"Practice makes perfect"? "Never give up"? This is a video to show that you can get there in the end.
-
Yea I went there in 2003, I thought it was called Slide and Splash?, or was that the other one? Those pictures equate to about half or 1/3 of the whole park, great place, imagine it like the water park on that 2-parter Malcolm in the Middle episode. Place I stayed in Albuferia basically was on the strip, can't quite remember the name, I think it was Villanova. Really is good, and old town is good, loads of places to eat and have fun, I went by taxi, the drivers are mental! Do yourself favour Alan and go there. Looking good, front wheel isn't an Alex rim, I believe its an Onza "Skin" Rim.
-
My friend recently purchased some of the new ZOO! pads, he was using them on a completely smooth rim (absolutely no tar), so I was a bit skeptical first. I went for a gap to front wheel on his bike and it locked so damn hard, I almost went over the bars, was really impressed. So either new pads, or a bit of tar. =P

I think there may have been a couple of times when my front wheel didn't quite hit it, but all else they did. Looks at the first few taps, my backwheel hits right on the edge and would have held in the morning but just manages to slip out. Currently I'm treating tapping like backwheeling, althought it just shoots me up a little higher than what a normal backwheel would. Will consider the bunnyhops but I will need a lot of practicing, I had troubles doing it on a 2ft grass bank, yet alone landing accurately on rear wheel.

All This Rain - Consequences Devistating!
Captain Scarlet replied to Mod Man Leo's topic in Chit Chat
Tis gay, never floods around Essex area, all we get is the odd big puddle. It was raining from like 11-2 non stop, then by 4 it dried up. -
I had a thought, and WD40 can thin the grease within the BB. As for bunnyhopping, I began learning but don't like the technique of.

Well, went to Witham today, I had this tap nailed this morning when my brake was holding very good, but by the end of the day my brake really sucked and took me a few attempts to get. I've only just learnt how to tap and my best is 30", and I have been riding for for almost 8 months altogether. Linky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNU7hyjKJh4 EDIT: Reminds me a lot of Steve-o's video of him trying to rear wheel sidehop an electric box. EDIT EDIT: Blmae YouTube for the crappy quality. Enjoy, -Tom

Thats what I tell all the n00b's who think they must get a ZOO! Python as their first bike. Nice sidehop, I imagine the gearing was a bit of a shock, I'd like to see how for you could gap with that.
-
Static level gapping (pallet to pallet), I have done around 5' 6", little bit more if I hop into it. Rolling gap I can do 6' 6".
-
Most popular (or most common mod frame), is definately the T-Pro/T-Comp frame. As for a recommended bike, I've heard good things about the Zona Zip, it looks nice, has a similar geo to the reputable 05 Python's and come's with a bashplate fitted. Also consider the value of this frame compared to others.

How does it wreck the rim?, you can easily remove it with petrol, surely a grind does more damage? I liked tar in the time I used it most, its good because if you are doing a move where your brake is a very vital part of the move (drop gaps for example), you can stick an excess amount on and then this will make it stick intentionally, it is also good as you can vary amount so you can have a brake that you can feather a bit.

Should have got a fat kid to sit on it, then you could have filmed it. Or say to a kid "Here mate do you want this wheel", as his face begins to glow, break the wheel.

How Do Some Of You People Manage To Juggle Your Lives About?
Captain Scarlet replied to Davetrials's topic in Chit Chat
How do I juggle my life about, well I can juggle. No seriously, I go to school, work 3 days a week after school, want to ride, want to go out with mates, want to meet up with a girl every now and again, and not forgetting the odd family event or party every now and again. Sometimes I have to make a sacrifice or compromise, such as not riding so I can meet up with a girl, or riding late after work. If I want to keep my life in balance I need to do each thing I want to do equally and sometimes have to give up something that I want to do. -
I think my brother had same trouble with someone who didn't send a game or something. He said to me that if you get onto PayPal they will contact the person who conned you, and ask for an explanation, if they don't reply after a certain amount of time, then the money is taken out of their account and put back into yours.

Ryan is amazing for his age, very controlled and smooth, he is definately going to be big in competition trials. Well done.

I think there will either be very few or no trials specific shops at all. I mean, what percentage of Britain's population does trials riding?, it not like having a Video game specific store, as the percentage is much different. Of course trials is growing, but its nowhere near big enough to have a few trials specific shops, I think our local bike shops that stock the odd trials parts is the closest we can get. The bike shop I work out is pretty good for trials, most of the guys who work there are ex trials bikers, they stock Onza, Diamondback, and Phase trials bikes, and can order in lots of parts. For now, ordering from Tarty or Selectbikes is good enough for me. Besides, theres nothing quite like getting home from school or work and ripping open a package that has your name on it, containing trials parts.

As for your second guess, it might not necessarily be a snapped axle, but check it as I've had an axle that has bent rather than snap, and it produced a similar reaction to what you mentioned.

Yea you can get onto YouTube but often Administrator's will have the flash player removed. www.boratproxy.com www.hidemyass.com One that usually works for me is to type in Defilter on Google, and they work everytime, as Online Proxy's sometimes include the keyword that the website has been filtered by. (Such as YouTube). Or better still, try http://Tv.isg.si no filter there. =P

I love flatland BMX, its probably the one style of BMX that I would actually want to take up. The even more amazing thing is that most of these people (and some of the best), ride flatland brakeless.

Well if this was to happen, I would be totally against it. I feel that Britain is too lenient and gives other races and countries too much of a chance, true, not every muslim is going to be a terrorist, but think back to ways of punishment, if one person in a group did something wrong and didn't come forward then the whole group should be punished or not given certain privelleges. I am not a racist as I believe everyone is different and has their own story to tell, but Britain is becoming over populated, in some circumstances I believe it is acceptable for people living in other countries to move to Britain permenantly (such as Asylum seekers), but if the majority of the muslim population was to come to Britain, what is there left for the main British Christian population? I believe that if this was true then the money could be spent on more worthwhile things, I don't mind in the building of a mosque because the devoted muslims in this country need to pray and worship as part of their everyday life, but its not fair to spend a huge sum of money that will only benefit one group of people, when it can be spent in hospitals or public transport where it every group of people as anyone can use these public places.

Well Jake you've already started off well and hopefully you'll be able to make a bit more of a trials scene in Braintree. There are quite a few members around the Essex area who usually ride in different spots around Essex. Best places are Chelmsford, Clacton, Southend, hopefully we should be having a largish ride in Braintree in the summer. Have you got your bike yet? Look forward to hearing from you.

Ah I wanted to see a dual disc Czar, they look swish, especially with those green rims that will retain the colour on the sidewalls. =D But forged Echo cranks?, out of the huge variety of choice you guys have you chose those? =P

I believe the reefer's had a 1 1/8th headset on them. Yea my mate has one, handles like poo to be honest, but is brilliant as a starter bike.

What Wheel Build To Get?
Captain Scarlet replied to Charlie Jennings's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I'd buy a cheaper full built wheel if I was in your shoes, or re-use your old rim. Whats the point in buying an expensive wheel if your not going to go too big, you could spend that money on trials DVD's to learn some good techniques.
