is only really the caliper that would need reproducing, or an adapter kit for one. frames... would never happen, unless we start seeing LHD trials frames, but then its not gunna solve the problem, cos wed be hitting mech's. hubs, as it would only happen on the front, can just flip the hub round, and woodman(i think) designed a hub a few years back, with 6 bolt disc faces on either side of the hub. so you could share the wheels between different bikes or summit. but in reality a hub could just be slung round the other way. as for forks, steel ones could have extra tabs brazed on. i for one, would buy a RHD disc if they came out. as i go to left, and its one of my bigger fears in trials, hence the reason im think about goin back to V's

Coaster Sprocket On Trials Bikes
Fish-Finger-er replied to steve@banbury-trials's topic in Trials Chat
dont know how theyd react to the forces of trials, seen plenty of streety trials riders(u.s style, short travel forks , 22t + bash) run a device which allows this, basically theyd run an altered cassette, with say 22t-14,13,12 missing and replaced by metal spacers, and just shift into this gear. does mean you cant pedal forwards when in this ratio either though, but allows you to land fakie nice and easy. but would be interested in people opinions as to whether a coaster hub would work in trials, would need a vastly altered riding style from most of us though i should imagine.couldnt really hold the bike on the pedals no more, would have to use the brake all the time. -
now dont shout me down, as i know theres a good few topics like this, but times change so quick, and my situation is different to most. i haved owned for 3 years, a 3g 40gb ipod. its starting to give up the ghost now, time for me to retire it and get summit newer i think. dont want a zen, so choices to me look like sony. another ipod. zune. + a few others. trouble is i got 29gb of music, so counts the sony, and most others out. so comes down to the zune, and another ipod. what are the current ipods like, not so much video functions, but strength, battery life, reliability etc. (a lot of my mates 4g ipods gave up the ghost within a year. wherease me and my mate who got them before they wer cool, in 3g form, outlasted about 1/2 of the 4g ipods the rest of my mates had, and his 3g is still goin strong, and mine is just gettin tempermental. ) and the zune. whats the deal with it, anyone got one. i know it only comes in 30gb, but can get replacement 60gb hard drives for it. runs an altered windows media player doesnt it.so. 1) can i plug it into me tv? and if so, will it just play mpegs/avis. and have options to go fullscreen. 2) is there anyway of importing my itunes library into it, so its organised in the same fashion(i.e i just have about 400 playlists, all albums, song collections by the same artist- just use those playlists but on the zune) and if anyones got one, what do they think of them.battery life, hardwearingness, any freezing problems.

burning more than your welding??
-
would seriously look at buying a second hand welder, can pick them up for peanuts, so if you lose interest/are crap. its no big loss. can weld, but have little knowledge of whats a good welder and what isnt. main thing to remember when welding with no gas, is to ensure all the surfaces your welding, and your rods are squeaky clean, otherwise you tend to end up with pigeon sh*t,full of bubbles, and no penetration.

got some with the land brighter, just dont appeal to me as much, got about 4 or 5 shots, all unedited, just some are taken with slightly longer shutter times, will post them up tomorrow me thinks.

amazon used too, otherwise ebay. or this, its a bit better than the s5600s6500

my zoo bars dont creak, might be worth gettin a very slight smear of grease round the clamping faces of the stem, and whacking them back up nice and tight, may solve the problem, at leasts that wat it was on my old 24/7 bar stem combo.

plenty of road legal thumps about, and i agree they are beasty. if somewhat impractical. as for the decision, depends where you live, what you need it for. bear in mind you get a motorbike, if you still have an interest in trials, ull have to use public transport/use lifts/ride to wherever you wanna ride. but with a car, theres space for it. if you need to take your mates places, its useful to have a car, and a lot better in the wet to have a car. however that said, bikes are hellish good fun.cheaper to run, tax, insure etc. better performance.ur mum wont nick it when shes runnin low on fuel. you wont be expected to be designated driver, you wont have to take your gf shopping, cos her spree so wont fit into your panniers. and youll never be expected to pick up your pissed parents from the pub,(unless you got a seriously hip mum)

seem to rememembr using goZilla! and getCar in my old days, both did that, you just set max simultaneous d/l's to 1, and once one was complete another would start.

nooooo noooooo, theyre pretty useless for trials, theyll unclip when u dont need them too, like when your pulling up on them. and theyll stay clipped in when you need to dab, or youl set the springs so tight they dont unlock every 10 seconds, and theyll be fine, but itll take you a good few goes to get out of them, so in a hurry theyll be useless. just stick with regular pedals. my recommendations, echo caged at £12 from tarty bikes, gussett slim jims, or snafu pedals if you can find any.

yes, you could have that, but it would be very rubbish, the resolution of a regular tv screen is very very poor. ive got a link from my laptop to the 28 inch widescreen job in my front room. cant view the web or use msn or anything on it, anything above font size 22 is unreadable practically. only advantage is, vids look near dvd quality on it, yet appear slightly pixelated on my 17inch laptop screen.

ill be honest, could explain to you how to use photoshop, but in reality, much better to look at the online tutorials dotted round the place, there more comprehensive, and will have pictures showing you each stage. other than that play around, learning how to use layers is an essential. as for changing parts of a photo to black an white. its basically a case of duplicating the background layer twice, on the top layer, delete everything you want in black and white, using either the erasor, or the lasoo tool(polygonal lassoo tool is easiest). then on the next layer down, just press ctrl + A, then ctrl+shift+u. flatten the layers and save, obiviously theres more too it, when it comes to neatening up the edges etc.but youll learn that as you go along.

is it 6 speed?? or a singlespeed. if its 6 speed, will require correct spacers, but yes, with cut down spacers. single speed youll need a screw on cog. like a screw on freewheel or fixed cog, like mod bikes/modern trials cranks.

Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread

depends on what STI, and how serious it is, everyone raves about chlymydia(sp?) but if caught early on, can be just 2 weeks on antibiotics. -

got a brook/GUM clinic round your end, if not, go to the doctors, theyll either do it, or refer you to a place that can do it. first time you get checked out isnt pleasant, when they take a swab from behind your skin using that umbrella thing, could of almost lamped the bloke doing it. -

if you take it, chances of it working are zero. if its took properly, chances of it working are reasonably high, but bare in mind, just cos u shagged without protection, doesnt mean shes pregnant. and theres still plenty of time for the abortion pill(sure you can take it for the first 2 months- this is not the morning after pill, this is something else, is like a 3 pill course or something) and even after that, theres plenty of times for an abortion, if she is even pregnant, which chances are she might not be. relax you bad self, got plenty of options to stop it from popping out yet. weve all been there, maybe im getting lax and really not caring and immoral, but dont even tend to worry that much no more, use a condom if i can, but some times your too drunk to care about it/get caught up in the moment. and if that happens i no longer lose sleep over it. however, might be worth getting yourself checked out, tend to make sure there aint nothing lurking down there that shouldnt be after a night of helmetlessness action. -
some sample pics took with the s5500, some by me, others by my mate, who doesnt know how to use any of the setting on it, its a point an click to him. but still produces decent results, which is handy for when your wasted to mess round with the settings. my sample pics EDIT: none of these photos have been close to photoshop, theyve come straight off the camera like that.

nope, sorry, sold it to some gypsies for £80 6 years ago(and the frame was around 5 years old then, to give an idea of how old the design is). however, i do remember an article on the design in mbuk, basically slagging off pointless inventions in cycling. that was one of them, but the design was used on other frames, i think in the article it mentioned a cannondale with the same design. might be worth flicking through ur old issues to see if its got anything.
-
i once had a carrera with that frame design. was twin stay, but the chain stays didnt have the chain going through if that makes any sense heres a diagram...soooo not to scale.[attachmentid=8506]

it means 30 second exposure, right down to 1/4000 of a second, my s5500 is 15-1/2000. and at both ends of the spectrum, its more than adequate for anything i need, only thing i could possibly think off, is having the 30 seconds could be of use when shooting very complex light trails(secnd layer clothing's light trail on there site for example). but yea as kris says, 1/500 is more than acceptable for action shots.

ive got an s5500 and its mint for wat i need it for, manual settings, yet still simple enough to use when drunk, has screw on lens adapters for wide angle, telephoto, filters etc.has a mint optical zoom. super powerful flash for an inbuilt one, batteries last an age, well made if slightly plasticky. and best of all, its real cheap, could get one,and a 256mb memory card for around £100+10 postage last time i checked on ebay, and that was new, with all accessories. so doesnt matter an awful lot if 6 months down the line i drop it and break it, whereas with a d50, or a 450d, would be a huge disaster. or if you lost interest in photography.
