  1. yea, but isnt that renowned for being majorly back for the rotator cuff. never really had a need to work shoulders on there own.theyve always come on pretty well with my compound exercises. but just look into incline bench, bench press, shoulder press, dumbell shoulder press, upright rows, seated rows, etc. went to the doctors, they did the usual bulsh*t questions, and measurements, blood pressure was found to be slightly high but always has been, one thing he did point out to me though was when he asked me if id drank or ate anything different on friday/saturday too what id normally eat. and it made me realise due to only working a half day, then goin trainin at like 1.30pm, and feeling pretty unawake when i got to work on saturday morning, id had rather a high(for me) amount of caffeine before i was training, which could be partially to blame. just going to keep an eye on me blood pressure for the next few weeks, and see if anything comes of it.
  2. meh, i can honestly say of all my older friends with jobs etc that have been to uni, theres a grand total of zero earning £40k a year, well actually theres one, but him going to uni had nothing to do with getting the job (as he jumped on labouring for a scaffolding firm over the summer when he was back from uni, went back doing that full time to get some cash when he quit uni, and hes now making ~£50k a year, but thats got bugger all to do with his degree) A goal of a 25-30k starting salary is very optimistic these days, and very few people get it. i know plenty of people whove come out of uni, and got ok(ish) jobs working for councils or whatever, which they only got because of their degree, but there making less than what i make. and as for the working offshore bit, any idiot who went and worked for pirtek or BML fluid power or the like, on a 2 year apprenticeship, whod come out as a hydraulic engineer, could do the same. and also your saying you can get £40k a year in oil, if your working offshore, wernt you offered a job on like similar money to that, with a company car allowance, when you left school i seem to remember.
  3. id argue that fact. im smart enough for a levels in my opinion (12 gcses, 3 a's, 6 b's, 3 c's) i did attend college, but jacked it in. stupid choice possibly. ended up being a kitchen porter, then a chef for a bit, jacked that and now work for bt. im 20, drive a bmw, own a ktm, decent computers, decent camera, loadsa expensive clothes, still got a trials bike somewhere, enjoy regular nights getting lashed. and have over £5000 in the bank, got a pension set up. but with the money my family has, while i was in college, i was working, to pay for a car to get to college and back every day, which meant i had no free time. id of finished college, gone to uni, got out a big student loan, have sold everything i could sell, and come out of university at 21/22, with a degree, and £18000 or so of debt. with no car/no motorbike, no trials bike, no Dslr cam. would say the difference between education and work, would be about £30,000 there(and thats with a year of college slowing me down, and i dont have that good of a job). now considering im going to be on about £23,000 for 36 hours a week by the time i would of finished uni, i know loads of people who have gone into £15,000 jobs just because the markets saturated. but even walking straight into a £25,000 a year job, youd be 38 before you caught up with me financially(obviously you could be promoted, but then so could i on bt). granted money isnt everything, but moneys part of enjoyment, if i was in uni, i couldnt go leeds festival, if i was in uni, i couldnt go out on the motorbike, if i was in uni, i couldnt afford to do half the stuff i do now, which i find fun. and there people who where in school with me now, who used there head, and got a trade nice and quick, and are now scooping around £30k a year. admittedly ive missed out on the student lifestyle, but then i regularly get nights out in manchester, and if i had my job in say chester, or manchester, or birmingham, rather than shrewsbury, id be having much more of the student ish nights out.
  4. dunno if your on about me, but its shit, but to combat that, you realise that no matter what you supposedly did, your mates still stick by you 100%, and also, its a brilliant feeling when its finally over, but walking into a police station to answer bail, not knowing if youd be walking round outside of your own free choice for the next 10 years, is the worst feeling in the world. but its ok, theres a nice rumour going round about me at the moment, that ive slept with someone i havent, which wouldnt normally be that bigger deal, apart from the fact everyone thinks it. also new insanely hot girl, who believes the rumour, is highly annoying, to the point where i dont want to speak too her.
  5. i only spent 2 minutes looking for her, and found her. just go have a look on imdb.com, for shreks body double. its not hard.
  6. well if thats what you said, stick to your guns, changing your story, will just make it look worse.
  7. erm.... the whole point was dont get caught, and you got caught not much you can say, but plenty not to say dont say your supervisor said it was ok, dont try and get out of it. if you dont want to say you took them out of the waste box. you took them out of the bin, when you were sticking the box in the bin, you took them, as they wer in/you were putting them in the bin. otherwise just take the hit, and realise youve been a dick, and its only a shitty small supermarket job you lost.
  8. brilliant attitude from a senior member there, its my disposable income, ill dispose of it how i want. lost £12 altogether i think, although got a feeling i got something in the sweepstake at work, which ill find out tomorrow.
  9. remember having a play with them a couple of years ago. basically their either open access cams, like i know my old college had one mounted on top of a camera shop, to show the town square. and others are CCTV cameras, monitored over the net, which they havent bothered to use securely, either because they didnt count on idiots like us, or theyve got nothing much to hide. so dont bother.
  10. yea ive heard of it, and come close to it myself when doing cardio, but never when having a reasonably calm, slow paced, lifting sesh, or even come close to it.
  11. yea the fronts coiled, theres a few ways of raising it, but there all a bit of a bodge, can space the top mounts out with washers if the bolts are long enough.other option is to get the springs off a derv 205 or the like so theyll be the same height, but higher rated, so will take more force to compress, so will sit slightly higher as standard, and will dive less under weight. but by far the cheapest and easiest way of doing it, is to either get some new tyres, with a different profile. or just get some bigger wheels from a scrappy with tyres on, scrappies tend to want £20 for an alloy with tyres, or £10 with a steel with tyres, dont go and get a set of alloys from the same scrapyard as theyll want more, but get some dirt common 306 xsi or the like alloys, and get 2 from different scrappies, or on different days, then once your done with them, flog them. shouldnt lose much more than £40 on the set, which is less than the cost of 2 springs, and a lot easier to fit.
  12. was about to say brake cable, or a old school camera shutter release cable, although would it not be cheaper, easier, and lower risk for the ipod, if you just bought a stopwatch, and rubber banded it to your bars.
  13. nah aint drank in a while, i probably suffer a bit on the veg, but its no different to normal, dont think its going to be diagnosed over the net, was just wondering if it was something other people experienced when lifting. but doesnt seem to be, so doctors it is
  14. yea, i was planning on going to see the doctor about it. i cant say i breathe correctly the whole time as that whole inhale and exhale with the rise and fall of the weights, purely because you sometimes lift slower, and hold at the top/bottom/midway.idont think it was breathing related as ive never had problems with it all. and i was better hydrated than normal (purely because normally at work, i never drink enough, this morning, i didnt do much, so sat next to the water dispenser all morning) as for dizziness, ive had dizziness, but only when ive either been idiotic and not eaten all day, and gone lifting, or when ive spent way to long on the cross trainer.
  15. ok, im rather worried, had to cut me work out short today. i blacked out on shoulder press. and dont know why. was only doing like 18kg dumbells(if it had been with a bar could of been a lot worse) was feeling fine, lifting ok, but not going stupid heavy, as ive just come from whats effectively 5 weeks off. 2nd set in, about 5th or 6th rep, i started to struggle about halfway up, got it to the top, and was holding it for a couple of seconds. just as i got to the top, i remember just feeling me arms give way, everything went black for a second, and the weights just kinda bounced off the floor. ended up feeling a bit dazed for a few seconds, and was white as a sheet. anyone ever had anything like that before??? was quite scary, and i quit me workout straight away, went and chilled for a few minutes and have come home now. gunna whack a blood pressure monitor on in a bit and see what thats saying. but anyone ever had or heard of anything like that before. only possible things i can think of are; blood pressure. trapped nerve or the like in me neck as i pushed me shoulders forward at the top. or the same with a blood vessel restricting blood flow. gunna take it easy for a few days and see how it goes, but just cant understand it, i wasnt going for it, its not like id done 12 hours work before hand, im not on any medication, steroids or supplements(beside whey, but i been on whey for 18 months, and its protein, cant see it causing anything like this).
  16. not going, but a bloke from works son races it, so ill probably pay close attention to it via the net at work.
  17. got me new pc on monday,(was a mail order jobbie) alls running fine, apart from the soundcard, i install drivers get it working, then the next day, itll say the soundcards disconnected, atm, im just system restoring it and its working, but im not changing any settings after the restore, its almost like it looses the drivers for the inbuilt sound/thinks the inbuilt sound is disconnected. any ideas.
  18. nah meet the spartans is funnier, that little episode of yours really got my hopes up, only for them to be dashed with your manly straightness, babes.
  19. used to be able to do it with a sony video camera lead (in fact any 3.5mm stereo to red, yellow white connector) but with the classics etc, it has to be an apple approved product and has to go through the dock connector to work.
  20. yea but your 12. and it sucks, end of, its about as funny as animal hospital on mute.
  21. with an already weak back, i wouldnt want to be trying that really.
  22. apart from light weight deadlifts/squats. theres few options, things like lying on the floor with your feet tucked in under your ass, then lifting your ass off the floor, and holding your body straight, will strengthen it. that and back extensions. either using a medicine ball, or an incline bench, lie facing down on it, and just straighten your back, once it gets to easy, hold a bumbell behind your head/a weight plate tight to your chest/a dumbell out with arms straight above your head. can also be done on the floor, but i never find it works as well. also consider strengthing your obliques and the like.
  23. its because sponsorship used to generally only mean a big tie in to a company, seriously discounted/free bits etc. however now sponsorship can be something little like a free set of pads. no offence to mr kearns here, but picking him as an example, hes supposedly a necopads team rider. whats he got from that deal, a mate of his has given him some pads as far as i can tell. before that, he was briefly an MJ cycles sponsored rider, dont think he got much to any benefit out of that deal. not saying it in a negative way, but its like for a friend/company to let you have a set of bars cheap/swing you a free set of pads, costs them bugger all, so a lot of people/companies dont expect a lot in return. there not expecting you to wear their shirt every ride, ride for them at comps, bring out videos every month, be jaw droppingly good, all there hoping is, that one or two of their mates will buy a set of pads, so theyll make there money back on the ones they gave for free, and further spread the reputation.
  24. yea, apart from the drink, and (not) the drugs (as im a good boy now) its all about being bollock deep in emo flange. altho as i told fish, dont send your tongue south of the border after friday unless you want to throw up on her. although last year, i saw like 30 bands.
