my mum had a tortoise when she was little, then one year they put it away for hibernation, and when they got it out it had died and rotted away leaving just the shell. hahaha. oh, we had a pheasant in out garden yesterday, not really a pet though, or mine....

did you read the motherboard manual? most have certain jumper settings you need to change before you use it. what with there being no beep i think its deffo not a gfx card or monitor problem. the fans running don't mean anything really.

just had 3 double cheeseburgers that jumped in my car on the drive home.....honest...., i'm feeling rather fat. tub of pringles sat on my desk too, but i'm managing to resist. I'm sure pringles have heroin trace in them or something. Once you pop you really really can't stop.

probabaly the same reason they keep all their spy planes a secret for decades. like 60 years ago they could fly on the edge of space in a plane and take photos of russia. I'm sure they can do a lot better than that by now. Knowledge is power as they say...

just makes you think... what sorta technology do the US air force have of this kind? I bet they could watch us taking a shit from space!...and probably do....

Dilema - To Tell Insurance Company Or Not :-s
RicH_87 replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Chit Chat
This is kinda weird, i had the exact same situation today except for the hitting part. Came upto a round about behind another car in the nearside lane, ouside lane all buggers off whilst i'm sat stuck behind some silly old bint staring at a clear roundabout. They then decided to go so i move off then they stop half onto the roundabout waiting for a car to come past that hadn't even got to the roundabout yet, causing me to almost hit them. Old people should be banned... Anyway, i would think any claim on a driver under 21 will bump the insurance up a stupid no matter how small the cost. Insurance companies know they can rape younger drivers. I'm assuming you are on your own policy? If so i would just sit tight and pay out of your own pocket for the damage. No matter how much it sucks. You just got a years no claims right? so you won't wanna be losing that already (i am assuming you are on no claims protection). Slightly OT, but how much you paid this year? Mine was £1400 last year with direct line however i got it right down to £540 with 1 years no claims this year switching to Barcleys. Although it ran out two days ago and i am still waiting for my certificate thing. ----------- Above post just reminded me. Our old estate car got hit by a truck from behind a few years ago now. It looked like just the tailgate was screwed but we ended up having it completely rebuilt and it cost more than the value of the car itself. Get a quote first and try and get some proof if you are gonna be paying it yourself. They may be old but they could easily try and rip you off, (the comment about whiplash sound to me like they will try and claim some compensation anyway), most people do. -
just wondering what this is for?

yeh sorry it came across wrong, its not MY theory, it was just something i read up on. I know we'll never know the truth really, and i don't really care either but i've been brought up seeing boths sides of any story so i just tend to learn both sides of this sort of thing and sit on my loverly fence.

Paypal, Anyone Had Customer Service Problems?
RicH_87 replied to Bonney@X-Street's topic in Chit Chat
yeh. would appear so. -
"oh no! SNAKES ON A PLANE WHAT WILL WE DO?...." "land the plane?" "yeh, land the plane sounds like a good idea...." "oh no wait,.. lets fly around for an hour and half and let the passengers deal with it, whilst they comically over react" "wow, how do you come up with such great ideas all the time?" *smug* p.s, if you are gonna do cgi, either make it amazingly real (jurassic park) or amazingly fake (Terminator 2), don't do some half assed wannabe effort which is blatently fake but is trying to hard to be realistic.

Paypal, Anyone Had Customer Service Problems?
RicH_87 replied to Bonney@X-Street's topic in Chit Chat
Hmm paypal as always been good with me, even too good believe it or not, heres two of my situations for your reading pleasure. First off, i sold a 3g phone on ebay to someone living in london. They paid via paypal, i sent it the next day and as far as i know it arrived safe and sound although i heard nothing. Almost exactly 1 month later we recieve an e-mail from paypal stating the buyer had filed a claim against us. They said they couldn't tell us why or what for, but we had 1 week to dispute it and prove we hadn't done anything wrong. We dug out the postage reciepts , a link to the auction and all the e-mails i had sent to the person. We had only recieved one e-mail rom them, written in very poor english telling us they had paid and when would they recieve the phone. Anyway, we sent it all to paypal, and they seemingly ignored the lot, took the money out of my paypal account leaving me with a negative balance and sent the money back to whoever it was that had completely robbed me. I guess they made someone a very happy customer. The other story was to my benefit. It was novermber 2004 and psp had just been released in JAP. I decided to buy an import of ebay as you do, and chose to spend that little extra to get it from a powerseller. Anyway, he ran an auction selling 10 and they were all gone in a matter of hours. However, it turned out he didn't ACTUALLY have any PSP's at all, and he fobbed me and everyone else off for around 3 weeks (i managed to get in contact with a few of the other buyers to see what was going on). Anyway long boring story short, i contatcted him many many times asking fro a refund, which he failed to give, so i filed a complaint via paypal which forced him into the same situation i was in with the phone. My money was eventually returned to my paypal account in two installments. Although i'd wasted a lot of time i was still fairly satisfied to have gotten a full refund. I don't really know why i told you all this but hey, it might help in some way. In my experience paypal is the safest and the best way to send money over the internet. Load of buisnesses wouldn't choose to use it if it 'sucked'. Just stick with it and i'm sure they'll sort it out eventually. You are lucky in some ways that they actually have any customer support for you at all. They are only there to transfer the money, and are totally independant of ebay. Its hardly their fault that the ps2 was broken. You should get onto the sellers ass about it.
