Blimey! Validate this man! -
Ive ran Koxx forks before and didnt snap them, but then again i dont usually tank to front wheel or hook, but been put through there places with taps! i was always checking them for signs of wear or cracks coming on, the 1st lil creak on the front and the forks were out getting aa good check! hahaha and is a pain to keep de-greasing / re-greasing them up, not worth the hastle! Just get some Echo Teams / lites.... there both a lot better value for money and everyone runs em! so they cant be that bad! if not look into some Viz forks or something... to be honest most of the forks on the market are pretty solid, just depends if your a weight weenie, or want something cheep and cheerfull!! the Viz ones are good if you want curved... if you want straight forks just wack some old Onza 1s on if your not bothered about the weight! there really durable, fresh lick of paint or something!

Yep agreed, every T-mag I've ever ridden was absolute gash! if i was you I'd keep the old bike till i got validated then looked in the f/s wanted section as you can get a top spec'ced 1300+ bike for about 500-600.... ive brought 2nd hand and as long as you deal with a seller with good feedback will be awsome! will ride nicer and you wont have to be thinking about upgrading it! just saving all your money for when it breaks! hahaha hope ive helped

How Long Did It Take You To Become Validated?
!Billy_BOY! replied to mountian goat's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Well to be honest you havent posted here much.... the system is to just protect the full members chatt from bots and total morons who can't write out in propper English! I read MadManMikes sticky thread at the top of the screen a while ago and its really made me think about my posts! so try reading that all the way though some really good advise in there -
Well.... what type of riding have you been into before? do you like long or short bikes? high BB (bottom bracket) or a low BB? People on here will tell you what they think is good but you really have to get out on rides borrow peoples bikes and decide what you want to do. If your riding a 04 saracen at the moment maybe something like a Base would do you proud.... What ever frame you get i would really advise you dont go for a long bike coming from the short bike, you'll proably find it hard to control and not be able to control its length. If i was you i would look at the short Pure or Control just think there solid frame which ride really well, As for components on a Stock it should have all round ProII's, dengura (if your loaded) or a heatsink adapter and a good vee brake would be a mint set up (XTR brake) Probably Echo rims for sheer strength... Middleburns on Tensile UCI cranks..... front vee or BB7... (203mm of course).... Well thats my dreamish stock! hahaha
-
Just try to relax when your riding, stick your bum a bit out the back bend your legs, but try to stand up, use your arms and the momentum for your kick to take little hops, dont try to bounce massivly up and down, just try to stay on the same spot (or a lil backwards) while hopping

Tar Or Grind? Which One Do You Think?
!Billy_BOY! replied to jacobias's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I would never pay anyone to grind my wheel! its really easy to just do it yourself, theres some guides in the wiki on how to do it. But i really do prefer grinds, there a lot more reliable, tars sticky and messy, unreliable, goes gash in the wet, can just stick the pads to your rim (which you dont want before a drop or a gap) I find that with a grind you can "feel" your brake a lot more and you know how your brake will feel all the way round the rim, instead of having a massive sticky patch of tar on a patch on your rim. So definatly grinds you'll never go back if you do a good one. Apparently Wilko's do best grinding disks, think its the metal ones? Sometimes put a dabb of tar on my rim halfway through a ride if my brakes playing up, but when i get home it means i have to re-grind it! cant stand tar!
