  1. 127.5mm, I am getting a lot of chain slap on the frame so I'm tempted to shim the freewheel closer to the BB, I've got nearly a centimetre between my BB shell and freewheel. I was also very shocked when I weighed it today, 9.96kg! It's a tank! I'll get some new forks, tyres/tube, and Onza wheels in the new year.
  2. Change pedals, new stem, remove bashplate mounts, remove the lugs that hold your brake hose and replace with the really thin/small cable ties, shorter hoses/cable, lighter chain, smaller front rotor, ti bolts all round, different tyres, cranks/bb if your willing to make every little bit count. Then attack it with a dremmel!
  3. Best ones protection wise are the high end Giros or Uvex, they are pretty much a combo of the BMX style "pisspot" and a normal xc helmet. So you get something that is comfortable to wear, but also covers the back of your head as well. Majority of the time, a helmet is a helmet, go for the "pisspot" if your after protection, go the basic Giro Indicator if your after comfort/something you can wear all day without having to worry about.
  4. No, lacquer chips, which looks absolutely atrocious, can't exactly be touched in like paint either. I'm just saying that it is a paint job that has taken time, thought and money, not like Echo frames where the frame is barely polished then covered in lacquer. The graphics are also set in with the paint, so aren't going to peel like other gash manufacturers. Some hubs are better than others, I'm running an echo hub and its terrible for it. Its the hub, not the frame.
  5. To be fair, that does look a lot more bronze in the photos than in the flesh. I don't see the dig, its a different colour and finish than the bog standard trials frames, silver is quite possibly the most overdone colour/finish Deng quite possibly killed that off by 2006, and looks terrible when it chips away. If you look at all the China designed and produced frames like Deng or anyone, you will notice the lack of motivation in the paintwork, literally slapped red and just plain with crap stickers adhered to them, Onza know where their finish is at. I think perhaps the matching gold forks might be a bit too much, but each to their own. Gold spokes and black nipples are a lovely touch.
  6. Good lad! Same damn good progress there! As said, you made it well easily, give it a few months you'll be going massive!
  7. I had 2 emails back from Chris King, one guy said that trials invalidates the 10 year warranty (which I think is utter bollocks personally). Second reply, another guy said that their headset bearings were a secret size and at this time they are the only people who can replace them. Spoke to the mechanic at work, he had a hunch that they were the same size as cassette bearings, so we stripped down a cheap bulk cassette hub, low and behold they are exactly the same size! Greased them all up, sealed it all back in place with the twat of a mallet, perfect! Only size I think they can be is 1/8" bearings, as 5/32" was marginally too big. Either way if you get stuck with obtaining bearings, just buy a really cheap bulk cassette hub, probably set you back at £10 and contain about 40 odd bearings.
  8. Had this frame sitting looking at me all day at work yesterday, had to get home and build it immediately. Also managed to rebuild my King headset without having to send it off to the states. Got it finished off this morning, here it is (excuse the camera phone quality). Spec for those who care: Onza Limey 320 frame Echo Lite forks Chris King Headset Hope mono trial front and rear Trialtech cranks, Echo urban bashring, Try-all freewheel, Try-all BB Rage bars on trialtech stem Echo rims on Echo rear hub and Pro2 front I've only had a little play around because of the snow, but it rides much better than the first Limey 20, positioned a lot more over the front, and the difference in BB rise is VERY noticeable. Much more comfortable on the rear wheel as well, I never did find the sweet spot on my first Limey, but this is perfect. Decided to finally more UCI by not having a bashplate. Need to get a decent rear hub/rear wheel build, the gash Echo hub puts the rear disc rotor 1-2mm away from the frame, the clearance is ridiculous. It also makes it very hard to set up the disc calliper so I've got a lot of drag as a result. Or tempting to go for a rear rim brake again. Chain slaps on the frame a bit, but what can you expect for such a modern frame with amazing geo. I've not weighed it yet, but I'm guessing its around the 9.5kg mark, should change some components in the new year to get that sub 9kg. Big thanks to Joe and Mike at Onza for getting this out so fast.
  9. Yea you would have thought he would have had more time about the UK street scene seeing as Kenny is very supportive of it. I loved Dave Mirra being in it, really good to get someone so reputable from a different bike sport looking at trials, its almost like endorsing it. Brilliant series, will not miss the next one!
  10. Gerardo Garcia everytime! Vimeo Video -> Original Video
  11. The new Limey most likely won't be out in time for Christmas. Personally I'm going for the Limey, I prefer the finish much more and by guesstimation, it looks like it has a more upright compy feel to it. Also I run rear disc so the skull wouldn't be much good for me. Only you can decide as it is your riding style, and just remember that your bar and stem combination WILL make a massive difference to the way that ANY frame rides.

  13. Speaking with a bloke at work, he had this same trouble and managed to put his king back together bar a few bearings with no problems at all. Anyone know where I can order the same size bearings, I've already nabbed the smallest headset ones I could find at work but King ones are a tadly bit smaller.
  14. I'm well down for uni, but keep on thinking I'm rushing into it and should have a year of full time work then go for the 2011 entry. Then again my 2 places of work have no more hours for me to work, let alone go full time. Either way I've got my UCAS all done bar my amended personal statement, I'm applying for 5 courses all "Film and TV Production" or "Television Production". I've put down; Leeds, Bournemouth, Middlesex, Westminster, and Herts for my choices, still in debate of commuting or accommodation for the London based uni's. All the numbers and responsibilities do seem a bit daunting, f**k knows how I'll cope without someone to wash my clothes or make my food, but then again it has to happen at some point, and this is probably the best step for it.
  15. I think as the current trials market is all based upon weight it would only appeal to very few riders. I quite like them as when I first saw Danny Holroyd riding his Ashton in his videos back in the day, it immediately created the link with moto trials. I'd love to have an old Ashton just for that seat.
  16. I still think it will be about a decade before Blu-Ray completely eradicates DVD. It's just not viable at this time, not necessarily cost wise, but lack of benefits, when it is nearly the same as DVD. VHS to DVD was a massive improvement, it's space saving, no rewinding tapes or jamming of tapes, and a digital medium rather than an analogue one.
  17. I've had a crack at it, all I'm thinking is that I need all the bearings, pop them all back in with a good amount of grease to hold them in place, pop the seal in and once its all clamped against the crown race and in the headtube, sealed or not that shit is going nowhere. Where did you buy a replacement bearing for it? I can't seem to find one.
  18. -1 Its all about the short chain stays, high BB and not too long nor not too short wheelbase. I love the finish and graphics, definitely looks like the best quality frame on the market.
  19. Was removing my Chris King headset from my frame earlier when the screwdriver slipped off the inner most part of cup and down onto the bearing, without realising this had happened I gave another twat of the hammer to find my bearings all over the floor. GASH! Quick search of Tarty and the internet, I can't actually find replaceable bearings, I understand that they are sealed, yet can be maintained, have I just essentially knocked the seal out? I've lost the majority of the ball bearings but I'm assuming these can easily be replaced with others, I just need to know if it can all go back together with no hassle, or I've actually broken a sealed bearing. Cheers, Tom
  20. Thinking of it, I have done quite a lot this year. Good bits: - Passed my motorbike test and managed to earn enough money to buy a decent sized motorbike. - Lost my virginity and had a good amount of girls since. - Turned 18. - Started driving lessons with test booked. - Got my old job back and now holding 2 part time positions. - Up to date with my college work and uni application. - Got my first tattoo booked for a fortnight. Bad bits: - Mega lack of trials, need to be on that in 2010. - Lost quite a bit of money when part exchanging bikes, but hell its fun I suppose?
  21. Can I put a deposit/buy via Moore Large? If not, when are they due them..? Thanks,
  22. I'll give you a shout on Wednesday.
  23. That was so beast! what a line!
  24. Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone could confirm when the Onza Limey 320 frame is due for release, what colour it comes in and a price. I believe it was this month and Onza usually stick to their word, it's just that the Onza thread had closed and I'm really looking to buy one in a few weeks. Cheers!
