  1. if the second ones gunna look nicer done, go for it, you realise how cheap a lot of painters work for cash in hand, my boss had a bloke do his daughters house, and he was aparently sh*t hot, only worked saturdays and sundays(presumably he has a contract job painting for the council/big property developer in the week), and he was like £45 a day + materials(which you could supply yourself if you wanted) so within 2 months, somebody could of done the decorating for you. and it would of cost you the same as the first house to live in for 2 months, and after that be significantly cheaper. only issue is, she may be a mates mum etc, but bear in mind shes a property developer, so does everything for money, and is possibly quite ruthless, she MAY (she may also be nice and be happy with the rent as income)stick you on a 3 monthly/6 monthly tennancy contract, keep you in till youve got the place real tidy, youve decorated it nicely, then 9 months to a year down the line, shell sell the property, of made a bunch of profit, had the house decorated for free, and got a 12 months rent.
  2. to be pedantic, in that deal, there is also pedigree, fosters is the only lager on tap. not the only beer, when you asked for kronenourg, she probably meant it was the only lager on tap, also as you wer asking for a pint, she probably only gave the options on tap, can also have bottled beer with your meal in there, which is normally a choice of say stella, budweiser and i think cobra.
  3. friday work, gym, go buy new motorbike petty tank, came home, got protein'd up, probably gunna doss, as i need to be up earlyish tomorrow saturday fit petty tank, load bike up with petty, give her a quick blat make sure shes still sweet, go to town, try and sort me phone out with t-mobile, possibly a couple of jars if i can find a daytime drinking partner, come home, get a nice carb filled tea,may go for a quick jog, but probably wont, early night in preparation for sunday sunday up at 9am, get to fron for 10am, 70 mile trail ride, get back in about 2/3, wash the bike off, give her a quick spin up the road to dry her out, get showered and changed, then collapse in front of the tv in me slacks, in an attempt to recover
  4. i was told the story i got from a bloke who was a member of the iam,and an ex special copper. i can see no reason why he would of changed the story or made it up, it came about due to me talking about having to use my car in a none road legal state, due to not being able to afford parts, and him giving me that story as a warning, aparently it was gross negligence on the scooter riders part to keep his vehicle in a running/roadworthy condition( i.e he knew it was extremely low on fuel, in danger of running out and did nothing about it, much like me knowing i was driving with a bald tyre for 2 weeks). the reason i brought it up, was more how i think it was wrong that the driver served a custodial sentence, for something which was an accident, and occured within the law. im sure most drivers have spun out, or slid at some point, and they were driving just as dangerously as this bloke was. only difference being the police did nothing for those accidents , and because another driver/rider collided with the car(once again ill bring the "stop in a distance you can see " point up, had that been a tractor trimming hedges going at 2mph,or a steam vehicle going to a vintage rally the rider would still of hit it, but then it would be purely the riders fault) it suddenly meant the driver lost his license for 4 years, and served jail time for it.
  5. from the reading the whole thread, i understand it this way, he was driving within the speed limits, but too fast for the conditions. he took a corner(im assuming it to be left hand from the discription and pictures, but may be wrong), the car began to oversteer and he lost control, while the car was still sliding/skidding sideways(by this time on the wrong side of the road) a bike also travelling within the speed limits(but then also arguably as the "be able to stop in the distance you can see" rule could be brought up) collided with his car. of course, dispite his story, and the genuine nice appearance of the bloke. i take his recollection of events, to be just that, his recollection, possibly with bits slightly altered to his ideals. (as if you want me to analyze it, hes admitted to driving beyond a speed which was safe, hes admitted to driving dangerously prior to the accident, hes admitted to making overtaking moves on a winding road, he was travelling in a pack of cars that where all sports/performance cars, on a pre arranged meet, and he was showing them a good driving road.) i do question the correctness of him being imprisoned though, also brings to mind a certain story of an accident in bristol several years ago: a scooter rider was travelling up a hill, being followed by an articulated petrol tanker. when the scooter cut out, due to lack of fuel getting into the engine(note it wasnt said he ran the bike dry, the slope may of just caused the fuel line in the tank to become exposed) causing quite severe engine braking, and the scooter to come to a rather abrupt halt on said hill. the articulated petrol tanker behind was leaving enough of a gap to stop, with several metres to spare(quite suprising when you consider its a 44 tonne truck) unfortunately following the petrol tanker, was another wagon, but a much older wagon, dating to pre 1981, where a lap belt was sufficient on vehicles above 3500kg(or it may have been when seatbelts wernt mandatory for hgv drivers) it failed to stop intime and ploughed straight into the back of the petrol tanker, catapulting the driver of the older wagon through the windshield, and into the petrol tanker with enough force to leave a sizeable imprint where his head contacted the petrol tanker. he died near instantly to me if you hit something from behind, its your fault, therefore it was his fault, it could also be argued as the driver of a lorry, and specifically a lorry carrying explosive materials, the petrol tanker driver should of been aware of his surroundings and the close proximity of a following vehicle, and should of pulled up less abruptly, lessening the force of the impact. leaving only a metre or two behind the scooter(its not like the 44 tonne truck was going to be shunted into the vehicle in front). the scooter rider, was given a custodial sentence, for what i believe at the time was classed as manslaughter. hardly fair, turns the whole judicial system into a joke in my eyes. although, yes we should all slow down, sadly most of us wont, or if we do, its only temporary
  6. correction : having them should not prevent you from getting the job. i agree in theory, the best man for the job, should get it in reality if the bloke interviewing you dont like the look of you, or picks up on something about you he dislikes strongly. then he wont employ you, simple as, and at a guess, id say more people(talking company running bosses, suit and tie, 5 series bmw driving, local golf club member here) dislike flesh tunnels and the image they give off. doesnt mean you wont get the job, unless hes got a real strong dislike for them (i know a boss of a company with a million pound plus turnover,he gets the information of the people hes going to interview, and sticks it into friends reunited, myspace, facebook, and sometimes just plain old google, to find out about you, he says 9 times out of 10 with the under 25's hes already decided half the people hes interviewing hes not hiring, just from the look of a social networking page) but it does mean if the person isnt fond of them, as most "adults" arent, if your on par with another bloke, the other bloke with his hoxton fin, designer suit and well shined shoes will get it. extra: just seen jansons post, yay and nay. i agree to a certain extent, same with graphic designers etc, but there comes a point in those jobs, where image is everything still photography: take big posh weddings,or royal affairs or posh gala balls(tuxedo jobbies) they aint going to want the photographer looking magnetized. engineering : comes a certain point in engineering when youll need to go speak to clients to see what they desire, i fit loosely into the mechanical engineering trade(enough for me to state it on my car insurance) im not customer facing really, si-man fits into the engineering category, again hes not customer facing at all i dont think, but neither of our jobs allow flesh tunnels, mine doesnt even allow piercings. a local abbertoir(sp? - place that turns animals into burgers) also has a similar rule on facial piercings. a lot of places do, out of the interest of hygiene/health and safety/possible clients walking round checking out the facilities and workman ship. graphic design : always thought your drawing did the talking in this one, but if mr straight laced living in the 60's owner of the above engineering company, racist, right wing, homophobic, sexist bloke whos a multi millionaire, wants someone to design a new logo for the specialist plastic welding division of his company hes just setting up, and in walks a bloke with inch wide holes in his ears, other than a couple of jokes about "are they to measure drill bit sizes" etc, chances are hes going to be very unimpressed with the bloke
  7. what does forwarded a week mean, slightly confused to as what you mean by that. sky one was 1 week behind with prison break when compared to the us, i dont quite follow it on sky, but all i know is episode 4 was shown on fox in the us on the 8th october, there was then no prison break on october the 15th, and it returned and showed episode 5 on the 22nd october. whether wky will now return next week to show episode 5 is a mystery, there was a advert saying prison break was going on a break, because it had to take a break as it was taking a break in the us, and it was bang up to date, and it would return on a certain date, saw it on sky the other day, but as i dont watch it on sky i payed little to no attention to the advert.
  8. charel, despite whatever your view on piercings is, stuff like flesh tunnels, does close avenues to you in work, unless your not aiming high as sir up there said. yes if your a tattoo artist, or a graphic designer, or a professional athlete, or a number of other jobs i probably dont know exist that earn more money than i could ever hope to earn, then flesh tunnels and the like are fine. but.... if your not one of those lucky ones, then having flesh tunnels and the like can and most likely will make a difference come interviews on my first day at bt i was told if i had any piercings theyd have to be removed.and im not customer facing, in the same way broadband engineers etc are. its all about a proffesional company image. airline staff for example, this would definitely be frowned upon. military, and most likely the police force, wouldnt be allowed. then stuff like offices etc, regular typing offices, most have a dress code, my mate pushes paper for sky, he had to remove his eyebrow piercing. even joe maher for example, has a pretty unorthodox job, he doesnt as such have customers hes got to make a good impression on(in the typical suit and tie sense) but im sure many of the higher class photography jobs, theyd either look down on, or not let you into certain places because of large flesh tunnels. even if they dont 100% stop you from doing the job, in a formal interview with some suits, a flesh tunnel will not make a positive impression, and 99% of the time it will make a negative impression on the person giving the interview, in their head, this translates to a negative impression to customers. proffesional image and first impressions count for everything these days.
  9. same but ive got it down to £110 one month, does make me wonder, should i of got a cheaper contract/more friends

  11. 1.5 litre bottle of morrisons vodka and entry to a club was it?? i dont really know how i spend so much, but i barely ever buy people drinks(i mean i dont ply a girl with alcohol when i take her out, would say other than for the occasional skint mate, i buy no more than 2 drinks that i dont consume all night. i can drink upwards of 65 units on a night out without sticking meself in a coma/vomiting/passing out though. which probably explains where most of the money goes.
  12. lol, i spend £50 plus on a night quite easily and thats just on booze, let alone the bus/taxi/beer scooter home, the kebab etc. average night out costs £60/£70, had nights out costing £130 when ive been to expensive bars(£3 a shot of aftershock, £3.20 a pint places, sinking £100 aint that bigger orderal there) but then thats part of the reason i aint a student.
  13. providing its done well, its a reasonably good idea. 1)its all machined at the factory, to be at exactly the right angle. as opposed to getting a frame thats straight at the factory, then painted, and as the bit where the cups normallly sit are interior sides, coated in paint unevenly, then gettin a set of cups(i had a tioga headset once, that was totally on the piss, couldnt get it straight in 2 frames, assumed the frames came from a bad batch, then when i looked at the cups, i noticed how one was totally off), then you take the mis trained bike shop bloke fitting them, with his blunt worn facing tool(thats if its not installed with a wooden mallet by yourself, or some home made press constructed out of long bolts, big washers and some wood, hell facing tool, wats wrong with a file), and of course all that grease surrounding the cup to help it squeeze in, builds up on one side, and ends up with a slightly mis aligned headset. theres none of that 2)providing the surface is strong, there shouldnt be any problem with durability, how often do headest cups flare these days, and when they do, theyve often been through several frames before they do. 3) takes out that weak point where the cup sits in the frame(hey if somethings got to bend, itll bend and flex there, slowing using the cup as a tool to flare out the headtube.none of that, as theres no join/leverage between the cup and the frame as there one.
  14. lol, i lovd the word douchebag there. but nah cant see why anyone(other than people such as family and close friends. who you probably wouldnt want to charge) would buy it, obviously youll get a couple of people interested enough to purchase it. simple reason, i cant say ive heard of the style that much before, so im not going to pay £4 for 3 tracks of something i dont like, when i could either download it for free, or pop down hmv, spend £3 on an old reduced album from someone whos artwork i like the look of, and see if i like that, if i do, i keep it, if i dont i flog it on ebay for near enough what i payed for it. either that or spend £6 on a classic dance album from a few years back, with 3 hours of music on it.
  15. with a lot of my mates, they wer amazed at how good some food was when cooked, yet how cheap it was to buy ( i used to be a chef for a few months, before i started for bt). stuff such as chilli made with stir in sauce, the cheapest mince, and then chips or rice, generally costs like £1.50 a portion(get the chilli from home bargains, the mince from asda smart price range) is stupidly nice, and generally does 2 big evening meals out of one serving(a jars meant to serve 4, but bollox to that kind of portion were growing lads). stuff such as chicken or pork in honey and mustard sauce, served with chips, or baked potatoes, costs a similar amount (but best off if you and another housemate go splits on the portion, as its dodgy to reheat)save some of the sauce, and a tiny bit of the meat for another dish another time(mentioned in a minute) pot noodles. despite being the so called student food. forget them, at like 80p a pot noodle, there rather expensive. what isnt expensive though, is mug shots, similar idea, but without the pot, they come in a pack, you pour it into a regular mug, pour boiling water in, stir a few times over a few minutes and eat. 3 for £1 at morrisons, and they take up way less space, which is handy in a house packed with like 8/9 people. pasta....buy it, from asda or tesco, they do a 3kg bag of pasta for £1, its the same as the posh 500g bags, but at like 15% of the price, 3kg dried pasta(so closer to 10kg when cooked) goes a hell of a long way, and youve got some sauce and meat from above, dice the meat real fine, chuck it and the sauce in with the pasta and consume. takeaways are generally expensive.so try to bother as little as possible. however if one of your housemates/there close mates works in a pizza place, say to them that you could come to some kind of deal. last year one of my student mates in manchester, was living next to a girl who worked in an independant pizza retailer, pizza planet or summit. his house swung her like 50p-£1 each everytime she came round after work, shed normally bring 2-5 12" pizzas or the like left over at the end of the night, and quite often nick a bottle of pop on her way out as well. she was happy, as rather than bringing the food back and having her housemates devour it, she made like an extra £4-5 for doing no work(so basically an hours extra pay), they where happy they got stupid cheap pizza's. then theres shopping, if your getting general stuff, and your continuing to buy the same as normal, i suggest goin to lidl/netto/aldi. otherwise, choose your times to go, for example, by making one well timed trip to asda at around 9.30pm, you can do wonders. the 24hr asda some of my mates used to live near(i assume most are the same). used to sell its french sticks off at 10p,cooked chickens at like 50-£1, cooked sausages at like 10p a pack etc. so you used to come in at like 10.15, have sausage/chicken butties, that would cost like 15p each, and then have a load of bread to eat for the next day or so. i expect morrisons, tescos, sainsburys do the same also drinks, start drinking squash/water other than pop. your part of a business, abuse that fact, and blag a makro card(if your willing to blag 2 or more(no extra work)(you can blag up to 12 for approved purchasers) ill swing you some cash for it, further helping your problems) but places selling crated koppaberg at £1.15 a bottle after vat, etc can only do good for a student in my eyes. if your doing drugs through uni, then one way to cut back on expenditure is cutting out the coke and mdma.....powdery drugs are not designed for students, drugs in tablet form, were designed with students in mind. although being straight edge is a cheaper option still, and makes you look 'core. as for the overdraft, its interest free, i wouldnt be too shy about gettin one, just dont use it all to quick, you normally get a 12 month grace period to pay it back after finishing uni before the interest starts, and when you come out of uni, youll be used to living on a pittance, so can plough all your money into paying it back, i have a fairly low paying job, and am currently raising over £600 a month to pay off debts/save for a new car, and im used to living a regular life, without money restrictions, and still am to a certain point.

formulas are identical, your just counting the percent as a whole number, whereas im counting it as a percentage, whatever you find easier really though aint it.
  17. FAT PANTS SHUT THE F*CK UP YOU DESPERATE FANNY. youve been in love with her for months, and now you want her dead, just cos she dont want to be with you, she hasnt put you through anything, youve put yourself through it, youve fallen for her too deeply, when in all fairness she only liked you as a mate, and with your recent outbursts, id be very suprised if that was even still the case. the other week she was inviting you round to watch a film, and now shes telling you she just cant bring herself to like you. face it, she didnt like you, she then liked you as a good mate, possibly debating something more, you f*cked it up royally, you threw a hissy kiddie paddy fit, and now shes told you straight that she dont like you as you seemed not to get the hint. people have been telling you for ages to leave it, back off a bit, chill out, move on etc. can you not see we wer right. sorry to sound harsh, but its the way it is. also, perhaps my only consoling thought, if she can make you feel as crap as you do right now, is she really worth it. EDIT : sorry bit slow, been trying to eliminate as many swear words as i could from it over the last half hour, and explain it as nice as i could.

    Alcohol

one unit is 10ml of pure alcohol, so 10ml of something thats 100% would be 1 unit. one shot(25ml measure) of 40% spirit is a unit (as 40% of 25 is, the amount of alcohol in it) most lagers in this country vary between 2.5-3.0 units per pint. generally about half a glass of wine is considered as one unit. correct formula for working it out is (ml of alcohol x its strength)/10. so a pint of 5% lager is (568 x 5%)/10 = 2.84 units.

i consumed upwards of 60 units on thursday night, thats why i felt rough for all of friday and a bit of yesterday. and am now considering kicking the booze for a good few months.

    Alcohol

also according to the mens lifestyle bit of msn usa. consuming 20 units in a space of 3 hours or less, would cause the average 200lb man to be lucky to survive, now either thats a load of codshite, or theres a hell of a lot of people who are drinking 2 pints a night, and would die if they consumed 12-15 units in the space of 3 hours or less. as me and most of my mates, including a bunch of females drink more than that on a semi regular basis. when you start reading into alcohol, it becoms pretty worrying really
  21. apologies here, its not a fat pants problem, which is largely what this thread is now. grrrrr...... lifes never ever ever simple is it. im single, have been for 3 years,im quite happy like this (yes, ive had what some people would call girlfriends in this time, but im not one to admitting to commit), i havent had a relationship over 2 months in length for 5.5 years now. its never been an issue, ive always had enough, had plenty of fun, and have never had this arguin, head peckin, compromising bullcrap, if i wanted to go out, i went out..... but im starting now to kind of think, meh maybe something a bit more stable. but no ones suitable at all. thursday night i pulled a rather hot girl, luckily theres rather a big distance between the 2 of us, so ive got an excuse to not see her all that often, shes rather fit, but a total psycho, trying to get involved to quick, so ive all but binned that already. and itd never last for that long due to a major age difference as well as the distance. theres another girl im texting, but meh..... you can tell shes the kind that doesnt do commitment, she just says shes does, then shags around behind your back several times,(pretty obvious because when i first pulled her, she had a boyfriend, which i found out later that night) then theres the girl my ex is trying to set me up with, me and my ex are real good mates, but she wants me and her to see more of each other as mates(weve been real close since we broke up, but her parents disapproved of me greatly, now shes at uni, shes a bit more free) and as her uni's like 20 miles away, shes under the opinion that if i end up seeing one of her housemates, shell get to see plenty more of me as a mate(as aparently im good company on nights out,and a laugh). but it just seems wrong, that my ex is trying to set me up with a new partner. and on another point, this girl drinks bulmers, and aparently is a bit of a man eater. grrrrr..... where do you lot find all the nice girls, who are beautiful, funny, none head pecking, none bunny boiler, easy going, happy to be designated driver and faithful
  22. only 1 rule that applies above and beyond all else, so it shall be number 1 1. NO PIECE OF ASS IS WORTH A FRIENDSHIP
  23. pretty much what he said but without the caps, and possibly slightly more detail. 1) if she dont like you, she dont like you thats it.....theres no magical way to make a girl like you (barring saving her life or becoming stupid rich, but then she dont like you for you) accept that, and dont waste your time on something that is 99.5% a lost cause. You say you like her, well theres a girl ive liked since this time last year, id known her for a couple of months before, and she was fit,but i never really knew her that well.then one night she made a totally selfless decision, and went to real long lengths because of it. then again she did the same a few months later again, shes one of the best natured people ive ever met, shes totally awesome, real fit, but crucially i pretty much knew after a couple of parties/nights out we both attended, that she didnt like me in that way, so ive never bothered pursuing it....... outcome of it, were still super good mates, whereas hayley possibly thinks your a bit of a psychotic soppy toss pot right now. 2) dont do all this treating girls like a princess, making her feel super special, it dont do you no favours, it just makes you look desperate, modern girls dont want chivalry, especially not at 16, sure open a door for a girl, swing them a drink if there skint, but as a girl, do nothing more for them, if there one of your mates also, then do what you would for mates, nothing more. 3) what exactly are you hoping for with haylee, your 16, im still young, way young, and have a lot to learn but i hope im right in saying, with 95% of pulls/relationships started by people at my age, wont make it down the aisle, and even after that 5%'s down the aisle, over 1/3rd of them will be in the divorce court. you gotta think that even if you did get her, theres a minutely small chance that it will last past the first couple of years(especially seen as this will be your first gf, your first kiss, and your first shag, your bound to make a lot of mistakes, not know what to say/do in situations,(rag weeks, deaths of pets, there friendships, how to get some personal space without lookin narky, know when your pestering etc) 4) why are you so hung up on this one girl, it aint doing you no favours, to any girls that wer lookin at you, there either thinking your going out with haylee, or your slightly obsessive, so there not bothering. i seriously suggest going and finding some 2 bit hoe's to go get some experience with, in dating, and the bedroom department, give yourself a confidence boost. (as confidence is a major thing girls go for, over obsessiveness, and even if haylee was possibly thinkin, meh i might give him a go, when your asking for validation in all your texts, it dont look good) 5) im noticing another lack in confidence thing here, you never once appeared to of actually gone up to her sober, and gone "haylee, you want to go for a chinese and a film on saturday night to kill some time " or "haylee,do you wanna meet up some time for a chat and a bite to eat" or as your 16 you can still get away with "haylee will you go out with me" 6) be yourself, trying to make it look like your being a real nice guy isnt doing you no favours, neithr is being fake, neither is going out looking to pull, it never works, going out with your mates, then when something comes along go for it, but going out looking for it isnt a brilliant way to get it, just go out, be young and have fun, and something will come along, its all ive ever done, and i dont think ive done bad given my below average looks, my above average weight, and my country yokel accent
  24. i really feel someone should make a simons girlfriend joke here right now.....but its not my place tooo. xbox360 games that have occupied weeks of my life forza 2 saints row ghost recon advanced warfighter 2
  25. danny sayin there pussy boys, then sayin go get em with a baseball bat, doin that would make you be equally a pussy boy. yea as simpson said, could of been far worse, ive seen several people get bottled and need multiple stitches, or emergency surgery to remove shards of glass from there eye.all the best on recovery though, and wat happened to the good ol nights out, where it was all about dancin, gettin a bit drunk and being molested by fatties
