to go down the gym is to work on developing fast twitch muscle fibres which gives you the power quickly, which is what you want to do when doing TGS riding. Anyone who does GCSE or A-level PE will understand.
