£30 Fine, Cpo Riding Path *video Evidence*
Captain Scarlet replied to Dan Burgess's topic in Trials Chat
On the argument of PCSO's I just thought I'd like to add my opinions. I love the idea of a PCSO, its a light police officer and saves lots of time and money in training a full on police officer. But I find the term "light police officer" an oxymoron, a light police officer involves light training, and therefore light strengths. Therefore, there is only so much a PCSO can officially judge on in a tough situation (such as the dispute of riding on paths, as this without a doubt is covered in their training). But in a more serious situation, such as a a fight or pub brawl, a PCSO would have to rely on his/her's own experience and knowledge to resolve the issue (as I'm sure as anything as spontaneous as this would not be covered in six weeks training). To cut a long story short, I don't believe the PCSO idea is a brilliant solution to the UK's crime situation simply because the training and job isn't as indepth as a fully trained officer, and that means there is too much that a PCSO hasn't been trained in. -
Unless your Simtra has dual disc, its impossible to win. (IMO) EDIT: Spode's black one would get my vote if it had black drilled sidewalls on the rear =D

Whats this business about it being cancelled? I wouldn't think a bit of rain would mean it has to be cancelled. I'll be there, but my bike is probably gonna get soaked as its now mounted on the roof of my dads car.

Having quite a lot of previous experience with Minimoto's, if you spend a good amount on one £500 onwards, then you can get yourself a good quality one. That being for pit bikes, I'd say around the £800 mark would be the best. But if your just looking for some fun or something to start on, the one you linked to will do just keep an eye on all the components, go over the bike when you get it, apply a bit of threadlock on anything that can work loose, and most importantly check the frame quite often. Minimoto's were so cheap, and mainly because the frames couldn't hold up and had stress fractures occur everywhere. Some are luck, because the build quality on them is terrible some are better than others, mine lasted me a good year of racing (had to keep on checking and welding the frame though) but the bike still can run today (I've had it for about 3 years), whereas some peoples only lasted them a month. Just be aware that most cheap Chinese bike stuff is cheap for a reason, if you keep an eye out then you can avoid any big problems.

Saturday 29th Braintree Ride
Captain Scarlet replied to Dan Burgess's topic in Member Organised Rides
Theres a Premier Inn just across the road from me Patt. http://www.premierinn.com/pti/hotelInforma...;CMP=KNC-Google Also a Holiday Inn, about 200 metres from that. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/925/en...equestid=468919 I wouldn't know what you'd call cheap. If your all in the area of Freeport at 1-2ish, I'll ride on my lunch break, and then I can ride when I finish at 6. That being if I fix my chain. I'll most probably see you at Hook woods anyways. =D -
My god that was terrible, theres you apologising for Charlies behaviour, and now I think your going to be just as bad. Reece's riding was good, but the editing was badddd, it just seemed like a random mash of uncut clips and pictures.

I think I'm gonna buy lots of cable ties, cheap padlocks and cling film on my last day. =D

Get some PlusGas Dan, places like Halfords sell it, penetrates and loosens rusted parts. Only other tip I can recommend is what Muel said, and that is bolting the tool in place to make sure it doesn't slip so you can put maximum force on it.
-
I usually get to a point, I look at the people in who inspire my riding and think; "I want to get to that level one day", and realise the only way I can is to try. Always think a line or situation through with "Whats the worst that can happen?", "I could easily jump off unharmed if it doesn't go to plan". I'm still not 100% commited though, as I personally feel that I don't fall off enough, therefore I'm not trying as hard as I can. But my best way of going bigger riding was to film the line or move that you want do, especially if its one of those things you only try once. If you make it, you've got it on camera and you can show the world how amazing it was by putting it into a video, if you bail or screw up again you have it on camera so you have a bail for your video.

Colchester This Saturday
Captain Scarlet replied to Captain Scarlet's topic in Member Organised Rides
Well I'm working Sunday, and I gotta get a 6ish train home. Today looks a bit shizzle don't think its worth riding to be honest. EDIT: Monday would be a bad day for the trains and I have school the day after, so how about when we are off school on our actual easter holidays, and maybe the weather will be better. -
Try-All by far for every terrain.
-
Anyone working overtime on the Easter days? I'm doing 8 hours on Good Friday and all day Easter Sunday, double pay so I'll be loaded by the end of the month. Yea working as cashier doesn't mean sitting there all day (unless its midday Saturday), if your working weekdays you have to put stock on shelves, clean up and face up. Bikehut is where all the fun is at! And theres a hotty coming back tommorow to buy a SUS550, couldn't imagine her riding it.
-
Riding is pretty damn hot despite the wrists, you meglamaniac! Hope your wrist all heals up soon man.
-
Bad weather. =(
-
Yea Anyone fancy riding Colchester this Saturday? (22nd). Meet at 10, roundabout?
-
I'll definately do it on a Saturday. =D
-
Its alrite man, they'll eventually get one with your name on, I had "Edward" for a couple of weeks. I think my 3 months has finally been done so they need to review me and see if they actually want me or not.
-
Nice pic but Mine was 33", hoping to top that once I get back into riding properly again.
-
I'm assuming that its that your body has a greater mass than the bike, therefore the gravitaional pull on it is larger, keeping your feet on the pedals. An analagy of it would be to put a small circle of paper underneath a coin and drop it, that way they both move at the same rate.

DOB seems to be the fastest developing and growing trials brand. I'd love to build up a dual disc machine one day.
-
Best way to tell if its a crack is to sand/file the paint off the area, then you can see if its just the paint or is actually the frame. To be honest I'd try my best to get ahold of Diamondback, or the dealer you bought it from, if no joy then just get a new frame. Welding won't do much good, as the strong area of welding in one place will create stress on other areas of the frame, eventually leading to small fractures and then cracks.

I thought someone would know the London ride one?
