Too late, already used it as a chat-up line. :$
  2. Christ you are annoying!, a reputable UK trials company which has been producing bikes and p&a for over a decade, and your calling the shots?. They have had prototypes of this frame so they can assess the geometry and tweak it to make a nice riding bike, you've only taken in consideration the wheelbase when of course as with any geometry it has to have some proportion with the rest of the lengths/heights. if your that concerned why not just move your wheel back in your dropouts by a centimetre, then your 5mm away from your orgasmical 1030! And from the sounds of it you also have no common sense. The whole cycle industry has had a massive drain, you probably don't know that the current exchange rate is terrible, as most cycle items are produced overseas this of course has a direct knock-on effect on production costs, many large companies have had to raise they RRP's several times over past year and half, they aren't trying to scam us! they need to make a profit to continue as a company. And of course as most UK business go, it follows the chain of; retailer (Tartybikes or whoever) - distributor (where the retailer obtains their stock) - manufacturer (self explanitory). Each one of these areas has to make something on the product. I think that to release a frame; at the current exchange rate, the current economic climate, and still beat competition by selling at a substantial amount less than a competetor company is not bad going. £339 isn't bad at all. And after all that I'm going to say the bike isn't for me at all, I'm not a fan of the long low streety stuff but then Onza have all riding styles covered with this and their other frames to accomodate and suit just about anyones riding tastes. Good stuff!

  4. 60 grams is such a negligible amount, so I wouldn't chose a rotor over a weight benefit. It is common to have a minimum of a 180mm rotor on a 26" (which is what I assume your building). I run 160mm's on my 20" (the rotor size is for better clearance against obstacles), a larger rotor has more surface area and therefore more stopping power.
  5. Cheers for the input on this. As much as I would like a King it is a bit out of reach of my budget, and profile isn't disc compatible. Hope have the market in their hands here (admittedly it is a small market) but there is no freehub for 20" wheels with a disc mount as standard. And of course there may be a large demand from the BMX market.
  6. Right after no joy of ringing Hope and asking if they would make a custom Pro2 or have any intentions to release one in the near future, I thought I'd ask on the forum to see if anyone got Pro2 rear hub fitted into 20" dropouts. I know Swindlehurst has one fitted, but the way it has be modified means the disc rotor spacing is completely wrong (my only issue here as I'm running dual disc). I am in need of a good rear wheel build, and my freewheel sounds like its on its last legs, so to kill two birds with one stone, Has anyone adapted a Pro2 for mod spacing, with a working disc?
  7. I know its still only in the prototype stages but any estimations of time until it is on the market? Just need to know when to sell my Limey 20" frame.
  8. Mental stuff Adrian! 0:50 is pure beast! I might have to come Norwich way again sometime if alot of you are out, and take out a loan for the train journey.
  9. Good find Tom, I love Benitos stuff, just his technique and power is mental. I couldn't really get into watching this video though, someone did a terrible job on the editing, what's up with removing the recorded audio? just gets rid of another exciting element to a video.
  10. I've just eaten dinner, and that has given me a whole new craving for food.
  11. And I'm sure the majority of members have done more out of relationships than in them.
  12. I really only suffer arm pump from riding natural (I think its the uneven terrain which makes me tense as I can't roll over it casually). I've found that recently (trying some thinner foam grips) that thinner grips make arm pump feel worse (I'd imagine this is because my finger is extended more which requires more effort to full bend and activate the lever). And the main thing to investigate into is lever feel as Ali said. Try a 4 finger Magura lever, you can get the same power with less pull due to the extended leverage, therefore your arm works less.
  13. Can't make the Sunday... Saturday... YES?
  14. To be fair its hardly been ridden properly, and only been out of Braintree a handful of times. Massive hunch that the rear pads are contaminated, but its surviving. Yea I'm down for riding pretty much anywhere in Essex, as much I love Chelmsford I would like to ride somewhere different though. I'm free on fridays and some saturdays but with enough notice I can do most weekends. Cheers for the comments so far.
  15. Here is me riding my sunny home town that is Braintree, only a few shots, the best that Charlie managed to get with his impromptu flash stand.
  16. I've yet to experience that, previously working in Halfords for nearly a year, and 2 years at the CycleLife branch I'm at now. I think its because not enough decent bikes come into either of those places (you get the odd few but obviously not on a day to day basis), its just nice getting home and fitting a new part to a trials bike because its a different job and it goes together effortlessly.
  17. It goes in the For Sale section with "OT" in the header (stands for Off Topic).
  18. Indeed, I got a warning for it and a big long disclaimer from Facebook threatening to close my account if it happened again. That set of photos were also publically posted on this forum, guess what... they display copyright in their footer too.
  19. 41 on Tuesday. And seeing at work today wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be.
  20. Well mine set me back £80, but that's a large capacity and endurance specific, you could pick up a couple of 2000m/a Ni-Mh stick packs for £40, and my brushless motor and speed controller combo was £89.99 LiPo's are only dangerous if your an idiot, the same way that anything in life has a risk, stick to genuine makes and it will be fine. I think as the RC Car thread is dead I may as well post it here. Shop I work at is getting an account in these these cars, they are used for RC banger racing, I'm sure the thought sounds revolting to the majority of you but its really good fun. 21. One month on, a drunken work-do, and you know the rest...
  22. All good aside from the chain tensioner. There are far better ways of tensioning without converting to vertical dropouts, a mech is just not meant for trials!
  23. As Pashley said, hardly any bike shops will take someone on as just a mechanic, that's more on the specialist side of things. Designated cycle mechanics (with respective qualifications) would have been in the cycle trade for a bit before working to mechanic level (I couldn't imagine anyone new to cycle retail just starting out as a mechanic). Most full time cycle mechanics I know of, have quite a few years under their belt to get where they are now, its almost like a career rather than something part time.
  24. Its been a recent fad a college to go into the library and print out "Vote for xxx" posters. Today my mate decided to print "Vote BNP" posters with the official logo and pasted them around everywhere; in bikes, cars, vans, even all over the polling station itself, but then he got caught and has now had his printing privileges removed from his user and is being punished for it. On the subject of voting, I didn't vote as I am not of on the age to.
