  1. Don't forget "Dan the Frying Pan!". Yea, I haven't been to Southend for years, so to go there on a bike is a real treat too. Would like to see a big summer ride, so spread the word.
  2. Well our train shall be there just after 9:30 if we leave at 8, so meet at 9:45 at the station?

    Adeve-5

Looking forward to ADEVE 6, Steve always does a good job with the videos.
  4. I don't have a clue as to station it is, but I know from Braintree it goes all the way to Liverpool street, so should be Victoria. (Anyone confirm me on this). Don't have a clue for the time, we'll choose nearer to the event, might get an early train. =D
  5. Well I asked around yesterday at Clacton and a few people wanna ride Southend, and us Braintree lot haven't riden there and would like to. Its three weeks from yesterday (2nd June), mainly because I've been to two rides in two weeks, and am in need of some bike bits, need to save some money too. Also it would to see good turnout. Who's up for it, We might need some help about what station to go to, and possibly have anyone from the area to meet us there as we don't know Southend very well. -Tom EDIT: Still ride on the 23rd if you like, but Me and Reece will be there on the 30th.
  6. G-U. If it was Goo, it would be spelt Goo or Gu, not both capatilised like "GU". What about "ZHI"?, is that pronounced Z-H-I? or Zee? Or "Czar", I say it like Tsar, but my friend says it like Caeser. Same thing goes to Adamant, I used to call it Adam-Ant. You say tomatoe, I say tomatoe (Doesn't work on forums. =( ) You say Furtardo, I say Furtado (=P)
  7. Ah I remember one, I was trying to shorten a Hs33 hose without having to rebleed, so to do that my TPA had to be on full minus so there was little or no pressure on the fluid. So I thought, If I take the lever out there is no pressure at all, piston then pops out and gets air into the system. Then I had to pay for a rebleed. =(
  8. Tis morning now, had a hard time deciding whether to go or not with my brake problems, but screw it, lets ride.
  9. Done it all man, with my old bike I only put a few spots of tar around the rim and let it spread, with my current set-up I've tried that and tried using loads where it would normally stick. I'm just hoping that this booster makes a lot of difference.
  10. That is an option I may resort to, but it doesn't answer the question. I have the same brake, same pads, same set-up, same tar, just a different rim, but I've cleaned that and tarred it.
  11. I ditto that lo, from the interest shown it appears I will be sidehopping most stuff tommorow. =D
  12. C'Mon, think of ideas you have thought that sound really good but are so obviously dumb. *In lieu of Chocolate teapot, helicopter ejector seat etc* Mine was tar pads. Man how stupid was that.
  13. I set-up my pads and slave close to the rim, so it doesn't have far to pull, but sitll getting the problem. I am running tensile mounts in the direction so the slave can go closest to the rim, meaning less strain on the pistons, and I kept to the same rule when set-up on the T-Vee. I'll consider a grind if all else fails.
  14. Well I'm officiall annoyed, as if my trials budget hadn't gone overboard on expenses already, this may have made things worse. I started off on 2 bolt mounts (Maguras on Evo mounts), on my T-Vee. The rear brake was fine and good, only needed a few spots of tar and would hold like a beast, I also put a bit extra tar on if I wanted the brake to lock a bit intentionally. Towards the end of my T-Vee I changed to Onza Citrus pads and these worked better as I could feather the brakes as well as have them lock. Recently I bought a T-Pro frame, and put all my bits on that, obviously new mounts, new wheel and gearing. Since I've had my T-Pro built, I have been having problems with my brake not holding, Its fine if I'm pedal hopping in a line, backwheeling a wall that I can only just make, or sidehopping. However, If I backwheel a wall that I can easily do or do a big gap, or anything that results in my weight being over the back and the front end up high, then the brake has no affect at all and slips completely (resulting me falling off the back), no squeak's or anything. Same thing happens if I try backwheeling a wall higher than what I can do, on my old bike my wheel would hit the edge, weight back, and the brake would hold but slip a tiny bit (with a little squeak) due to the weight, but this was okay as the brake was working to an extent. On my T-Pro, I backwheel something higher I can go and when the wheel hits the edge, the backwheel just spins/slips even though the brake is being held, not even a squeak is produced during the slip and would normally happen. I've tried numerous different ideas but nothing has worked. (I'm running a smooth rim with tar) Cleaned the rim, cleaned the pads, changed the pads, set the brakes up perfectly, Used no tar, used normal amount of tar, used too much tar (would stick like a bitch If I did this with old bike), put tar on in the reverse direction. One thing I have invested in is a booster, I noticed my frame flexes, but I only had a cheapy flimsy Magura booster on a 2 bolt mount on my T-Vee (This still had flex in the frame). I know a couple of people with this frame and other Onza frames who had been running without a booster for a good long time, and they did not have this problem. I've ordered my booster and shall try it, but I still feel concerned that this is not all that is behind this. If its not my frame flexing then what can it be? -Tom
  15. =O Looks like the Clacton ride that was planned to be big is going to be very small. =(
  16. You can say that again. Shame Tom, would like to see how you handle the rocks, maybe we can make the plans in your favour next time.
  17. MC Hammer had a Saturday morning show too. You can't touch this....Hammer.
  18. Surely its all about peoples limits? Example being is that I can't exactly sidehop too high, as I'm only really starting out with sidehops and have quite a bit to go, but tucking is bringing the bike up into you and thus getting higher. If I'm only good enough to do say 25", then I'll need to tuck to be able to get to that height, until I can do much higher walls then I can do a 25" sidehop without a tuck. Think of it like this, theres people here who can sidehop 50" and would require a lot of tuck, but 50" is their highest for the time being, so anything lower (say 30") would require hardly any tuck as they can do it in a breeze. My highest sidehop is about 24" so far but of course still got room for improvement, but as its my highest or my current maximum I would need to tuck to be able to get that height.
  19. Tensiles are pretty good freewheels and don't really cost an arm and a leg compared to some freewheels. However my friend has one and it skips basically everytime we ride, so I think that has put him off getting another Tensile. I'm currently riding an Eno, feels great but I don't really have much to compare to, its definately a vast improvement over a rear dicta freewheel, and feels a tad smoother than my mates Tensile, but maybe thats just me or because I'm used to my own bike. I think Tensile would probably be your best option, cheap and easy.
  20. Yea I like some Madonna stuff. But MC Hammer ***!
  21. What you getting from Chain Reaction? Can you remember the booster please mate?, also does it need any extra bolts, or does it just slip on the current ones I got? Bearing in mind that I'm on 4 bolt mounts now.
  22. Nice one Dan, should be easy to find us, just turn left at pier and keep going.
  23. Yea we will be along the sea like last time, thats the way we always go. See you there mate. =D
  24. Well I wouldn't do anything with my right forward, not even ride in a straight line it just felt iffy at the knees, but I was just saying how its making me to adapt to right foot forward. Another example of this is in sidehopping, when ledges become high, its best to sidehop in the direction of your back foot, so people can do it one way with their natural foot, or switch using their other foot to go the other way.
