I did enjoy... although now it's 2010 that music selection might be frowned upon
-
sorry! but, bad choice. I've either broken or had an injury from EVERY chain tensioner appart from the rholoff, you need to spend the extra to get a quality product where it counts. Hope the trial tech works out for you...
-
If its speed your after use some costic soder! Did my stem from black to silver in less than 3 minutes. Vaseline or lube all the threads first and use latex gloves, is strong stuff!

Legend, I hope this works, I will try tomorrow If it does I solute you sir! EDIT: I just looked, and the outside of my frame is far from flush, very oddly shaped and many groves... I'm thinking back to chain tugs again. Another thing I need to ask is what size are Chris king fun bolts, because standard 10mm chain cams wouldn;t fit over the threaded section. Are they 12mm or 14mm at the threads? Thanks

So I've built up my new Hydroxx (origonal frame - bought second hand) and I have a Chris king hub! this means I can't fit snail cams This is because a kign hub takes up the full 135mm At the moment I have just upgraded to a Heavy duty axle and I rode today for only half hour with no tensioner in place and everything was fine but surely I can't assume this set up is going to last? Does anyone run a Chris king with horizontal dropouts? I'd like to know If the heavy duty bolts can just hold under trials use? I know that another option is using one snail cam and stretching the frame out (Adam from Tarty does this) but for me this makes my cranks hit my brake setup (its all very close up there) so i'm considering chain tugs. Under these conditions can anyone confirm this is my best option? or add a suggestion please? Needing help, Dave

Update, Idiots only sent out the axle itself. Now they claim it isn't advertised as the kit and they have removed the link. What a bunch of useless w*nk*rs! Never order from rutland cycles!
-
Just wanted you all to see this, found a bargain I believe... http://www.rutlandcycling.com/17898/Chris-...mpaign=pid17898 Axle, Collar and fun bolts all for £67.99

Hey guys, I'm about go to my first horizontal dropout frame and need some advice... Basically my current set up is going over but I have a Chirs king hub with QR style axle... Is it essential for me to change to a heavy duty axle and fun bolts? It seems expensive on Tarty at £70 + £35 for bolts. Also it states you need an adjusting collar but I couldn't find it on tarty or any further info on this matter. Anyone made the jump? cheers again, Dave

Legend, thanks for that! Definately the type of geo im after so i'll be having that. I think its going to be lighter than my 07 control too

Hi guys. Been googling and searching for ages and the original hydroxx has become a bit of a ghost... I'm looking for wheelbase (with 35 or 45 rake specified), BB rise, Head tube angle, chain stay length and weight? I'm after official/exact figures not estimates where possible, but whatever you know please share... This is to help me decide whether to buy one second hand, cheers Dave
-
When will these be available. I'm about to buy a frame and this might make me wait... Would want one in silver too for the record, looks great! No need to add color. How do you have one? Sponsor?
-
Where can i get one? Are they still selling?

I thought I had a great joke to add to this thread, but I realised its the TRIALS forum.... so I didn't have it sus'd!
-
Not so much a joke as some good quick humorous responses to the knob who asks you.... "where's your seat?" ..... 1) The intellectual response ... "where's your hat?" 2) The humerus response..."In the wash" 3) The sarcastic response... "It's by there mate" (pointing at where the seat would be and looking rather unaffected) 4) If your brave enough, or not out-numbered... "Shit, I left it at your mum's house, It worked well mind..." 5) If your a little insane, to be done overdramatically and falling to the ground.... "oh my god, my seats gone. Where the hell has my seat gone? AAARGGGHHHHH"

I really want to build a 20" I want to do it on the drip beginning of next year. Super light/tough top spec My problem is, I don't want to go full boat without riding some variance... I want to try out a white sky, echo lite/pure, GU somehow? anyone in south wales with these bikes? I ride a high spec echo control and an inspired 24" and if anyone is kind enough to just let me have a tiny try you can hold onto either of my £2k high specks while i ride along side you for security. My mock white sky build came to £2280 and it would be insane to buy it without trying one, especially with that crazy geometry koxx have just gone too. With benito on the silver sky, you've gotta wonder.... Who is riding this thing?
-
Is this a rockman frame or... ?
-
Thank you. I think im going to try coustiliers on my 24, and snowies on my 26", im also going to try snowies in v-backings on my 26" too

I know the main white and yellow pads by heat sink pads are posted as the same and are also the same price but has anyone whose ridden with both noticed any difference? I've got a lightly ground rim, and for some reason the TNN LGM's are performing really badly! Before anyone accuses my setup, I've been riding for 8yrs+ and I'm getting better results out of the Blue Rock Pads (Non metal backings - strange?) My main question is do you think these pads in metal backs will be my best shot as the TNN LGM's Didn't work out and i'm looking for some more bite over my Rock Pads. Finally are the coustilier pads also available from heatsink good on lightly ground? There is a world of information on tarty about these kind of things but nothing on heatsink! I know there are lots of pad reviews. But I don't want to hear about one set of pads from one rider. I want to hear from a rider that has had multiple experiance with all of the pads/most of the ones above. Thank you PS - Needing new pads for rear HS33 26" (currently koxx blue), looking for new rear HS33 24" (currently rock pads) for improved performance and Needing new pads for front avid V-brake (currently Spanish fly on worn grind - best brake in the world/slightly dangerous but i love it)

yeah its a wheel swap i guess... just different types. static wheel swap, running kick to wheel swap, bunny hop wheel swap, two wheel surge to wheel swap. Call it whatever u like Its all good fun. manual to wheel swap always looks good
-
lol... To front wheel swap, assuming that you can pedal kick already... position yourself just over a bikes length away from the wall. And come at the wall at a slight angle (30 degrees) which side is up to you, but its suggested that you do it angled with your back foot inside as you get more clearance... To pull the move in the style shown on the video you pedal kick to back wheel and lock the rear brake. Allow your front wheel to come lower than the wall then as you kick again (as if you were going up to back wheel) throw your weight forward and lock your front brake as you catch the bike. Now get your weight back again (like when you do an endo) and as it peaks, you have to throw the bike off the front wheel and up and you should catch it on the back wheel. Its easier at speed, but is scary to start. The easiest way to learn is by doing a front wheel gap to a curb, but instead of rolling the break out, you snap it out and try and catch the bike back on the back wheel where u started. Gd luck David

Hey Dan, I'm also learning this atm. I'm amusing you mean the spin that is landed on the back wheel and rotated around. There are two/three things you'll need to know how do to to get this move smoothly... Firstly a 180 gap, where you gap and put 180 degrees of rotation in Secondly (alternately) a 360 bunny hop (about 270 will be fine if your struggling) Finally a backwards manual where you roll backwards on just the back wheel My advice is is to work on the backwards manuals first. Ride forward, lock your brake to get up on your front end and roll out backwards (bringing your pedals with you requires good timing) now lift the front, lean back and continue to bring the pedals with you. A great example of this part of the trick can be seen in this video at 1:19-1:21 Once you have the backwards manual dialed you need to throw a 180 gap/360 bunny hop which you catch on the back wheel half way around. As the wheel lands you continue to rotate but allow the back wheel to roll backwards as in the backwards manual bringing the crank with you. Very hard to put it all together... Hope this brake down helps. Any further info you want, just ask Dave

Ok, simple Idea here, we're going to end up a definative full list of bike related video games by everyone here posting if they have anything to add. It can be trials (preferably), bmx, motocross or even a game that has a bike mini game or biking part to it. The set format for your posts is as follows... Number) Game title - Type - Platform/Console - brief description - your rating out of ten Here are some varying examples that I can think of... 1) Trials HD - Motorbike Trials - PC - State of the art physics engine, side view trials game, addictive - 8/10 2) Matt Hoffmans BMX - BMX (park) - PS1 - 3D Roaming BMX trickster in the style of the famous Tony Hawks Pro Skater series - 6/10 3) California Games - BMX (half pipe) - Snes - Old school half pipe and tricks, one of many games, side view, overly simple - 1/10 4) No Fear Downhill mountain biking - MTB (DH) - PS1 - Rear viewed racer, sloppy controls but good fun - 4/10 5) MX vs ATV - Motto cross - PS3 - MX part allows 3D roaming, dirt jumps allow rotation and tricks, race mode - 7/10 Please contribute all that you know to this list, Thanks. Dave
