Well I'm looking through the Chit-chat, I see; "The Happy Thread", "The Angry Thread", etc, I had an idea, "The Nostalgia Thread". I'm sure this will be quite a conversation starter, basically share any personal experiences or memories that miss or long to experience again, it may be small things in life, it may be something deeply personal to you. To start off, I miss the days when the Sega Megadrive was the best console about, many happy memories of being indoors playing away at Sonic. Share yours.

Ah right, the engineer I went to pretty much had a helicoiling kit with just the coils and the tool, he used his own taps. Ah well, he's gone out of business now, so as long as I don't strip my two standard threads I shouldn't haven't to buy a kit. =D

I broke up nearly 2 months ago, final yea of school is schweeet. At the moment I have nothing planned just to; ride trials, work, ride my moped. How boring.
-
Because for the amount of useage its blooody expensive, sure I might be able to do friends mounts in the unlikely event they strip theirs, but still not much usage. I got 2 helicoils done for £5 from a local engineer and that saved a hell of a lot of money buying the appropriate drill size, tapping kit and helicoil kit. Not forgetting a drill if you don't have one.

Adding to that, depending on the area of the bike and the kind of weld applied it could easily crack again. If its welded like the gusset on the old T-Pro frames it won't be long until a stress fracture appears as due to the amount of welding on the gusset, all the stress inflicted on that area of the frame has nowhere to disperse as it has been welded all the way around, only way for this stress to disperse is a fracture which then eventually becomes a crack. Welding would also involve strengthening an equal area of the frame, as a weld will be a strong point and the oposite side will be a weak point. This happened my mate's old echo team frame, it cracked on the chainstay and as well as welding had to be strengthened on either side and either end of the chain stay.

Ah not necessarily mate, you'd take one dab, hop to another part of the section and land taking your second dab, repeat that sequence hopefully getting 4 dabs or less. =D

Thats really inmpressive for the short time of riding mate, just remember don't overwork the tuck, just do the sidehop as you naturally would. Keep it up.

I rode a 1.1 a while ago because some spoilt kid round my way got one then he sold it, it rode really nice for complete stock parts. I do like the red though, not a bike like it (well I guess the new Onza 26's are a little). Whats the bike count now Nick?

Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread
Captain Scarlet replied to Has anyone seen my shoe?'s topic in Chit Chat
I know the feeling mate, the feeling that you don't know if she's actually thinking about you or not, or whether she cares at all. If she is really that bad though mate your just gonna have to let go, as I said the more you think of it the worse and harder it will be for you. -
Vegas is a doddle to use (I assume you just want to import all your clips, move them about a bit, add a few transitions and titles). It can be as easy as you want it to be, and then when you understand aspects of the programme such as keyframing and masking you can make videos as in depth as you like. A very flexible programme.

If she hasn't exactly treated you right in the last 7 months, then how is she going to treat you in later stages of your relationship Ryan. I know its easy for me to say, and hard for you to picture it, but if the relationship went on would it be a good one? it may work for a bit but the longer your together the more you have to suffer when you break up. -
Parents Ever Tried To Stop You Doing Trials?
Captain Scarlet replied to Daborn Meister's topic in Trials Chat
I found it difficult getting into trials with the first initial step of buying a trials bike, mainly because I wasn't earning any money so I had to wait until christmas to ask my parents for a trials bike. Cheapest bike I could find an Onza T-Vee and my parents easily said "No, whats the point in having a bike with a really low gearing, no warranty, and a stupid sized seat?, your never going to use it!". I kept on at them and eventually persuaded them to let me have it, and that was a good christmas for me. =D My parents don't hate it, but they don't incredibly enjoy it, they support me, take me to competitions and talk to their friends about it. -
Yea most bike shops won't be able to helicoil it. They may be able to drill and tap the M6 thread, but the actual helicoil. Although from there you could just buy a helicoil kit and wind the coil in yourself. I got mine done by a motorbike specialist, look for anyone who works with engines of some sort as they no doubt will have had to deal with helicoiling at some point, either by themselves or they will know of someone who can.

Looks like I'm gonna have to get back in Call of duty then. Anyone still fancy the idea of a clan?

To all those say; "oh my god it looks like a Dob, must be related to Dob". Guess what, it looks like a Kamel, does that mean its related or a sub-brand of Monty? In the case of Rulong frames, I believe that Chris is the only importer/distributor in the UK, so its not like I can go to an established dealer and get one if I am interested in one. I also believe that Zhi does provide warranty, under manufacturer's warranty, not his own. Am I correct in saying that the established UK brand Onza has no warranty on their bikes or frames?

None. If you can ride rather than think about what to change on your bike, you will end up becoming a much better rider. Literally the second I started earning money, I went and spent it on my bike, got carried away with it I went from a T-Vee to a T-Pro to an Echo lite in the space of 11 months, and I have no original components from the first build. I feel that is a mistake, I think way to much about my bike and all the little things and say "Oh if my brake worked a little better I'd be able to do that gap", its not the way to go just ride. I run a Hope mono trials on the front and a magura on the rear of my fairly well specced Echo Lite (smooth rim on the rear brake), and when I was riding a local competition (I ride blue route which is around the medium level of competition) literally as the rain started my rear brake wasn't doing anything, and the front brake was working fairly well, I decided to give up due to my rear brake not working (and me not being confident with this fact). However, in the same route as me is a lad much younger than me, with a near standard T-Bird (I think he has upgraded to Magura's), but he too was running smooth rims front and rear so his braking situation was worse than mine, I have also been told that he hasn't progressed onto backwheel moves yet, but he went on to complete the sections I quited on with a clean, not dabbing once. Overall out of about 12 people I think it was, I came second from last, and I think the young lad came 3rd, so it's really inspiring to know of someone like that, and always look up to him when I always think about spending loads of money on improving my bike and realise it is not needed. And finally if you upgrade your parts when you become a lot better, the change in weight and geometry is much more beneficial and noticeable when you are good enough to tell of the difference. May sound like a real bad rant at you, and I am obviously the hypocrite here, but if you keep your components standard it will; save you money, be beneficial to you at a later stage, and will be more rewarding for you. Thats coming from personal experience, I just wish I hadn't gone over the top on my bike, but I guess at the end of the day it is entirely up to you.

"I've got too much going on in my life at the moment...." And then list that you might be going away, working, money issues, trials, friends. Whenever I've been in that situation, I talk to the girl normally and whenever she trys to suggest or hint something, I'll tend to ignore or make little notice of it (as Boumsong said). -
Ah cheers for the heads up. My first one was at a small local place with a gun, and no complications from that.
-
Ah for such a "high class" camera, the pics are tiny, would have liked to seen some bigger ones of the bike at least. Don't go fooling yourself mate, I know the gap is big but its hardly 2 bike lengths, I'd say around 7ftish though.

I liked Benito's one, that had pink wheels, silver frame, and pink stickers. That went really well.
