  1. Your completely wrong there. My HPI E10 takes 1 hour to charge, and thats a 5300 m/a Lithium-ion Polymer endurance battery, which lasts me 2 races nights (we usually have 4 races a night at 5 minutes a race so that works out at about 40 minutes run time) as opposed to the 10 minutes a tank you get from Nitro. Just because Nitro's aren't dependant on having batteries being charged, doesn't mean they don't need any initial preparation, its not like the flick of a switch on an electric, and require TLC after using them to ensure they start and operate well the next time you use them.
  2. Electric cars are the way forward, but only if your talking brushless motors. A brushless electric motor will beat nitro by far, longer run time, and a hell of a lot easier to maintain and keep running. They have adapated the original savage for brushless and look at the power for its size, if you hit the power from a standstill it does a backflip! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2TDIWLtrcs Or if your not all for the monster truck scale, why not a Firestorm? again with a flux brushless motor. Working in a model shop, its brilliant selling these cars to experienced nitro sceptics and then have them come back a few days later telling me how they couldn't believe how well they perform.

  4. Look at Matt Birds tyres and then consider if you really need new tyres. They can be seen close-up and personal at 2:33 in this video: Vimeo Video -> Original Video And he is still riding the torn and perished tyres 4 months on from that video.
  5. Surely if you failed your theory then you'd lose your money for not being able to do the practical? I need to start doing lessons, motorbike is fine in the current weather but I'll be regretting it in the winter.
  6. The Sony DCR SR range gets a good recommendation from me, to cut a long story short, it is a standard definition camera that records to hard-drive (the different models determine the size of hard-drive). Really its aimed at people who would use a video camera for everything and use it as a storage means as well. I've got the SR55e model, which has a 40gb hard-drive (Even if I stored all my videos on my camera after filming them, I doubt that would be anywhere near full), I chose it over tape as I don't have the hardware (firewire) needed for tape transfer, its easy because I plug my camera in and take the clips straight off the camera. It's an older model now, so you might be able to get a good deal on one, but mine cost me £280 new from Amazon, and this is the quality I am getting with it. EDIT: Just checked, their newer model is nearly the same price but double the capacity. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Handycam-DCRS...=dp_ob_title_ce
  7. Don't go for BMX man, I love your riding style on the 20" trials. I love the line at 2:44, definition of manifesto and smooth.
  8. Clearing over is harder, as when you hop onto something you can land front wheel first and pull the bike up (think how easy it is to jump on top of a wall with your feet as opposed to jumping over it from a static position). So much spring there, I love Benitos technique and style of riding.
  9. Its not going be any better than 4 or 5.
  10. PC for me, I used Mac's at college for video media, and they get on my nerves (this is mainly due to low hardware maintenance and crap spec), and I find Final Cut Pro annoying (despite it being media industry standard ) PC is what I am comfortable with, I don't have loads of quick keys to remember, I can access and sort my files with ease and have no reason to go for a mac.
  11. On my usual route home from riding I go past a car transporter (you know the breakdown ones that have a large cab and then a ramped back which can accommodate one car). This is quite an old and beat up example of a car transporter but is still used day in and day out, and today I saw the owner getting in it, it has one built in step to climb up into the cab. However due to the age and state of the transporter, when the bloke put his weight on the step it broke away from the cab (due to the rust and corrosion on it) and he fell to the floor, such a funny sight, now he's not getting into that cab properly again! EDIT: Reading above I remembered a good one, a couple of years ago on a wall that I used to ride at regularly I found a dead squirrel, thought nothing of it until I came back the next day and found a little cross made for it out of bamboo canes and someone had printed out a little poem for it, I even have pictures.
  12. Adjusting any disc brake whilst it is moving is always stupid, but more to the point why was the wheel spinning? from my knowledge Hope brakes are usually adjusted by shimming the calliper so there would be no need to keep the wheel spinning?
  13. Just what I thought, if this scenario came up for me (a wallet regardless of the cash or cards in it) I would return it, as the wallet is almost like a possession that signifies someone's personal belongings collectively, it just says "personal" to me, whilst a random ten pound note or a pound coin on the floor doesn't give any clue as to whom it belongs to and therefore I wouldn't feel at guilt for doing it. If I lost just a tenner I would expect that everyone else would think the same, and would like to imagine that everyone shares the same opinion as me on losing a whole wallet. Actually, it would depend on where I find the wallet, in a town centre or somewhere busy then I would definitely return it, in a quiet cul-de-sac or in a woods and I would probably keep it.
  14. I love your non existent chainstay ones Ali, having seen that sort of design on full-sus set-ups I always wondered if it would come into trials, it seems only the next logical step in frame design, especially if we are going to allow for frames to accommodate the future of belt drive.
  15. Best way to learn the technique is to start in the road and go upward to a kerb due to the nature of the arc movement already described, its less scarier going up to front on something higher as your weight will be further back (however, over time you will adapt the technique by shifting lots of your weight to the front to gap further). So obviously start on rear wheel comfortably hopping, when your ready to go for it drop your front wheel down and your weight backwards and down (exaggerate this by lowering your arse over the tyre). Once you reach your pre-load limit, give a quick kick to pedals (as you would for a sidehop or back wheel gap) and bring your body weight forward (that's; chest, hips, everything). Exaggerate this movement and commit to pushing your front wheel forward and down onto the obstacle. As soon as your rear wheel is off the floor, lock the front brake to ensure you have a good stopping force when you land on it. That is the basic technique, as said, start with with road to kerb, a bit of practice and you can soon find out how much weight transfer to use when gapping and what difference it makes, also your front wheel balance, you will soon find out your limits of when you are about to go over the bars and the weight transfer/break release you must learn to counteract this. Once you know the technique, it all comes with practice.
  16. If its euthanasia in the sane mind of "I'm in lots of pain, and as paralysed I don't have the same aspirations in life, please for the love and sake of the family will you put me at ease?", Then I have absolutely no problem at all with it. When it then steps into the situation of a murder cover-up, just because someone doesn't want to care for someone any more, then I obviously have a problem with it. I think its good that it is illegal here yet perfectly legal in Switzerland, as it lowers the possibility of someone wanting to use euthanasia as an excuse to kill off an old or frail relative.
  17. Fish and Chips. (Or by new law I must refer to the specie being sold, so my favourite is Haddock). Bit of vinegar, small dab of salt and either some Heinz Mayonaise or glass bottled ketchup.
  18. I was in a similar situation to you a year or so ago, one of my ex's basically said stuff about me to her new big black hench mofo of a boyfriend (I hadn't spoken to her since we broke it, it was her who done it, and she'd been trouble ever since). He is reputable around here for being a nutcase and having a whole gang apparently (I still didn't want to risk anything). Basically said; "Next time I see you, your dead" kinda stuff, over the phone and Msn (I had like never spoken to the guy in person, and only seen him a couple of times). Everytime he rang me or messeaged me I was just calm and spoke normally to him, not being sarcastic or a suck up, just guy to guy kinda thing. Eventually this bloke got the jist of it, and realised I was better friend than foe (lets face it, for a guy like him, the more friends he has, the more of an entourage he has), I haven't heard from him since, but I'd rather that than getting threats from him all the time. Don't try and gain a clown boy reputation, if your unpopular and your try and make yourself look funny then people will think you are even more of a dick, I can think of a kid in my school just like it, and the reason why everyone came back and bullied him was that he had a smug attitude about it. Either; run, fight, or be normal with him. If your neutral about it, he has no reason be pissed off about it, your not sucking up to him and your not pissing him off.
  19. Same here, most I've ever done for any tests throughout school is a quick glance at a book or diagram. I don't see how people can spend a couple of hours a day for a good month revising. The only revising is good for is if you pay bugger all attention in class (I'm a bit of the inbetween, I have my fun but I take in some of the work, probably explains my grades).
  20. Its what Wiki tells me. Apparently there was a change to the voting procedure, so whether that played a large role in us coming 5th or not..?
  21. No worries there then, if he really if your BEST mate, he will know whats good for him and fo the right thing. Of course big emphasis on the word "IF".
  22. I sleep on my side, one arm under the pillow the other holding the quilt. I've awoken in the freefall position shit scared, its really freaky stuff trying to turn yourself over; in a single bed, middle of the night, with dead arms. Its like being paralysed.
  23. Sent the brake back to Hope, and got a new one under warranty (not sure if it was a new calliper of whole new brake). Quick examination showed little pad movement, soon whacked the calliper on to find the same problem. I've given it about 2-3 weeks (I'd officially say bedded in now, as I've not had much chance to ride), and the problem is only worse now, think its another phone call to Hope and back to the less powerful but less annoying Magura for me.
  24. Video remixes just don't go for trials, I've seen loads of CLS ones, they are all terrible no matter how good the music is as the clips are edited to the original track. If you are one of the few people who don't like the music, why did you upload it?, you know that lots of people like the original song, so they won't be too happy. Kepp any edits like this to yourself, I've done this plenty of times with my own and other peoples videos, but I don't upload them.
  25. Your definately screwing it over in the export settings, if your editing it in Vegas just hitting a HD option when rendering won't do as your camera isn't a true HD resolution. My friend has the same camera as you and when rendered properly had this quality... http://www.vimeo.com/4502928 Can't watch it, you've got some serious power for being such a little lad, but its blatantly copying Lazenby's style of riding, same song and clothing styles going down there, he made his own style so maybe you should do the same?
