if you want to reuse your cog you will need a chain whip and possibly a vice, if you dont mind loosing your cog grip the cog in the vice and hit your crank arm with a RUBBER mallet

also make sure your pads are flat against your rim, I know on v brakes if the pads hit uneven on the rim this can cause squeakyness But Maguras do tend to squeak
