aye, thats the kinda thing. and bearing in mind you where only young, its no where near as brutal as itd be if your 22-25, out of curiuosity, where you with a load of english people, or where you in like a thai group and the only english one? (just one of the lads went to one in puket which was basically all english/american/australian people, and it wasnt that bad, but he went to another one elsewhere, where it was him, an american lad, a lad from singapore(kimzach whos on the contender asia, if anyones following it), and everyone else was thai, and he said it was stupidly hard)

wasnt a slur on you at all, more just pointing out, that you probably appear to be following the right path in wills eyes, while to him were all pussy footing around wasting our time. while you are following the right path, its not the only right path as such. couple of lads i went to school with are in the army, there brilliantly built now. sure they work out, but apart from army pt, and casual social sessions in the gym, they dont have a workout, theres no structure to their weightlifting(obviously pt is structured, but not for "bodybuilding") they dont use supplements, dont follow strict high protein low carb diets, with refeed days or the like, they sure as hell dont take it seriously.

i say once more, my opinion, and only my opinion. overtraining isnt really an issue.at all. the point you say of it affecting nearly everyone when they start, is in my opinion, to the body not being used to it. bearing in my mind this is the "weight training" thread and not the "bodybuilding" thread. once your body adapts to something it will cope with it. unless your being totally ridiculous. when you first start training, youll go through periods of hurting for days after a workout.but it soon passes, and your able to train more often, i remember when i first started training, id train monday, and thursday, id hurt every day of the week. theres no way i could of contemplating working out 4 times a week then, with the same amount of effort. I now train with weights 4 times a week and train way harder than i did back then. i look at the lads i know whove been through the thai training camps, the regime there is up early, 6 mile run, shower breakfast,an hour or sos rest time, 2 hours weight training, shower, dinner, another hours rest time, then 2 hours of padwork, which is basically more cardio. dinner, then rest time/sleep. some of them will even throw in a 3 mile run before bed. do 300 sit ups at the end of the weights session, and 200 at the end of padwork.thats 6 or 7 days a week. most of the lads are like 5"10-11,and around 75-80kgs, but there all benching 100kg+ 8 times for 3 sets now there back home. granted, they may not be big, but then thats not what they are after. they are weight training, which is the title of this thread. cant see overtraining has done them much damage. applies to pretty much anything, your body gets used to it, ive worked manual labour jobs cash in hand, and on the first day. where ive sat down at night to eat my tea,i couldnt hold my knife and fork, but theres 40 year old blokes, moving twice as much work as me, and walking home afterwards as there on drink drive ban. because there bodies adapted to it. when i first went out for an 85 mile stint on my enduro bike, me and a bloke i work with, whos 54, went for a thrash over the welsh hills.by the end of the day, i couldnt push me bike on the trailer, i lent me bike over at one point close to the end, and didnt have the strength to pick it back up, but he does it every week, and its like a walk in the park for him, because his bodies adapted to it. not saying you can train as hard as you want 6 hours a day, 7 days a week, and your body will get used to it, but training each muscle group once a week or whatever, can be trained 2 or more times quite easily, your body will get used to it. just cos big mac is sounding like an expert to you, only means hes on the same kinda forums as you. and reading the same info as you. theres plenty of ways to do things, following the advice on the bodybuilding forums doesnt always constitute the only way to success. just because carb cycling, creatine and full body splits are the flavour of the moment on a forum, doesnt mean you need to do them to succeed. people have been bodybuilding for years, when cycling was a form of cardio, as opposed to a way of rotating which supplements you take.

lol,and i bet i can drink them faster than you, janson. game on. fish, when your old enough, ill take you to kitch, and well sit round, and look at all the fancy emo 'tang on show there, but well also take notice of just how many of those 17-19 year old girls youd die to shag, drink cider, and cider and black. compared to guiness. i reckon on a night out, theres almost as many girls on cider as lads. but theres a lot more men on guiness than there is ladies on guiness. as for the 5 pints of stella. i could drink 5 pints of stella and be sober no problem, its not evil at all. its just some hyped up slightly stronger than average lager thats got mainstream popularity. and mr gibson, ruining guiness with blackcurrant, you should be banished to the strongbow brigade for such a crime.

you coming leeds fest/wakestock with me and my merry band of recreational drug users/ alcoholics/ straight edge wierdos??? or your college chums. for me its something like leeds wakestock wasnt plannin on nass, but my mate seems pretty up for it. wales on the motorbikes, for tooo long. few weekends in manc clubbing as you do. and if fishy will have me summercase in barcelona(cos none of my merry band of recreational drug users/alcoholics/straight edge wierdos seem willing to venture out of this country unless its to amsterdam, or to an eastern block country full of cheap prostitutes) that reminds me, there was talk of krakov as well.

more/heavier weights. muscles metabolically active, it burns calories just sitting there, the bigger it is, the more calories it burns. not to mention the large amount of protein and carbs a muscle will absorb when its repairing itself after a workout.
-
erm i disagree. 1) its what works for you, not everyone else. 2) does overtraining really exist(well it exists, but not to the extent everyone thinks it does) amount of time some ones says "im sore, im training too much, i shouldnt be training this hard 4 days a week" its bollox. i used to train 3 times a week, and was sore afterwards. i suddenly went to training 5 days a week(off wednesdays, off sundays), kept pretty the same workout, and just added the extra 2 days in, it hurt like hell for the first few days, then my body adapted to it. in the same way, the first couple of times you go to the gym it hurts, your body adapts to it. also im not being funny, but muels a noob, hell get noob gains no matter what he does. theres little more to it,than sleep, eat clean, but eat loads, and train hard. wouldnt say he needs to start splitting muscle groups once per week or anything.

yea but there used to be some little filipino kick boxer in our old gym, was skinny as could be, proper short, used to squat heels to ass. would rock out 15 reps no sweat with 35kg a side. i today started with 25, but after a stupidly hard first set(almost givin out after 7 reps), i had to knock it down to 20 a side. think im gunna build on it a lot more. just wanna avoid the powerlifters ass.as mines big enough as it is. .

traps, are the bits that kinda connect your shoulders to your neck,at the back. 4 days into me cut, and its all still good, aint clean all week, with a serious low carb diet, people have suggested carb cycling, but ill see how i fair on this, as its only for 5 weeks, till i go back to college. may try a 12 week cut of carb cycling if i need it after that. but feck me, i need to do squats more often, was doing them today with some pansy weight(60 and 70kg), was doing ass touching me heels style like. but am walking a bit funny now.

just for reference, that guys got 20" biceps.
-
unless you made a mistake, or are measuring two, theres no way your bicep's are 21 inches. ive saw a photo of you not that long ago holding a t pro frame. 21 inch is like proffessional body builder size.
-
erm, can use the lil digital machines that u hold on to/strap round you, or some scales have them built in, but there pretty inaccurate as they go on conductivity of your skin, which is bollox is your sweaty/dehydrated/overhydrated. underwater weighing is by far the best method. but for the cheap, reliable way of doing it yourself. accu-measure(or the like) skinfold calipers. can get them for like £8 posted on ebay.
-
whats your bicep measurement now, flexed, but with no pump??? 5 weeks hard cutting for me, probably gunna see an inch off my biceps, but hopefully a lot more of my waist.
-
i always thought you wer some skinny lil un, or at least thats how i pictured you. obviously i was wrong. providin that bench was on free weights. and not the machine. thats pretty beastin.
-
yea, shrewsburys too full of wannabe middle class scum, mummy and daddys credit card, river island, wine spritzer drinkin wannabe socialites. there so posh they dont cum, they arrive. suprised anyone as ssfc has a sense of humour, or the bollox to throw an insult around.

" so, ive slept with a girl listed on imdb.com" - always a good un when your mates are talking about some hot skirt they nailed. "eat sh*t and die" "i know you are but what am i" (accompany with sticking your thumb on your nose and waving your hand blowing raspberrys) in telford, wont the persons girlfriend and sister be one and the same person.

i once made the cookies and creme mistake too, it just sounded sooo goood. but in reality i used it twice, then pretty much gave it to fish.
-
i use whey, i tried a short creatine cycle, but it didnt seem to make much difference. i recommend nutrisport 90+ whey isolate. get it from ebay, jm-nutrition is a fairly trusted seller, and ive had no problems ordering 10 or so lots of him. however i ordered 10kg off supreme supplements/ahl-online, and when dhl lost it, he didnt want to know, so avoid him if possible. other good stuff is reflex, or optimum nutrition, avoid like the plague the cheap carb laden stuff, unless u want to seriously bulk up/have an uber fast metabolism, and maximuscle etc is all overpriced ta feck.

okay, so ive now had 2 weeks at college, which is eating crap(fried breakfast, tescos pasta pot for mid morning snack, kfcs for lunch,a big tea, and then several pints and a kebab) and worked the middle weekend surviving on take away food. just weighed myself, 15 stone 5. with crap eating habits and no gym, ive put on 12 lbs in 2 weeks. thats rather crap to say the least, ive gone out 1-2 notches on me belt too. still, should be back to the gym tomorrow, and should be pounding the cardio over the next month. wether ill keep it up, or revert to weights and standing around looking at meself in the floor to ceiling mirrors is anyones guess.

if its regular cider. then guiness is way more manly. look on a night out, girls are suckers for strongbow, or cider and black, id say as many girls drink cider on tap as lads do. magners and bulmers is a bit more manly, koppabergs a manly drink, but only cos the girls aint got there heads around how sweet it actually is. but i still spy a fair few birds drinking magners from time to time. real cider is manly, but not many people drink it at all, although me do outnumber girls and theres a fair percentage of farmers wife types that drink it too. but guiness, think ive seen 2 girls with a pint of guiness in pubs ever. and i spend wayyyy too much time in pubs.a lot of girls claim to like guiness, but they dont, they like coffee, which is what they think guinness tastes like, as theyve never had more than a sip of it.

im not being funny, but with a few people it will have a lasting effect, but with the majority, as soon as the whole thing has passed, itll be back to normal. i worked in a very good restaurant(that also had seperate function+ buffet rooms for 400, which wasnt quite soo good) but if you saw how some stuff looked, you wouldnt buy it, but it all near enough tastes the same. tuna was a good un, never before had i seen grey tuna till i worked there, it had always looked a healthy pink to me, but once its coated in mayo and wrapped in tortilla's, those 12 board room members of the multi national haulage and logistics company discussing pre tax profits up stairs, with slideshows and projectors, wont know the difference. not many people have endless amounts of money, in fact most people are on tight budgets, most people will buy the expensive chicken for a couple of weeks, to try and give themselves some kind of good warm feeling inside. then theyll go back to whatevers on offer.

yea, i found that, my bmw, unmodified, would come in at £800 a year, a diesel merc worth 8 times as much, producing 1.5x the power, comes in at £826. edit: im an idiot, and tired, i didnt mean a month

lol, you can call me a fat ugly b*stard, thats factually correct and i wont argue it, ill just nod me head and give "+1" to your post.

we never said anyone was, we just said it sticks your insurance up for something which is a pretty expensive and pointless thing to do.spesh if you only plan on keeping the car a year or so 1) as tomm says, bullshit 2) alloys dont really improve handling, not to that point. and what your explaining isnt better handling, its better grip, 2 different things(although they do often go hand in hand) 3) its got sod all to do with the wheels, its all about the tyres. i reckon ive driven about 100 different cars in little under 3 years of driving. by and large the biggest difference is tyres, which is probably what you felt. sure you get a slightly bigger contact patch on the road with wider tyres, but not much. its the same with bike tyres. its all about the rubber, and tread depth. it shouldnt lower the insurance, being arsed enough to change stuff like that to make the car handle better, shows your into "enthusiastic" or "spirited" driving, which isnt a good thing in insurers eyes. also how does a "bag of wank" car like a corsa or nova, make it not worth putting suspension upgrades on. a corsa or a nova, with racing coilovers, upgraded arbs, small alloys, road legal slicks on, will go round corners, a million times better than that civic youve got with badly matched 60mm lowering springs, standard shock absorbers, and 18s that tramline hgv tracks, and wrapped in kingstar rubber. likewise a standard corsa with decent rubber will handle better than a corsa with springs that dont match the shocks and alloys.so dont see why it would bring it down might as well not declare them, from what youve said your driving illegally anyway. (declaring your car, in yours mums name)

as much as i dislike animal cruelty, the only reason that would stop me buying the regular chicken, is the shit treatment of farmers by most of the uk supermarkets(the same on milk etc), and how supposedly the happy chickens, get a fair price for the farmers. nearly all food you buy is treated so crap you wouldnt believe,
