  1. Wouldnt be that high , and it wouldnt have a fuel rail, as its not common rail, hence the reason its got pump timing.
  2. Bear in mind these days, theres a lot more to it than that. Theres natural riding (I.E riding on natural terrain, but not in a comp Theres Street riding (I.E flowy, manually, spinny lines etc) Theres Street riding (Tap Gap Sidehop, TGS style) And theres natural riding for comps. Bear in mind TGS isnt really about having a bike, thats balanced, or smooth, its about having a bike that enables you to do them 3 moves as big as possible. natural comp riding is about not putting your foot down, working at hard angles, with no run ups, up uneven stuff. Street riding, is more about being able to hold the bike in manuals, bunnyhops, and do spins on it, than being able to tap massively. and regular natural riding,is kind of somewhere between comp riding and TGS (although theres nothing to stop people putting streety stuff or doing flowing lines) but this largely depends on whos doing it,
  3. You mean EGR valve, and thatll just cause poor running, low power, worse mpg etc? If so, dont see that it would cause poor cold starting, but start ok when warm, also no reason for it to start 4th or 5th time(as with fuel and cylinder temperatures, will increase with the fuel pump, and the engine cranking over.
  4. nah you get U shaped brackets(not picture), well i say U, one side is lower than the other, that screw in, so the bottom of the bracket sits on the top of the door frame, and the side screws into the wall, its hooks over it
  5. The brackets are screwed into the wall, its also resting on the top of the door frame, and because of the design, most of your weight is pushing into the door frame on the sides, of the side you are on. It would hold your weight, however, dont buy one, i bought one, its crap as hell, doesnt go together straight, sits at an angle of like one side being an inch higher than the other, but it flexes so its straight when you put weight on it, which is scary. It will hold your weight, and wont pull off the door, but the metal framework itself, isnt sturdy at all.
  6. Sorry to go slightly off topic and sound like a bit of a willy This might be ruining daves thread so im sorry for being a d*ckhead. But i thought i had to say Your poetry skills are whack What was that cack You need to learn to rhyme my way. You tried to rhyme "ill" with "well" you know that sh*t aint swell Even with your rudeboi Essex accent. Theres no way that could sound decent. Never mind if you said it like you was from kent. Also you come across as a bit of a fool As you totally mispelled mule None of you guys from down south can write a poem not mattb, failpants or even "has anyone seen my shoe" Its always us mongrel midland/welsh bois that have to show em Now dont think for one minute that this is me dissing you As if im honest i quite like you simpson And your fairly handsome and buff too Its just youll never right a poem like this son. But yea get well soon dave.
  7. Wayyyy too much ben, i know your a lenghty limbed guy, so youll need to do more isolation exercises to make the gains as pronounced. but bearing in mind looking at most days a lot of the exercises are replicated 2 or 3 times. for example; Monday: 3 types of curl? Tuesday: dumbell squats, squats, leg extensions, 3 of the same exercise? Friday, you got 3 shoulder raises going on, bearing in mind on thursday you had shrugs too? Although, i really cant talk, im sooo lacking in motivation, just cant be bothered to train at all. Inur, its all explosive power, so look at plyometrics, can do a fairly short program, using dumbells/body weight and itd probably help. Stuff like hack squats, but jump up so your body leaves the ground, land on your toes, absorb the landing, stop, then go down again, should improve your explosive power in the legs a fair bit, the alternative is regular squats with say a 30-40kg weight. but if you havent got the weight, make life difficult for yourself, and change it to hack squats.
  8. Alternatively from dodgy diesel, is cooking oil, and theres plenty of people using cooking oil in the engines. not really sure what it is. seems youve checked things like glow plugs, providing your getting a decent amount of fuel, and compressions good, the only thing it could be, which no ones mentioned, and no ones checked by the sound of it, is pump timing? has it recently had a cam belt change? if the timings half a tooth out, itll be advanced/retarded (snigger, you know you want to) making starting when cold difficult as hell, it doesnt explain why its got worse this week, but its worth checking.
  9. Yes, but weve already got an xbox live thread, which would probably suffice for sticking in xbox problems too. And the bit about charging people, hes been plugging his site,(which basically repairs and chips xbox's) constantly for the last few days.
  10. Its back, if you download it, if not, its on sky on sunday.
  11. when i was in college, home bargains had the policy of not selling Red rooster to under 16's. in addition to this, when i was 20, the co op id'd me for redbull, when i asked how old do i have to be to buy it, they failed to answer me.
  12. I have diagrams of the engine up on my pc in front of me, although not going to post them up here, as suposedly i need written permission off ford to copy them, and not sure quite how sh*t hot they are on it. But basically, on the 1400 tdci engine you have a set up like this. And jardo, thats pretty much exactly how the 2.4 transit engines work. The cams sit along side the valves on the outside of them. the rocker shafts sit above them. sort of like so.. obviously one sides exhaust one sides inlet, there not to scale, and the valve timing isnt correct.
  13. that was more in reply to simons post that the engine wouldnt turn over it was a cambelt snappage. that some engines would turn over. and some dont (bearing in mind you dont really make a habit of trying to turn over vehicles with snapped cambelts) , but weve had a couple of TD5's, a vivaro and a combo(yea the combo and the td5 are chained, but it wasnt the chain in casing stopping it turning) that would just not turn over at all, so ive really got no idea how many vehicles will still go with a snapped cambelts, but i can confirm that some do, and some dont. My bad, despite having them at work, have never done a compression test on one .didnt think theyd be that bad to get to though. Out of curiousity what special ford tools are needed? Just looking on Etis now, it doesnt look that hard really, disconnect injector harness,EGR pipe off, glow plugs out, compression tester in, job done.sure its not a couple of minutes, but doesnt look that bad and the need for special tools is about zero (most garages have a comprehensive diesel compression tester, or so id of thoug).t. Semi agree on the need to have WDS/IDS, but for a decent technician, surely an oscilloscope, a decent universal diagnostic machine and a multimeter could go a long way to diagnosing the problem. should be able to read any fault codes, and with a decent machine, get fuel pressures etc, and test and scope up injectors with a multimeter and an oscilloscope. Used to think similar to you(and as a garage we still do, despite having ford and vauxhall warranty status, if its complex, send it back), but one of the tutors at college refused to be beaten by problems, i kinda thought he was a sad git(used to tell us how hed take a new diagnositc tester home with him, to learn how it works ) but he did kind of open my eyes, to how much you could actually do with a oscilloscope or a multimeter if you knew how to use it properly. Adam, just seen your post, and im very very sceptical of the garage now and i wouldnt be banking much on getting the bill under £600 (cambelt change alone would be a couple of hundred id of expected.if their doing it properly, the head should be skimmed and fitted with new gaskets, another £100 or so, cost of valves and the time of repairing/refitting the lot)
  14. In that case, give us a heads up on the next car so i cans start writing some jokes for it already.
  15. Magical stereo hidey flap, which is great till thieves work out theres a flap there to hide it, and then break into your car, smashing your window, to find youve for a £12.99 8 track player Do we have to stop with the old man jokes, and start on the clio jokes now?
  16. thats because we generally couldnt give 2 sh*ts, providing we can urinate, masturbate and fornicate, thats enough to keep us happy and then some. As for the kids, personally i say let them nosedive. Now for my pet hates. People who order guiness, when its busy, or even when its quiet, but im the person behind them in the queue. People who drink black aftershock on a quiz night. People who carry a blade to look tough, no my friend, you just look like a c*nt. Dog owners who let their dogs crap anywhere. Ramblers, not all ramblers, just the ones that close gates right in front of you, put logs in front of you, tie rope at neck height across green lanes, and throw hiking poles through your wheels. im entitled to be there as much as them. People who try and play manchester pool rules in wales, likewise people who try and play wales pool rules in manchester. JonMack Girls who demand attention(thatd be most of you then). People that cant understand drinking a lot isnt a drink problem, drinking more than you can handle is.
  17. Want to rethink your diagnosis a little? Technically not all cars will fail to turn over with a snapped cambelt and indeed some dont really make a noise, but it doesnt really sound like the cambelt (as it is an interference engine). And other than the valve timing, theres very little to a diesel aside fuel. Dependant on the RAC mans knowledge, he may be spot on, or may not have a clue (as they use a guided diagnostic computer, they put in the fault, and tick yes and no boxes till it narrows it down enough for them to have a stab in the dark). Generally speaking one would presume it would be fuelling. and it would explain the garages diagnosis (as Common Rail fuelling is rather a scary thing for many garages, partly because they dont understand, and partly because they dont have the equipment). One would suggest asking the garage to carry out a compression test (as its rather cheap, and aside from the cambelt, which any semi trained mechanic should be able to see whether its gone in a couple of minutes tops, even if there are covers on there to take off, the compression test should be able to rule out most serious engine issues). But without having the car in front of me, could be anything, from the really odd (snapped camshaft/rockers) to the stupidly simple (crank speed sensor) to many different issues on the fuel side. Did you have DTUK box on your fiesta, if so, id remove it and try again, never really heard of them causing any trouble, but if it has shorted out, it only alters fuel rail pressure readings, and if it showing an excess of pressure constantly it could cause the pump to shut down, or if its showing no pressure, may stop the injectors opening till the pressure picks up again(which of course it wouldnt)
  18. Think Heath (r2wtrials) is somewhere near 40, and a load of his mates are older guys who ride too. Themechanicalbear on here, whos only just joined, pass as to whether he rides, but hes 34. And ive got the knees of a 70 year old if that counts.
  19. glad to see your reverse psychology course went well
  20. then i suggest finding a mate who knows a bit more than you to give you a hand(its no use us advising you, as when you lose the net during your reformat, and your stuck, were not much help)
  21. Most vague question ever? No ones going to know without knowing every exact component on your pc, as opposed to you owning a pc, i own a pc in the loft, which wont run windows 95, or i have the pc im on now, which could probably run for president, there both pcs, and thats all the info you given us. Find out what hardware you got(and the drivers youve got installed now) and type them into google, with vista on the end, should be able to see if you can get drivers for them then.
  22. Ive been a bit scared off by vistron, after hearing of 2 people who bought the 32 inch model they have off ebuyer, and one with 4 days, and another within 11 days began to fail, they both returned them and got their money back, but if there turning themselves off, and button on them are stopping working after a few days, what are they going to be like 18 months down the line. for £200 you can get a 19inch samsung, to get anything branded at 22inch, your looking to stretch to £250 for a goodmans or the like, but then add an extra £20 on that and you can get a 26 inch goodmans, thats all off the comet website. Id perhaps go walking round the stores (comet, dixons, curries etc) see what deals are about see what tvs you like the look of, then go online, enter them into google, read the reviews and see the google shopping results. Although i am kind of getting to the point now, where Id rather spend a few quid extra and buy from a shop, rather than have the hassle of being lumbered with an e-company which are a bitch to get hold off/return stuff to.
  23. Dont get me wrong, bristols a good night out, but after having 60 or so of them, the citys getting very tired to me. We occasionally find decent places that arent normally decent, but it seems to be a one off. I dont know whethers its because i go on a weekday more than a weekend or what. I just find that with 100+ nights out in manchester, the place still isnt really gettin boring, i quite often hear mates talking about clubs ive never been in, and it just seems quite easy to find a night out most nights no matter what your taste in music is, take me personally im kinda into rock/pop rock/pop punk/indie etc. I know on a monday i can go ritz, tuesday i can go satans, wednesday i can go PBR, thursday i can go thursday night jillies(the only night when the place isnt terrifying to walk into),friday theres a fair few places, and the same with saturday. thats before i start mentioning all the manchester indie venues (south,5th ave, 42nd street, the venue etc). Compare that to bristol, if you want a rock/indie night in the week, only ever really found syndicate on a wednesday. Normally only ever seems to be one busy club per weeknight(no matter what music your into). Whereas went to Cardiff on thursday, ended up in walkabout most of the night, but chattin to people in wetherspoons, there where a few busy clubs there most nights. As for Bristol being a real nice place, i guess it kind of is, its rather pretty and isnt hell to drive/walk round like a fair few places, but i dont think thatd ever warrant me spending 3 years there over somewhere else. And its as much its downfall as it is a blessing, in manchester, i know off oxford street i can get a bus to the residential areas just outside the city (fallowfield, didsbury, northenden, stretford, sale etc) every 5 or minutes most of the way through the night, as opposed to bristol, where public transport doesnt sem that brilliant at all, especially not later in the night.(cant even really get a bus to within a couple of miles of where were staying)
  24. This is why i love you, that and your large and cuddly, you remind me a bit of a shaven panda(although i think pandas mate more than you), in fact youll remind me even more of a shaven panda once ive given you 2 black eyes for forgetting ive changed my name.
  25. whats so great about bristol? or is it just their real good at somethings? Im just curious, as ive spent 32 weeks over the last 3 years down there, and nothings seemed that great about the city, sure its not a bad place, but it hasnt seemed brilliant, so couldnt see you where going there for the nightlife. Is it just if you go there, your more likely to pass, or more likely to pass with a decent degree? or is it a case of a degree from bristol counts for more than a degree from manchester met, when it comes to job interviews?? Sorry, im kind of out of the loop for universities and degrees etc, just kind of curious. Also you say to be assessed on a par with other applicants you have to have your application in by the 16th of whenever it was, what is the latest you can apply and get in? Just semi curious as i may be wanting to attend in the future(got my qualifications on thursday, and ive got enough UCAS points to get me into university twice, currently doing an extra qualification, and ive possibly getting another 2 years to go ontop of that further, but if the additional 2 years doesnt happen, id be looking at going to univesity(probably september 2010 now)
