to everyone thats got the ipod nano rip offs(along with possibly ipod nanos themselves, but specifically the rip offs) does anyone know of an adapter so i can run normal headphones in them, as i got my mace solo trigger lid today. which has a 3.5mm socket in it, along with a 3.5mm male to male connection lead. whole reason i bought the helmet, was so that i could listen to tunes from ipod nano rip off on it. and now it doesnt seem to be compatible. so if anyone knows of somewhere selling that size(unsure on size) to 3.5mm jack converters, could they let me know, alternatively, anywhere selling seperate head phones, with that small size jack, and ill butcher up an adapter. or likewise if anyones got any mini-jack headphones they dont want.

is it really gunna be £15k for what is a fairly small area. (75 foot by 60 foot maximum. its rather small really). surely youd get it cheaper than that. as in we wer looking at a 40 foot x 40 foot lock up,for car projects. between 3 of us.and thats 150m2,(which comes in at half what you said your smallest venue will be) and it was around £164 a month, which is £1 per metre per month(the ones we looked at had varying ceilings, some at 10 foot, some at 35 foot) whereas youd be paying over £2.50 per square metre per month. also id strongly look into gettin a petition done, and presenting it to your council, as a bid for grants. looking at some of our local skateparks that are indoor, wrexham must of been 90 foot x 120 foot easy.and sometimes wed go there at weekends, and be no more than 10 people in there all day, payin about £4 -£7 each. and it had 2-3 permnanent staff, was open in the week+ evenings, when i can imagine itd be just as quiet, if not worse. and must of had insurance to cover people between5-18, as well as over 18's. which would be way more costly. so i reckon theres gotta be some government/council grant.

be careful with gasoline, ive put similar stuff on there before(forgot what it was, was more in a clear container in the shed, and the odour told me, it should clean everything.but had a similar odour to petrol. left a fair bit on my bars, well enough so it was wet, to use as lubricant to slip it over. left them to dry, and half an hour later came back, to find out, it had ate my grips, and turned them into mush.

erm. retail price on a clutch kit appears to be around £55 -£65, so trade price, i reckon £30-£35 trade price(none genuine, uni-part/delphi or the like). its a clutch kit, itll come with pressure plate, clutch plate, thrust bearing. what else do you need. 1/2 litre of brake/clutch fluid, £4ish? wheres all these lock nuts you need to do a clutch, cant think of them myself. only thing you may need is an alignment tool, but ive seen it done several times, using a finger, and its worked just as well, just took 2-3 minutes longer. where i work, as escort clutch, would set you back around £240-£260. which is almost half the price of what you reckon it would cost on a similar engined vehicle at a main dealer. as for toyotas not known for there ease of repair, is a liteace not a mid engined RWD van, gearbox with one output shaft, running perpendicular to the vehicle, behind the engine. as opposed to a focus, where youll be removing washer bottles, engine mounts, etc, to get at the bellhousing bolts. sure a FWD car will be so much easier?

kona J/s pedals, yea they aint XC, but XC flats are hard to find, cos everyones so jay they have to attach their feet to there bikes(its a joke, i ride XC) there black, good quality, grippier than v8's, cartridge bearings, so a lot better than loose ball/unsealed bearing races. and at £14.99 posted, there a bargain. if you want real light, cheap, flatties, ive got some off a carrera vulcan here i think, there not very good, as in i dont find em too grippy, there probably low quality bearings. but there black, and there light, and theyll be on your door step soon. but i wouldnt trust em. seriously J/S pedals.(or some of them new atomlab ones on wiggle, the super thin ones, at £22.49, they look tasty)

lol, sounds so simple dont it. and heres the thing, technically everything on a car spare a few things, is nuts and bolts. on the most part, being a mechanic isnt like being an artist, anyone can do any of the jobs a mechanic can do on a car, with the right instructions, the right tools etc, but the main consideration is time, i can do a headgasket job on a corsa, but itll take me about 7 hours, itd take my mum a month of sundays, theres blokes in our work who could do it in 5, and theres people probably elsewhere, that can do them in 4.25 ish. having never touched a toyota gearbox in my life.i wouldnt know how awkward it is to do it on them, but if you got patience, some basic tools, and a haynes manual, and a mate whos a mechanic on the end of the phone if it all goes tits up, so he can come sort it, its well in the realms of the home mechanic to do it himself. im by no means a good mechanic, but wouldnt hesitate attempting it myself in say a 6 hour period, giving yourself a weekend, and a bit of help off a mate, im sure you could do it well within the 2 days, possibly 1.

this guys got it right, should imagine a clutch kit at trade price, would be about £25 or so for a cheap jobby, whichll do the job just dandy. but you gotta factor in the garage will most likely charge, £45 for this clutch, then 2.5 or so hours labour for fitting it, at whatever the rate is round your end. although if your willing to undertake it yourself, itll cost you nothing, other than the skin on your knuckles, and your sanity.

hes got it right, my way, is if i can walk, ill get straight back up and do it again, and again, and again and again, till i dont hurt myself. like in shrews the other week, first move of the day, and i took a big bail. thought about dustin meself off, and sittin out for a few minutes, then realised it wouldnt achieve much, other than make me scared of that drop, so instead, before anyone really had a chance to think what had gone on, id chucked me bike back up there, got on it, and dropped off the wall. ergo, rather than next time i go back there i wont think"ah yea, last time i did this, i bailed big", rather ill think"hey last time i did this, i pulled it off, and ive fallen off this drop before, and i could still caryy on riding, so cant be too bad". just throw yourself back at it if you can, and if you cant, go do some small stuff again.

lol, nah we got a real winter, we got frost and everything now,and you not find superstars just a lot too bulky in the sole department??

been through many styles of shoes, phat farm classics and half shells, adidas superstars, stan smiths, nike shox, reebok classics(when everyone use to ride in them, nike cortez, etc). but right now, seem to have settled on K-swiss tongue twisters. grippy for riding, not wide enough to make it look you got orthaepaedic shoes on, casual enough for the trip down the shops, smart enough for clubs. i got some with the camo tongue(flips over to white) and camo soles, camo heel detail. that way, there alternative enough not to look chavvy, but if you wore etnies, even the narrow ones, can see it being detrimental to you for getting into clubs, and talking to girls in clubs(half the girls i know, shoes are the first things they notice when they see someone) only bad point, if your wearing them for riding, they come in at £55, but ive worn mine every day now since i got them in june, save probably once or twice, and there still goin strong, soles are gettin a bit worn out in places, but i literally live in them. if they wernt scuffed on top from footy etc, or even if i just chucked them in washing machine, theyd probably look reasonable enough for clubbing still.

lol, its ok. i can see where your coming from, and in my opinion, your correct, and theres no reason for it to sell. but what im saying is it wil sell, to the kids that want deng this and that,or matching brands etc. purely cos then its puts the echo brake on a par with dengura prices. which is a fact. also i wasnt aware that maggies came with 4 bolt mounts till you said.and from some suppliers there still evo only.

ok, remove the lever blade you should then have. your red plastic bit. a wierd shaped metal plate about 3.5 mm thick, one end will fit in a u shaped groove in the tpa adapter(the plate will just be a straight edge), and the other will have a u shaped cut out in the plate, where it connects to a con-rod which pushes on the piston in the master cylinder. kinda like that. then you should have a sqaure block of metal, with a bolt stuck in it.(its the sqaure metal bit which attaches to the tpa at one end). at the end of this inside the lever, chances are the bolt will have sheared off. and then there will be a cylindrical piece of metal with a groove in it which would sit over the metal plate. with a bit of thread on the end, which has sheared off the bolt inside the metal block. quite simply remove the sheared off bolt from inside the metal block, throw this and the cylindrical bit which has sheared off in the bin, refit the lever with all bits in the correct place(metal plate, lever blade, square metal block with hole in the middle.) then in that hole, in the metal block(Where the red tpa plastic bit goes. ) screw a bolt in, thats your new TPA so from the outside, will look like this:

£160 is a mighty tight budget.but.... £30 hope xc or the like back wheel on an okish rim. £5 cheapo front wheel(car boot jobby, but itll be ok, till you start going to front). £50 for maggies front and rear,(someone will give you some standard pads an evo mounts im sure, just try an bargain into it a set of 4 bolt mounts). £6 cheapo headset.(found one on wiggle for £8, but ive had one from CRC for £6 before, and one from bikeshow for £5.) £20 bars and stem.(is doable, quite easily, got zoo! bars and pazzazz stem for £25,can go cheaper) £25 cranks+bash (second hand truatrivs, altho saw some echos go fro that on here) £10 bb(only £14.00 for a un52 brand new) thats your budget gone then you got stuff like grips, chain, rear casette, and mech to worry about, however, could probably sort that lot out for £15(£5 for a sora mech second hand, get a spare cog from a bike shop, 2 inches of drainpipe off cuts will make a spacer kit £2.99 bmx chain.cheapo grips) then you got tyres and tubes, either tioga dh 2.3s or second hand.would set you back another £15-£20.and some pedals, for about £10 and you then got a bike i think. however, may be more beneficial for you, to buy a second hand frame/bike. could get a very decent set up for that money. otherwise if you insist on gettin a new frame, buy that frame, and spend £200 on another bike. ive seen second hand missions and the like, with maggies on,fully built, ready to ride for like £150-£175. may be an idea to buy one like this when it comes up for sale, then youve got all the stuff, around £25-50 left over for any extras, + the value of the mission or whatever frame to sell.
-
yea, neither do i, i love an 02 white maggie, with a bolt in place of my tpa, it works, i need nothing more. but..... for those wanting deng lever blades, this option perfectly feasible, and economically viable. to me the echo brakes a rip off. but to someone starting out, who needs all new kit, pads, 4 bolt mounts, lever,a metal tpa, and a deng lever for style, or that 7% performance increase they give. people will easily pay the extra £10 or so itll cost when compared to the maggie set up, for that cnc work, the better hosing etc.
-
yea, to me and you, makes no odds. but if your buying a new brake tomorrow.youll be buying an 05 lever with a plastic tpa. and youll be spending the money on getttin a deng lever, too. which makes up £40 of the £50 difference. then youve got the cnc jobbie, and the better hosing. can see it being a lot better sales you predict. also bear in mind, its one product, ordering one product = a lot less hassle, compared to like 4(Well not from my point of view, but from those of parents buying stuff for their kids) and it means no ones gunna have to change the tpa/lever around etc.

woah, hang on, so its illegal to wear these coats outside, with the hoods up. makes them real useful then doesnt it. however suppose i could sit down and watch tv with the hood up. I was saying to fish before on msn,i personally could see the point in them, if i worked on say a fishing trawler, or the like, as it would be mighty handy to not be gettin a face full of -15c seawater in me face every 2 seconds. Other than that see very little use for them, suppose skiing could be another one.but goggles,a scarf and a regular jacket have never let me down.
-
yea, but thats coming from someone whos already got a lot of the set up. if you wer a kid whose parents buy him everything, which we seem to have more and more of these days. brake =£65 pads= £18 4 bolt mounts(cos even though ur only startin out, and havent ridden a trials bike before. your gettin a brand new zoo, and evo mounts are all you get wit your standard brake).= £24 then cos everyone else has them, and cos they look cool and match the rest of your bike, youll go and buy a deng lever = £25. making it £132 already. and if you wanna get technical. the maggie will still have a cheap plastic tpa. so youd go and buy a 74kingz tpa, at £15. so your now lookin at £147 for one upgraded maggie. which is still cast, as opposed to cnc'ed and the hosing. so your looking at £3 difference between the 2 for the Cnc work and the kevlar hosing. which then suddenly makes it all seem good value. well not good value, but to someone whos building an ultimate spec bike from scratch, it seems reasonably priced when compared to a maggie.

yea, thats episode 2 of season 2. episode name is "otis" if your interested.
