If you get caught in a light drizzle you will discover how dirtier they are than tar. The aluminum that had come off from your rim are sticking to the honey (or coke) and will begin to drip out of the rim with the water. Water is like an off switch. Your brakes immediately disappears .

Mine just snapped. I would buy the same bars if I find one since it creaked like a year before finally snapping. (didn't know it was the bars, always though of the stem not fitting well on the bars....long story). I was using a Funn FOF. Decent weight and very thick. When it finally cracked I was going to my rear wheel... it snapped on a pedal kicked, towards me. The crack started from the bottom of the bar. I had the presence of mind to jump off and lock the rear tire via the cut part of the bars so my bike won't fly off. The whole event was quite slow. I always though the bar would stab me in the chest

1.5" steerer according to Frank-the-welder (?) has less welding area on the headtube (surprising? yes but when explained it was very logical) hence less strength on the frame, I suppose you will have another part to fear on breaking aside from forks. Larger welding areas was achieved through CNC+tubes right? Look at the Zoo fork. Maybe it all boils down to material and manufacturing technique like welding and heat treating plus I second the through axle. But I think through axle will benefit disk setup more than magura or vees (on the fork). edit, board censors efff-teee-dub-you

Sometimes the quality of practice helps. A buddy of mine practice very smart. His warm up routine basically sums up my entire practice so he gets farther in trials than me.

Quick question.... Is there an official rule on what consist of advertising in TF? If I follow it correctly if your are not paying to advertise here you may not mention any other product here? Just a scenario: If I have seen another "new" trials bike and posted it here would that be counted as advertisement? If I know the owner and I could let you guys get in touch with him would that be violating this advertising rule? Marino doesn't pay here and he was mentioned is that considered as advertisement too? Sounds like it borders on a very thin line.

I've encountered this problem with an HS-22 bled with water. The piston "grew", its wasn't the seal on the piston but the piston itself ... I just got a 1000 & 300 sand paper, sanded the piston with the rough 300 first then finished it off with the 1000, re-bled it and it was fine.

Nice build. Quick question, did you drill that Carbon booster? A friend runs it in his vees and it's really stiff.

Do you plan to fix the chain wrap on your cog? Looks like you have only a few in contact with the chains.

Any pictures of your rear tire + vbrakes? Is there such a thing as having a wrong diameter of a wheelset?

Goodluck and congratulations TRA, hope you make videos riding ozonys soon.

The bike wants to go farther than you after you kick it. But your feet limits the bike so it doesn't come off.

Aaron> oh sorry UCI. psycholist > Oh yeah, I will need to have that covered. Thanks. I will have help from guys who put up DH races and hopefully by someone who organized an Asian trials comp twice but I will still have to ask him.

To hopefully promote trials, I'm making a comp for beginners. (A little backgrounder here). Since I have no basis, what do you guys think are the best things to do for a beginner's comp? I need suggestions on all aspect. What would the best layout for a competition geared for beginner's skill level that would be very fun both for the contestants and the people who would watch it? Hopefully to promote both people getting into trials and encouraging those who are starting out. I will put a demo as well done by those who are advanced in the program.

hi Matt thanks for the response, I think I got validated already (thank you). I will try to post it tomorrow since its quite late here right now. Do you think I could just quote it there in a new thread or can I request it to be moved by a mod?

What Homemade Items Have You Made?

I have made this tool for an old Hope lever, wish that I made it with a 6061 though. -
An introduction might be in order... Hello, I'm Patrick from the Philippines. I ride stock and I consider myself a beginner. Although its almost 2 years since I started it is quite hard to learn at first since most of the skills I have figured out on my own and no criticisms were available. I come from a country where you couldn't buy trials parts to save your life. Well thats a little bit of an exaggeration. Stock frames are impossible to buy and there are a few mod frames left in bike shops. Mountain bike parts are the best substitute to trials specific parts, HS33's can only be bought second hand, there is only one, yes, one new HS33 on sale in the entire country that we know of and it cost more expensive than a Dengura. The best alternative for us is always buy abroad. There are less than 20 people who ride trials in the entire country that I know of (past and present). Some live thousands of kilometers across different islands (the Philippines is made up of more than 7,100 islands). I know them since I made an effort to reach out and get to know them including those who introduced trials in our country. I make way for the few of us correspond via text, internet and sometimes ride together. There is a legitimate international trials comp here every 2 years and a minor comp available only to 9 of us since every now and then. It's like a few hours travel by plane and quite financially difficult so many of us couldn't go there. My dilemma... I really want to promote bike trials in the Philippines. I have influenced probably 4 people directly or partly into learning trials. I have organized rides that turned into a kind of demo in a public park at least every month. From the point of view of you guys, coming from a country with plenty of trials riders, what do you guys think we should do to promote the sport more. Any suggestion is well appreciated.
