Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread
Fish-Finger-er replied to Has anyone seen my shoe?'s topic in Chit Chat
shagged a girl whose got a boyfriend last night, shes text me asking me to round tonight once she finishes work(about 2.30) the difference being i wasnt really aware she had a boyfriend, till after wed f*cked last night. the fact she has a boyfriend doesnt really bother me an awful lot, spesh as hes a cnut, at least thats the way she tells it. i dont know him. but on the same front, theres a load of blokes on here, willing to whack whoever slept with a girl ben liked/was with. meh, in all fairness, im probably gunna go with the flow and stay at hers tonight as well, just these last couple of pages have made me feel like a bit of twat for doing it. -
lol, did a 1.7 td one of them today, bloke bought it on 40,000 ish in 1998, its now down 93,000, today was the first oil change hes given it. isuzu engined vaux's really are bombproof as far as the engines are concerned, just a sham metal worm is an issue on the chassis. first cars for me were a suzuki swift 1.3 gls, and a pug 306 1.4,

no,because its not what the forums about, the whole idea of the chit chat idea is its for us to chit chat about none trials stuff. splitting it up into more bits just makes things complex, and its not like weve got a high number of photographers on here(just the tf whores are all into their photography) as judging from the watersports thread, theres an equally high interest in that, but we cant go having a watersports thread. if its not broken, why fix it.

the way i see it possibly working, with regards to rapidshare and the like. rapidshare have an agreement with the isps, that when they find and delete a copyrighted file. its url is noted. and all these urls are freely available to the isp's. and ran against the heavy downloaders(i.e those on bandwidth watch/monitoring/fair usage policies) to see if theyve visited said url. if they have, then a strike can be issued.

yea i buy cds semi regular, but like for £2 off ebay when i want them (got "custom -fast" last week for £2.25) i used to rent movies, but the thing is,now choices is the other way from work, the time it takes me to get across town to choices or blockbuster. park up, get back across town, then repeat to hand it back. i could download 2 films in that time but as far as itunes and the like go, give it to me for stupid cheap and ill buy it, otherwise, ill just download it. i buy dvds regularly, and ill spend £20 on a dvd, but itll be an enduro or motocross dvd. buying blockbuster films on dvd doesnt happen with me, unless there like £5, or im stuck in a hotel in milton keynes with a dvd player in the room, and ive got nothing to do for the next 8 hours. the problem of piracy always will exists, its gone from old cassette tapes of spectrume games in the playground, to dodgy vhs tapes off the bloke in the market. to dodgy apps off the blokes selling cds outside bowlers computer fair, to downloading off winamp, to torrents, to rapidshare, isps may block it, just like the market got raided, cds got copy protected, and bowlers started getting raided, and winamp shut down, people will find a way round it, they always do. yea, but then if the record companies wernt making the money, they couldnt fund the new bands to make records, so the whole music industry would crash, as its only the very big bands who can do it all themselves on a big scale, i understand people still need to make money, be it record companies, apple, artists, its just that i feel dropping the price of albums tenfold, would quite likely increase the downloads on itunes a similar amount. if albums where a pound a piece of under, id be buying 20 albums a month no sweat on there, wich is £20 more than anyones getting at the moment.people who buy a song every couple of days, will just buy an album every couple of days. by offering the album download for the price of a song download, and not offering song downloads, no ones going to be buying any less, theyll be buying more. other option would of course be, apple let you buy membership for £50 a year or whatever, and you can download what you want with that money. make it an alternative to rapidshare.

the way i see it, the problem is the cost. an album on itunes costs £9, a months rapidshare membership costs me £6. the way i see it, if itunes reduced album prices to 50p an album. then id be buying albums off itunes. and its not like theyd lose anything. because chances are the people that pay for albums on itunes, would just buy more and so still spend almost the same. but youd get a load of people who use rapidshare/torrents, not using rapidshare/torrents same with lost/pb. and the same with films, make films £1 a film to download and keep. and i wouldnt download as many, but id pay for them all. rather than paying for none. also, surely if this happens, people will just use passworded zip files(much like they do now) with strange file names(much like they do now) and use rapidshare, of course, if the files wer found out, wed get a strike for it. but i think people would still take the risk. either that, or itll go to the old 56k ways again, where we pay £4 to get a dvd with 40 albums on it. once a month via ebay

if its only happening on 1st > 2nd, then a worn syncromesh is probably the cause. honest opinion. change the gearbox oil. dont do anything more. the cost of getting the box reconditioned. will be several hundred pounds(gearbox overhauls are a dieing trade, and the labour time of it will be 4-5 hours easy,at £50+ an hour) and you wont find anyone willing to do it on the cheap as a favour. i can strip down and build gearboxes etc. right down to shafts with no gears on, and back up. would i ever do it on my own car. would i bollox. you can get minimum disc thicknesses.(if your really arsed ill get them for you tomorrow from work). but if there worn, to the point of there being a sizeable lip on there, or ridges in the disc, change them. but id probably change them anyway as after 2 years of driving, the chances there not warped/severely cooked is slim to none) shaking/pulling steering problem could be a wheel balance issue, or it could be something bent. (bottom arm or the like) but if youve been giving the car a thrash constantly, id say just whack new discs and pads on it. change the gearbox oil, engine oil and filter. then get the wheels balanced and tracked. all apart from wheel balancing and tracking, are easy enough to do for a semi competent person at home if they got a decent set of tools(or you should be able to find a mate whod do it for a foreigner for you) (as a rough guide, if i was doing that for a mate. id want £60-£70 + the cost of parts (£20-25ish for pads, £40-50 for discs. £5 for oil filter. £10 for engine oil, and god knows how much for gearbox oil, i dont think ive ever bought any) so your loooking probably at 150-200 for all the stuff apart from wheel balancing and tracking. (another £30-£40)

yea but its nice to know how fat you are without having to buy body fat calipers.
-
according to bmi calculators at 240lbs im clinically obese, i was over 18 stone, which is 252, so i was clearly into clinically obese territory. bmi calculator obviously its bullsh*t as it doesnt take into account lean muscle mass, big boned ness etc/ (or where the fat is on your body). according to that im at 26 ish now, but ive got a fair bit more muscle on me, so i cant really use it as a measure.

downside, when you wanna have a wank to hollyoaks, and you cant just pretend your goin for a crap and sneak of into your room, as everyone is sitting in your room. and theres something wrong about masturbating in the living room(not that id know like, just lets say fatpants mum had a hell of a job gettin the stains out of the curtains. )

interesting, still lists it as faster than the old laptop drives, guess theres only one way to tell if it would actually be significantly faster on a new pc. i knew it was possible, just wondered if it was quicker, and he seems to say it is, although only slightly.

go stand in the corner you southern nancy boy. snakebite is not cider lager and black currant. snakebite is purely cider and lager. i know you southerners have to stick some soft fruity taste in there to make it bearable. but its then snakebite and black, or diesel. snakebitw is lager and cider, no more, no less. no blackcurrant,no stout mix,no spirits- nothing else chucked in there.

would there be any problem with running a 16gb cf card with ide adapter. as a super fast hard drive. or would it not be as fast due to the cf element or the ide adapter? then having like a 500gb hd running along side it with all your other stuff on, just have your os, apps, and the current files your working on on your cf drive?? because lets face it, for the most of us. os. and apps take up a small percentage of drive space. id say on this pc, probably under 10gb is os and apps.

theres 32gb compact flash cards floating round, and there reasonably cheap too (talking around £90 for one) the next stage as i see it, is wifi/3g cards you get for laptops, it wont be long before they become external harddrive slots for say 120gb "external" hard cards.

yea moss side isnt too bad, admittedly down some of the side streets its still very much an area owned by the locals. and certain people run the show. ( i know a couple of lads who where working down there tarmacing the road, a bloke came to them and spoke to them, said if you need anything, come see me, and they thought theyd humour him asking him to get cars moved when they needed them moved, but the bloke was actually someone round there, and cars where moved within 5 minutes, with lil chavs too young to drive coming running up the road to move these cars). but theres plenty of rough areas in manchester now. had a few runs ins in levenshume, certain bits of northenden etc. but sure if you went riding in a large group, you wouldnt get too much hassle.

erm dharma initiative is/was a foundation set up for scientific and medical research. most of its presence on the island was down to arms dealer alver hanso(a name which has been brought up in the lost world a few times but not really explained other than online)(which i guess explains the weird force field, the attacking polar bear, and the monster, all of which would be brilliant weapons for an arms dealer to sell). and although we thought ben, juliet etc, where part of dharma, they actually overthrew dharma in the purge. and took over their buildings, and killed them etc. which makes it highly possible that the boat are dharma, looking for their island back, and after the leader of the group of people that did it, ben. but im now confusing myself here. hope jt or phil can clear this up. dharma where overthrown in the purge, several years ago to say the least, many people think mid 80's to the early 90's. but kelvin in the hatch, was true dharma.and had been in the hatch for 5 years when desmond came. and desmond had been on the island 2 years when the losties met him, which puts it at 1998 when kelvin was put on the island. so unless dharma didnt know theyd been overthrown, then whats going on their timeline wise. also why do the dharma food drops still exist post 2004, if the island had been overthrown long before then, unless dharma wernt aware the island had been overthrown.
-
id say its a twist that hasnt been uncovered yet, but i wouldnt say its so much of a twist, chances are just as bens got someone on the boat, the people on the boat, had someone on the island, feeding them info of ben, hence the reason they where there to find him. also, as ben etc are the hostiles and not really dharma, there the people who overthrew dharma, dharmas cctv etc could still be monitoring the island etc.

see i was going to suggest, you got a load made up, sold a load(enough to make your outlay back,) then once it quitened down, sent the rest off to tarty/trials-uk/selectbikes whoever you could strike up an agreement with. and had them send a set out with every order till they ran out. but then thought, is advertising for a none profit site that good really.

i think, and obviously cant be sure on this, but you used to offer 1mb upload space per post. but you then changed it to 10mb per user. and everyone( me included) had uploaded way more than that in the way of photos, spesh those who are always selling stuff, or members of the photography thread. so without deleting attachments, we cant really use the upload feature, and deleting attachments means some of our old posts become defunct. obviously you cant offer unlimited space, and 20mb is fine for most users. but think for everyone who uses more than that, it would make more sense for us just to use photobucket/imageshack like we used too. because otherwise if someone wants to see pics of our old bikes, or a pic we took a while back, theyre not going to be able to see it.
