  1. On a mod with 160 rotors, from sidehopping (in the direction of the discs), unless you hit your front rotor at the same time, it is physically impossible to hit the rear. Even if you slip down to chainstay, it still clears it. I'm quite a lover of the dual discs, the brakes just feel so solid (at least Hope's do), and stop you as soon as you pull the lever a tiny bit. But sometimes this can be annoying, (at least I found) on street, as I had a habit of dragging my brake a bit, as soon as I went on a friends Ti, I found the brake would lock because of this. I think they are great, look good, sound good (well no sound) and work good. And they are definately beneficial in natural/competition.
  2. I found it really amazing how brake noises can vary so much. I remember I had my Onza T-Vee, with Evo mounted rim brakes, but they wouldn't make any squeaking noises (standard pads, smooth rim, and tar), just an audible clonking noise as they stuck to the rim and vibrated the mounting plate. I then change rim and frame, smooth rim, no tar, standard pads, loudest noise ever. But as I learnt from that, just because you brake makes noise, doesn't mean it works. But I'm in love with the smooth rim (with coloured sidewalls) and Echo pads works just beast. The one thing that sucks though is that it only takes a tiny bit of moisture or water to make it stop working. =(
  3. Yea I would like to do a locale ride sometime, has been a while. You chaps seen the Norwich ride thread? around crimbo time.
  4. I've really started to get manuals good lately. I gave up on just pulling the front end up and with my set-up (and it being a mod) it was nearly impossible, so I wheelied into it instead. The one thing that really helps me is getting my arse into the right balance point, before I stop pedalling (like I say I wheelie into it). The position should be like a tuck when you do a backwheel, just not so low, and keeping the arms straight. I find I manual better if I make sure I am in a good position to start with, when I'm in that position I can hold it really well without too much movement.
  5. Gah seat hole, but white frame is nice Dmr rims look good. Get it built. =D Nice cat. Edit: Cats
  6. For the Faja: Whiskey as always For the Maja: Me to you bear as always For the Braja: Would usually be a PC game but he's getting a 360 so obviously won't play it, so probably something for his car. For the Naja: Don't have a clue
  7. Ah that looks beastly, the Echo Urban's really do make the mod's look different from the usual curved fork. I myself would have gone for the Black Urban's, just to contrast the frame colour. But that looks mint, Silver Surfer. =)
  8. I think its an attempt to dodge the winter myself. Nah just kidding mate, sad to see you go. Come back some day. =D
  9. This was a pic of it this time last year, almost the same except the spec is a bit better, new wireless router, and the external has packed up. Will post spec later (as I'm a dumbass and don't know what it is).
  10. SelectBikes if my order is up to £100, Tarty if my order is over that. Or Tarty if Select don't sell the item (Koxx/Try-all stuff). I get little things like tubes, pedals etc at work. Select have free postage.
  11. If I come it will be with cjskate (so add that name to your list). Still not 100% sure though. Keep you all informed.
  12. The red looks pretty good on it, reminds me of Chai's Echo Lite. Just cut the steerer/change the stem and that will top it off.
  13. Dave Mirra and Thrasher: Skate and Destroy were both spot on, they were similar in controls and graphics (same publisher), but they were actually realistic games, where Tony Hawk's missed the point as its possible to do insane numbers of spins on a ramp. They were really good games to play. PC I'm playing Test Drive Unlimited, which I think is brilliant. And I think sometime I'm going to install Theme Hospital again, probably the most classic PC game ever.
  14. Short bikes, and competition bikes feel nice with high bars, something with a lot of rise to them, like Monty bars, Try-All rage bars or even the old ZOO! bars to an extent. The current Deng risers feel to flat/lowish, which I personally prefer on long, street bikes.
  15. Any other second hand Onza would be easy for that kind of price. Is it the silver T-Mag, or is it an older version?
  16. From thutley, to Fugley. Did a Google search of Fugley for my new avatar.
  17. If it still occurs, give Hope a call, as they apparently take anything like this back to be fixed for a small charge.
  18. Was up there a few Saturdays ago. Does ride nice in my opinion, but I haven't even given it a proper ride yet bloody weather, and no-one to ride with. I bet you love having your fancy dual discs in weather like this.
  19. No doubt we will be riding Chelmsford end of this year or early next year. Good luck with your bike man.
  20. Yea! Two Echo Lite's, non mainstream for the win.
  21. Looks like your rear is going to you. Some nice pics there, that selection of btis look good to ride. And ditto from everyone else about the helmet.
  22. I think it looks nice, rear discs always makes bikes look better in my opinion, they just look neater. But is it me, or is that frame not as low as the current 4 bolt model? Also, how did he get that frame so early? His front tyre is also on wrong by the looks of things?
