  1. bike looks good mark, nice to see you changed the seat. what stem is that you got now? it looks exactly the same as my salt one but red....
  2. funnily enough that link is from heatsink bikes, so i guess it's a reasonable suggestion.
  3. ah you're right, i've got my wires crossed somewhere. in that case i don't know, but from what i can tell blu-ray has seemed a lot less welcome for whatever reason. maybe it just sounds a little too daunting for people? where as dvd to hd-dvd is a lot easier to relate to... anyway, if i was a betting man, i would be going for hd-dvd myself, i guess we'll see soon enough, one thing is for sure there won't be two common formats unless there can be one peice of hardware to play both.
  4. because its got to compete with HD-DVD's its like VHS vs Betamax, or Mini disc vs CD's sony lost both of those battles, and by the looks of things they are likely to lose again. at the end of the day what would you prefer to be the common format? HD-DVD's which you will eventually be able rip and burn on you own computer, will be cheaper and will be used for all games/dvds, or a sony owned format which will require you to use sony endorsed software/hardware and probably cost a stupid amount more?
  5. haha ok sorry people, they just looked flat on this one: http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/1766/dscf0010mo9.jpg red? we are talking about bikes not hair ...i jest the red nips are pimp indeed, thats quite impressive, glad to see they moved on from the gold. however i bet that pimpness came at a price only a real pimp could afford.
  6. silver is definitely the better colour. i ain't too keen on the flat bars, but obviously thats personal preference, just wondering, do monty build the wheels up to your spec? like whats the deal with the red nipples? are all monty wheels white now with red nips?
  7. k i said i'd reply with what i thought, just to wrap the topic up i guess... i've got a hayes so1e with a 160mm rotor on my mod at the moment. i think it's pretty good to be honest. its certainly not got the bite of a bb7, louise or a juicy seven, or the quality *cough* of the hope's but it's perfect for what i want. it's got a nice feel to it, just enough grab it's definitely more modulation orientated, some people would say weak but i prefer to have some distance between 'on' and 'off'. i've only ridden it on rocks so far but it seemed decent enough, it didn't slip, and more importantly i didn't get arm pump over the space of 2 hours... anyway yeh, i thought i'd post that for if someone searches and finds this topic. i'm not sure what they are new, but if you are after a hydraulic disc on the cheap, then this is certainly an option as far as i'm concerned.
  8. i don't know if you are disagreeing with me or what?...cos i agree 100% with what you are saying, as it's pretty much what i've already said/tried to say regarding the promo. -i agree the riding is mostly on another level, but for those riders, and many others who have released dvd's it is average. i.e all those lines/tricks are pretty much the standard in any street dvd you get these days. -i am definitely a street lover and hold a higher respect for street riders than park riders. i hate the majority of park, although riders who can flow a good concrete park are as good as any other rider imo. -i know it's f**king immense to be pulling whips off 3 inch kickers etc, but only to the average joe. those riders can pull whips up stuff i'm pretty sure, if they felt they wanted to. i was only voicing my opinion on your original comment about that promo being great, because of the fact it had the voices riders in it. the fact it has those riders in it doesn't mean it's instantly amazing, it means it's more of the same*, which you were originally disagreeing with, but now you seem to agree? same as regards to voices, which i see as probably the best street bmx dvd ever, but that is an old dvd now in regards to progression, and i would of expected the lads to have upped the anti if they are going to the effort of making a new one?
  9. that'll be properly shit if thats your last paycheck before xmas, where i work if they underpay you/pay you wrong then you don't get it until the next payslip (when you're not on a set wage obviously).
  10. average in the world of bmx, 180s, 360s, barspins, tables, any grind variation bar nose pick overs, even whips, are all standard run of the mill street tricks these days. nose manuals, backward manuals, wallride to 270 yeh fair enough, i've pissed myself, but the majority of the tricks in there weren't anything that special in the sceme of things. by the way i am by no means a street god and i know i'll sound like i'm putting people down for shit i can't do that well, but on the whole, people who make a DVD can do all that shit easier than riding down the shops. It was a good promo, one of the best ever i agree, but the riding was definitely average, bar maybe 5 or 6 big lines.
  11. i can see where poopipe is coming from, the only unique section in the promo was dan cox's world of free coaster....which is ironically the one thing i totally hated. for me it's just appears to be another above average bmx video of pretty average bmx riding. then again, after voices i'm probabaly expecting it to grab me by the nads, when any video 'the same' as voices isn't bad at all. however it is definitely more of the same, there's no denying it.
  12. i agree it was a sweet video, very watchable and some unique riding, but i can't help think there was a lot more potential to edit it into something really really good. The footage quality was so good both riding wise and visually that it seemed a bit wasted to just stick some sum41 over the top and cut it here and there. however, it's still well worth the download, just to see the riding really,...360 bunnyhop on a long stock?!
  13. i thought you're video deserved a comment, so here you go. good riding man, i liked the down to up moves, and the fact you gapped a tiny baby skip. haha that thing is kinda cute, in a skip way.....>_>

--> QUOTE(joe b @ Nov 28 2006, 08:58 PM) ←Mod Stock UK - Local vids that weren't really that popular but they seemed the dogs bollocks to me when i first started riding; i would try my hardest for an appearance in one . Cheers, Joe. dude i loved those! especially chips ones that were sponsored by lego....hahaha! who was the guy on the really really old t-mag/t-pro? i remember he backwheeled like 11 bricks in the 'coolio' one and i was like HOLY SHIT ELEVEN BRICKS! it was funny how every video always had those 3 black railings, that drop gap across a flower bed to a round topped wall and those rocks next to a river/canal. if you still have 'coolio' i would really love to watch it again.
  15. i saw one explode and the guy lost 3 fingers and an eye.
  16. the guy at the start is like the text book example of someone talking out of their arse. there was a guy exactly like him in my year....he was a cock. ---- and something similar was at one of the festivals in the summer, except they handed out wireless earphones at the start and some guy on a computer controlled what the crowd listened too.
  17. thats a good looking bike sir, for once i didn't throw up looking at straight blade forks.
  18. hahaha when the camera went through the car window i was like "that's the dude from lord of the rings" sweet video people, good change from the norm, looks like everyone had a sweet time.

i've lost pretty much all of my old videos i'd saved from 2003 however if there was just one i could get back it would probably been boons video with afi - dancing through sunday on it, i used to watch that loads. i was just watching all the trialskings videos back yesterday as-well, and didn't see this topic. Otherside and HD1 are like too elite for words. nowadays still, that kinda riding is more impressive than a 9ft gap to front wheel, back in the days when people would do whole lines, and f**king good ones at that.
  20. yes it is wrong, but how i wish less people had cars. i cba signing it anyway. if i can't afford to run a car in the future, i'm sure i will survive somehow.
  21. hmm, sure he has balls but i'm pretty sure i've seen a guy attempt a front flip drop in at brooklyn banks. where as i'm betting that guy practiced that into a foam pit for a while before just throwing himself off.
  22. thats probably because most people would rather pay the mortgage than own a Monty.
