  1. Ive just bought some Pro Tec gloves off wiggle, regular dirt jump style gloves, but at about £12, they where way cheaper than anything else out there right now. may be worth a look.
  2. Because your a women. I was semi tempted to say nonsense about the supermodel thing, then serenade you with beautiful by christina aguilera. Then i realised that The Kearn-inator is going back to doing karate. and i like my head unchopped.
  3. but then to throw it right back at you, what happens if them 5 people will continue to drain the NHS on life support, housings a bit meh, as for food, last time i went to tesco's there was enough to go round. And what happens if shes still going to be a 50 year old munt, and these are all fit horny teenage girls who need these organs. 5 terminally ill people, after going through such an experience, will probably offer a greater good to the world (either through charity work, or near death "seeing the light/meaning of life" moments) than one rather vein women. But it also raises the point of, its your job to anaesthetize, not to save people, why meddle in the unknown. does your answer change if the vein women is your mum? does your answer change again, if the vein women is some randomer whose won the lottery, and the 5 people are all your family members? On the save 5 vs kill 1, id say id probably stick her under, but theres a lot more than that(such as the 5 peoples medical conditions, where they selve inflicted?)
  4. maybe its not in the british nature to pay over the odds for a months use of a frame??? Nah, only kidding, I think your problem with the uk is because were such a small country, with a relatively big trials scene. Weve got an abundance of good condition used frames available for a similar price to that, available both on the forum, and through mates. weve also got a relatively cheap postage system (due to the small size of the country), meaning a frame costs you the equivalent of about $13 to send across the whole country (so surely you can appreciate when people are bing charged 8 times this to move a frame round, some of whom wouldnt even be posting it). Also as were a fairly close knit group who largely get on as a whole, and a lot of us are either in university in one place, and live with parents elsewhere, but still go back every couple of weeks, as well as a few of us travelling the country fairly regularly, its quite normal for us to move frames around through mates. on top of this, the uk's been hit harder than others by the credit crunch, so while 10 months ago, the $100 dollars, would of worked out at £48, its now 40% higher. Also, as a nation were used to gettin screwed over by customs and excise, and the government in general at every given oppurtunity, so we generally tend to evade customs and duties wherever possible. so being charged $100 dollars a piece, for something which wed normally blag, doesnt go down that brilliantly.
  5. Yea, so much for our "confidence goes a long way chat on msn t'other day" Could of been worse, in my state id of gone for "nice tits lurrve" or "whats the difference between a knife and a condom" "pass" im not prepared to use a condom"
  6. handin out girl trouble advice fatty. get a girl, get some trouble, work out how to sort it, then get back in here and give advice, you suggesting drugs solve your girl troubles?? just been listening to bob marley, no women, no cry have we? Till your girl to years on this planet ratio exceeeds 1:17, STFU! As for Ryan, honestly, as brutal as it sounds, go out the weekend and pull, itll either make you realise she wasnt all that, or that actually she was better than you though, and no matter how much crap she gave you, she is the one.
  7. chaarrrrlieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  8. erm keep it simple. having welded alumium before, i actually found it slightly easier than steel(granted machine was pre set up for me, and my joints wernt tested for strength) but it just seemed easier to see where your going, and to keep the weld pool flowing where you wanted it. but with no heat treating etc, and the higher cost of the material, (and the availability of it in your desired sizes) steel is probably a better option. got a bunch of old 1inch steerer steel frames if you wanted them, just drop me a pm nearer the time. likewise got some horizontal and vertical drop outs in alumnium, an aluminium bb or 2, and a 1 -1/8 aluminium head tube if you wanted it. Dont see your adjustable brake mount being hard to make, but is it going to get you extra marks ( braze a steel plate on with some bolt holes on at 12.5 inches from the centre of the axle. can then make adapters out of 1/2 or 3/4 inch square steel bar, either drilled and tapped ( 1 set for maggies, 1 set for v brakes, for each wheel size) ) seems easy, but in reality, its several hours work + for something your not really going to get much use out of (how often do you change your brake, and is the frame going to last that long) and may not get any better marks for. EDIT : i wrote this before psycholist posted, but took to long in replying before you all flame me for copying.
  9. theres plenty of ways round it as far as i can see, get it ground shipped to someone who travels between the us and the uk semi frequently(or just that you know is going to the uk) who doesnt mind taking a frame over with them for beer money. Find the price of it going one way insured to the uk for however much. every rider sticks in say £5 and that should cover it. at the end of the 12 months, you can worry about getting your frame back (i.e whether you want it back, and how its going to get back, afterall we can get it posted over for £40 insured to £150 (as in secondhand its not the end of the world if it gets damaged) and everyone sorts the internal postage out as part of the agreement (i.e it goes by hand for free if you can, if not its the riders responsibility to cover postage to the next rider(save when its moving countries) You wait till you got a frame coming to the uk (is ben leacock still ordering one) find out their postage cost for one frame, then find out the cost of 2 frames sent together. it will be lower, you come to some sort of agreement that they will take delivery of 2 frames, and have someone come and collect one/post one on for you. Or you suck it up, and pay the postage for the cost of the frame to the uk, and then everyone posts it themselves (as it seems had been suggested many a time in this thread) on from there, you lose the small amount of cash now, but you make that back with the first person who orders a frame due to seeing this "experiment" or riding the bike out on a ride, or seeing a pic of it in bike pics thread, or even being a test rider and falling in love with it. as for the insuring it for $700, are you saying its going to be costing us £500 a piece if we want to buy the frame in the uk??or are you making a loss on every frame you make?? and as for not being willing to insure it for £150 ($250 dollars)if it was me, Id rather take the very small risk that an insured parcel goes missing and risk the "experiment" not going ahead and you only recovering $250 dollars, than charge everyone $100 dollars postage and have the "experiment" and the publicity never occur.
  10. just out of curiousity to those people who are buying the frames? whats the end cost to them per frame? Also, not sure if its any use to you, but we can ship a 5kg parcel to the usa of for £40, insured up to £150 as standard. if you put it down as a gift, with a value of £150. duties and vat wont be much on it(as bearing in mind, were not actually paying for the item, so as far as customs are concerned, its a gift)
  11. Not wanting to p*ss on your chips, but think your going to count a lot of people out with that kind of pricing( bearing in mind your asking someone for £70, when they might not see the frame for 9 months (or at all, if it breaks)) so they might get the use of an absolutely battered frame for a month for £70. when they could pay a customer builder like marino £30-£40 more for a custom made frame, or buy a slightly different geometry frame to the one they got now for £70 second hand (as everyone but the 1st person is getting a second hand frame), then sell it on a month later, and buy another till their out of cash. Also the cost of posting a frame shouldnt be that much, I buy most of my motocross gear from the us, and the shipping isnt that much for a 5kg parcel. so the initial cost to get it over here isnt goin to be that much, and once over here, its going to be £10 each to post it on to the next person/free if its handed over, till it leaves the country. Its gone from looking like an experiment/publicity for your brand. To a way that you can make $3700 for 3 frames, and get the frames back at the end of it. (obviously I realise your not going to be making that money, but thats the way it will look to many people).
  12. on top of that, you never ask a question, its always a closed text, like its all you need to say. theres nothing for her to reply too.
  13. im in a shit spot right now, just gone to my bike, my rear brakes knackered, like the levers solid, then just gives way, no movement at the pads, anyone in southends/that area of essex got a spare rear brake i can buy/borrow/rent. likewise that offers to anyone whos staying at simpz tomorrow night. i will reward with beer money on the night out. Front brake feels fairly knackered, but not that arsed about that. the rears dead to the world though.
  14. Lol, guess if your not willing... i best break out the cable ties. So to contradict fish's post about his good ol shropshire self being ready. despite the fact that im "born ready" I still got loads to do. I need to find and assemble, then dissemble and load into the car, my bike. I need to fit 2 tubes into my wheels (1 in each) I need to find some clean clothes, both for the ride, and tomorrow night I need to shower I need to find my shoes. I need to sort out our route. I need to make a cd for the journey. (17 tracks of phenomenom straight cockney on one cd im thinking)
  15. might know a lad who wants this possibly. will speak more at some point in the near future
  16. You bet, and fertilised ones as well. My girl trouble is.ive got an extremely fit one on the bounce, but i dont really like her, shes fit as hell, a nice girl, but just way too immature, ive been dragging it out as a bit of fun for over a year now, do i cut it off as shes just too immature, or try and string it out some more(nothing much, just the odd text and phone call) in the hope shell grow up a bit, shes good fun, just really annoys me when shes "gets materialistic and shopaholic wannabe top shop princess hottest girl ever attitude" every so often.
  17. You knows it clart (is it obvious from my last 2 posts im listenin to GLC right now) btw, where you listenin in on our msn plans??
  18. Oi! what are you doin puttin her name in hearts, (which dont work) only i can do that.
  19. Heres the reason to all your issues with her. nah, seriously just move on, theres like over 1000 girls in london, 1 of them must be willing to make love with you.
  20. Maybe she just thinks texting you is better than being silent, and that sitting next to you on the train is slightly better than sitting next to an old women who smells of cats and cant control her bladder (how is your mum these days anyway?), but shes not really interested in going out with you, or being mates that go the pub etc. But next time she says shes bored, text her saying "me and a couple of mates are in the bricklayers arms/leaking tap/red lion, come along if you want, have a drink, play some pool, just chill out" of course, you then have to find 2 friends, and get in said pub fairly sharpish. but i used to find that approach often worked, although that was back when i used to practically live in the pub. Do not invite yourself over to her house, do not invite her over to your house(because you live in a cat and bike filled hell hole and have plastic pee sheets on your bed), and dont make it sound like a date.
  21. Johnny mc, i cant be of much help to you, but... theres a subsidised offer on our local train service, wrexham or shrewsbury to london, for £10 each way... not sure how much wrexham to liverpool is (to be fair its on the way, as liverpool, wrexham, shrewsbury birmingham fall on a straightish line) but im sure its like £12-13 return or summit silly. which makes it like £32 all in, which isnt bad.
  22. Yea, i was wondering this, just for a note, me and fish probably wont be riding london on the saturday...will hit southend in the avro, get some scran, and meet up with you boys when you come back on the train. but yea, for the sunday, theres a lot of bikes. (not knowing the fenchurch line or that end of the country, will there be more people jumping on the train part way down as well). Also, just to add to your Mandem count there, Ian, and Bessell I think are coming from southend too. Bought tubes today, fish is sorting me out with QR skewers, might helicoil my brake mount tomorrow night.
