If your thinking of getting them from abroad then fat chance will it work out cheaper, once you've slapped import taxes and such on it, it'll work out more. Always best stick to the UK dealers, always easier in warranty and helps the little businesses grow. Thats if you are buying from overseas.

I only missed of G-Turns because they are so amazingly hard to do. Still one I want to learn. -

Captain Scarlet replied to STEVE-0's topic in Member Organised Rides
Well theres quite a few notable riders from around the area, so it must have done them some good. Its hard to say as everyone has their own tastes I guess. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gWx5fbI863Q&...feature=related all of this video is Chelmsford (apart from the riding in the woods). -
Chelmsford Ride Sat 8th Nov, Lash Friday Night
Captain Scarlet replied to STEVE-0's topic in Member Organised Rides
I'll bring mine and have to make a note of buying batteries. I can only ride Saturday now, so I'd definately be up for that Ash. And Reece you can ride my bike if you like (Usually you'd say no as my bike rides like a tank, but you might be a tad desperate for anything). 10:30 Saturday? -
Going Backwards On The Front Wheel.
Captain Scarlet replied to Joe Hawkins's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Ross has covered it pretty well. If your looking to roll back on the front wheel Danny Mac style, I would recommend learning all the basic moves with the front wheel first, same way that it is much easier to learn how to manual and do rear wheel moves once you've learnt how to position yourself on the backwheel. Start off with moves like endos, 180 pivots and front hops, as these all give you a chance to explore and develop your own sense of balance and body positioning on the front wheel, so this makes it much easier whendoing moving tricks. After learning front hops, I soon moved onto squeakers, I still do find using a foot easier to get into the rollback than using your toes and momentum to get the rear wheel up, as I personally find you can vary it and find your balance point quick easily, the motion can also be carried out with just your foot and not the rest of your body. I then learnt how to roll back on a slope and can get them quite consistent now, to this day I'm scared to either; endo and release the brake to start the rolling, or to flick up your rear wheel, because of the slope. The way I find best to get a good roll back, is the squeaker technique; I ride up the hill, put my foot on the front wheel, do a stroke to get me onto the front wheel/find my balance point/BRAKE, and then I release my brake and do a second stroke to get my momentum/rolling. As I said earlier, with the squeaker technique, once you've got yourself rolling you can either; use your foot to keep yourself balanced, or place it back onto the pedal and hold the roll. Following those tips, only thing you can then do is it keep on practicing. -
Well I went to the doctors for mine, my spots aren't "oh my god bad", but they aren't exactly invisible either. I'm on anti-biotics which have worked a bit, I still get spots but not as big or as much, my back pretty much clear of the number I had on there. My brother had real bad spots, and after anti-biotics did little for him, he was moved onto a more substantial treatment, I can't remember what it was called but it quite strong and could affect the liver so resulted in having a blood test after a month or so.

Should have done your theory in Chelmsford Charles, multi-tasking. =D You are talking about Friday right?, I might pop down on my own (Reece is minus a frame), *handsinprayerformation* Hopefully good weather, nothing but crap lately. -

Any news on this? I want to ride. -
I did like the first film, was quite good how it filled in many plotholes within the series. Theres also a lot of paradoxes which as a Futurama fan you'll enjoy getting your head around. This is also the first movie of four, the second is already out on DVD and the remaining two to be released in the near future.

Dose Anyone Live Near Basildon / Pitsea ?
Captain Scarlet replied to jack14366's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
What about Boris Matt? Not forgetting the rest of the Essex riders. I guess I'm due to ride that way soon, not Southend though (it really sucks now). -
My dad is still happily playing the original Call of Duty on PC, online. I'm not really bothered to be honest, I'd probably only be in it for the online gameplay, which is all I do on COD4 already. I think I'm going to play COD4 online a few days after COD5, then I'll actually be able to play. =D

I'll pass that onto to him Mark, thats really valuable criticism, glad to see someone saw past the idiot that is Charlie.

Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread
Captain Scarlet replied to Has anyone seen my shoe?'s topic in Chit Chat
Haha my still close ex was just slating me because I'm seeing a girl I met recently at college. She was all like "It was nice of you to introduce me to this new girl?" Then I just came back with the fact she'd been staying round other guys houses, and speaking of them like I was best friends with them. Crisis averted. -
They have been about for sometime, so I guess its just an older model that has had its day. My friend has one which he can ride an absolute beast, it meets his requirements perfectly (just your street moves, etc). It is however quite a long bike (I don't know the geo but I'm sure someone will), and it is also heavy for a trials frame. Of course with weight comes strength so you won't have to worry about it cracking (I doubt any has put a major crack in one). One thing to point out is that there is no snail cam holes drilled into the frame, so if you are currently using this method of tensioning, then you will have to switch to an alternative such as chain tugs.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, with the elderly it may be previous experience with louts on bikes, causing trouble for no apparent reason, only takes one bad apple in a barrel. Best thing you can do is to accept their opinion and apologise that you didn't see it from their point of view. If we want trials to grow and develop, then we must collectively give a good image to the general public.

When I had my Try-All tyre on the front, it had almost no form or spring to it at all (I could press the tyre in whilst it wasn't on the bike and it would stay like that, most other tyres would spring back.) I also noticed that I could put the same amount of pressure in and that the tyre would feel softer than what I would usually have it. This tyre is easily the best gripping tyre for a mod, but then this may be a disadvantage if you wanted something easier rolling for the street. Best ones I can recommend for that are the Echo's, as they had a stiff form to them, and rather squishing a lot when hopping, they would have more of a bounce, almost as though it should be used for high pressures. Adding to that, Halford's Apollo Awesome BMX's come with Echo bike trial tyres as standard. =D

Any news on the release of the Bionic frames?

Tucking is the process of pulling your bike higher by shifting body position. Obviously it depends how big you are sidehopping. Real tucking only really becomes beneficial at around 40"+ sidehops.

Would Eno Or Tensile Fit On A Standard Onza Bb?
Captain Scarlet replied to Daveee's topic in Trials Chat
Was the BB from a recent Onza bike? If it was from a T-Pro or higher spec then they all come with front freewheel as standard, the newer models being Tensile freewheel fitted so you probably won't have much of a problem. As for the whole, "Screw square taper!" business, if your strapped for cash, stick with square taper, I'm still running that after 2 years of trials. I do go through BB's a lot more than most trials bikers but its easier to afford £10 a time rather than £40. -
The dates on packets are only guidelines, not precisely when that product goes out of date. I don't see why stilton has a sell by date.
-
Ah why is Deng going the competition route? Obviously it is a different market, but the majority of comp riders are well stuck to Koxx's and Monty's, for the same kind of price you'd pay for a Deng bike you could pay for a lovely Koxx that has had some effort into making the frame aesethically pleasing, not just slapping an "ECHO" sticker on. I know which kind of bike I'd rather have for that kind of money.
-
Yea I'd be interested, just wait for payday and I'll probably go for that. Still look at some form out mounting, seems some good ones which fold away, but I either can't get ahold of them in the UK or they are too much.

Screw new games, I think I'm going to buy a steering wheel to enhance some of the games I've already got. Okay steering wheel choice obviously being the Wireless Offical Xbox 360 one, but the main issue I will have with mine is mounting the thing somewhere. In my mum's room I have no room in front of me for a table, so I'm looking to get this bracket that basically has a flat bit to sit on, and then the pole that holds the surface that you wheel mounts onto, comes between your legs. My brother's room I have a bit more space, I've seen all the elaborate chairs, wheel mounts, monitor mounts and pedal mounts, but all I want is a basic one that will do pedals, wheel, and maybe comes with a chair. But either occupies little space, or can be packed away to a small size. What set-ups does everyone else go for.

Judging by your signature and name, you've already answered that question yourself.

wtf!?! =D What is all the business of the size your "rear triangle"?* *Whilst I'm in the topic
