  1. Anyone had the "manual dream?" basically you dream that your riding a bike and manualling constantly with easy, i can never really see where. just down hill slightly and perfectly. When you wake up you really believe you can manual, but never can. Know a few people who have had it lol. Generally people who can't manual have this dream.
  2. Not my best photos but I figured people would be interested in seeing some of the crazy stuff they did. Ali with a drop. Stan with same, not in focus i know.. Lewis Ali sidehop to sign before turning and gapping front wheel to back on wall. Lewis Stan Ali to front Stan big upwards gap different angle, same gap. ALi teapotting
  3. as said above, it would prove difficult getting the shifters round the bends. Road sti levers give quite a bit of slack so they can be fitted. MTB shifter won't offer that. Then you have the problem that MTB shifter don't index with road mechs, and if you change the mech to a MTB mech then it won't work correctly with road chainset 3 options : 1) ride as it is and get used to it, won't take long. 2)buy some STI road shifter (brake/gear as one.) quite pricey new though. 3)buy a flat bar and a set of shimano R440 shifters (something like that,), these are MTB flat bar style shifters but indexed for road use. Personally I'd leave the bike as it was and get used to it Tim
  4. Driving through a small town near Leeds called Kippax and seen a few locals riding. I'm assuming they will be newbies and wondered who they are. Perhaps meet up for a ride as I'm local to them. Let me know, Tim
  5. Cytech level 2, did it in 4/5months when i finally got someone to test me and check through the book etc. The tutors/testers kept quitting before that so i had a book full of health and safety, laws etc. Its really easy and anyone who fails it shouldn't be allowed near bikes. They don't perform cytech level 1 anymore because if you could PDI a bike, you passed. Level 3 isn't operating at the moment in a lot of places as they're trying to change it towards an apprentice or something similar.
  6. Im pretty sure halford discount is 15% which is no where near trade And cytech can take a few months if your fast with the written side of it, its just so boring which is the main problem with it. My gran could do the practical side its that easy.. Tim

  8. drop down bars may seem strange and uncomfortable but you get three different position of riding. Your normal flat bar position, slightly further forward and on the drops. Be much better than a flat bar. depending on what he is carrying with him, tourer or racer for sure. If luggage is getting transported ahead by car then the racer will prob be a good option - light, fast, different riding positions. If he is carrying most of luggage with him the tourer will be better - panniers and mudguards all round to carry everything and keep a bag off his back, a more relaxed position than MTB or road bike for the big hills and loaded bike. With three positions to ride in too. I would look at the tricross, though technically a cross bike so mudguards and panniers fit but won't come with, plus it has slight more aggressive stance the a typical tourer. Or check the link below, £399, average drivechain, comes with panniers and mudguards, excellent reviews from mags, good solid "buy me and go" bike. Gel saddle that could be changed to a brooks perhaps. tourer thats perfect hope this helps, Tim
  9. Yeah I could have. They don't look too saturated on this moniter. Only one notch up above the preset normal suturation on camera as well so didn't think it would be that noticable. Straight out of the camera, resized and uploaded to get it done same night. I'll prob go back into them, crop the ones needed and change the saturation. Post them again for feedback Cheers. Tim
  10. Saturation is me playing with onboard camera settings. Been playing with different custom settings to see effects and forgot to choose standard or one with slightly lower saturation Flash is me not having a tripod/light stand because again I'm stupid and forgot lol so hand held flash, waving it around with one hand, camera in the other trying to make sure flash it pointing in correct place. Which is prob why some appear to dark, so too light and some just right. Angles are just me not getting it the way of other watching, others taking pictures or turning around to see one of amazing riders about to try something silly. I should have asked a few people to do stuff more than once but I don't like bothering them lol. unless its stan who thinks my fav words are "one more time please Stan?" Cheers for the comments Chris, much appreciated coming from you. Useful stuff rather than silly remarks. Cheers, Tim
  11. You recognise the last tap? impossible to describe where it is in the quarry but one of cousts did it in a vid few years back, really really hard. That was a beast line too.
  12. he did 1 stroke hop to front wheel on the slope then flicked to back like it was nothing lol
  13. Vincent and the Tartycrew rode Backcown quarry today plus loads of other riders. Adam Ali Vincent Phil Stan Ben Stan looking at you.. Matt Vincent Ben Vince Vince - massive gap Stan - massive gap from slope rock right at back. Waddy Ali Vince front to back Silly tap with a crazy run in of different levels, rocks and overhang.. Thats some of the best ones. hope you like, Tim
  14. 340!! lol. Those guys with something to do with the quarry were firing loads. Had it on continuous and from Phil sidehopping one of them just held to trigger down lol. Bet they got thousands. Got a few nice ones, should have brought a tripod for me flash but didn't think. Best ones resized now. Uploading as i type.
  15. usually flick through riding pics to see some crap taken with a phone thats all blurry so this makes a nice change. Nice pics, really like some of them. few angles need to be tweaked and bit more variation. other than that, great.
  16. Got 67 pics, haven't checked them yet but looking at rear screen about 50 plus are pretty good ones.
  17. Ive just seen episode 6 from season 4. downloaded from a friends as my internet connection is crap, its what you get living miles from city centre. Anyhow, just got Sky and wonder where they are at? Can i tune in or will i need to download a few more until i catch up? cheers dudes.

    Workstands.

sturdier but if its for a road bike then prob get the cheaper one. although singletrack mag had the revolution for something stupid like 5 years and its still going strong.
  19. Good advice I received: Its a lot to pay back but once working just let it come out of your account etc and forget about it. There is no point what so ever in paying back anything more than the minimum they require each month. student loan is the lowest interest on any loan you'll ever get. Instead of paying more back each month, put any extra/spare money into a savings account toward a house/flat mortgage. Why pay more back on student loan to then borrow for a house at higher interest later, it just doesn't make sense.
  20. Outdoor Show last month. Went down with Danny Mac, Frasier and Andrei plus more. This was filmed whilst down there, its a long one with interviews in between but some of the snippets in between are wicked so persevere.. here
  21. first few are onboard flash as mine is getting repair at sigma. Ali C Bigman Ben Travis, the grass is always greener on the otherside... Waddy Bigman Travis big gap Judders Ali borrowing Adams flash.. Stan the basher big gap to backwheel Lewis Adam (busy background so it looks strange, otherwise it may have been nice.) Travis, difficult sidehop from pointed rock below same from Stan panning Stan, wanted one more to get it perfect but it starting hailing again.. hope you like, cheers. Tim
  22. As said, he does make full vids. The thing with Danny is that he pushed himself and riding so much, so fast that once something is filmed it suddenly becomes stail because a week later he does the same line but backwards or something. Awsome Dan, can't believe you did it when I wasn't there though.
  23. Guy at work has one of these, changed the fork to a rockshox revalation. put some discs on, and they ride amazing. Geo is just like a bmx, spins well and manuals nicely. For the price I can't think of much better really.
