  1. stick it on trials central mate(and also keep an eye on their classified section, ive seen some suspiciously cheap bikes on there, and not had replies when ive asked for photos of engine numbers etc)
  2. Whats the point, I came in here to vote "no" as I think she should stay, and theres no option for it. Are you scared that shes got cooties or something, shes a girl, on a mainly male forum, get over it. granted the fact shes an alcoholic is starting to grind my gears a wee bit, but its not like shes the first to post like a complete tard when drunk.
  3. to max, check out urthboy too, another aussie hip hop dose of mintness.
  4. you think daves going into this thinking this is "the one", daves going into this, thinking it might be tighter than your average.
  5. problem solved, front and rear juicy carbons purchased. Eek!!! thats 20% of my ibiza fund gone.
  6. I know in the body building world, following drug use, users often take various female hormones, including estrogen, to help restore the bodies natural balance, often temporarily creating feminine characteristics in the users(widened hips, gyno(growing of breasts),voice raising an octave or so) Im only assuming its the same in road racing??? if this is the case, I think you need to double check your dosage, because you sir, seem to be on your period. Seriously, chill the f*ck out, if you cant take a joke, your on the wrong forum to be honest, when people cant make light hearted quips about road riders being on drugs, you dont need to take everything to heart, jumping on your high horse and defending us. Ive seen/had/ and read plenty of abuse off road riders, aimed at mtb'ers, bmx'ers, and other members of the public, none of them took it to heart to much. Your defending the sport like you 100% know riders dont take drugs, which is absolute bullsh*t.
  7. Yea, id kind of like to stick with avid, hence the bidding, not because ive been overly impressed with my brake, but because ive got 4 brand new sets of sintered pads for them here(well one with a weeks use) can get a set ( f and r )of juicy 3's brand new for £81, juicy 5's for £110, or ultimates for £240. hopefully ill win this second hand ultimate on ebay, and keep the front brake for now, then change it out in time. have been lookin at the deores, just kinda thought if i could get a hfx 9 for £25, id have a cheap spare rear brake. and order a new set of ultimates when i get payed.
  8. Yea i got Zion I and the grouch - Heroes in the city of dope, quite a good album. Check out the Chicarones. Hilltop Hoods, Urthboy, Bliss n Eso, Dilated peoples.
  9. hondas generally only have a very small system, so they dont blow as cold as other air cons, however using a thermometer(such as one youd use for food or body temps) putting it in the vents you should get it below 10 celcius, can you hear the pump clicking in and out when someone presses the button?
  10. ive already got a pm to is adaptor (160mm) on my juicy 3. so i just buy it now, ill be able to stick it straight on, with my current rotor?? think the issue may be partially solved. currently bidding on a juicy 5 and a juicy ultimate on ebay.
  11. right im currently running my xc bike, with the standard juicy 3 brakes, 160mm. however due to a few incidents, the rear calipers given up the ghost(its sticking, but ill be honest, the bike got dropped in the sea, as well as being subjected to some very gritty/dirty riding etc) and it wont free off properly. now im looking to change the brake, but on the cheap. so ive been looking at this(yea i know its cheap, basic, and big, but itll give me the extra stopping power id like as well, on the cheap) hayes hfx 9 brake which is a post mount brake, designed to take 203mm rotors i think?!?!?! my bike currently got an IS mount on the frame, with this adapter on the rear, basically an IS to post mount 160mm adapter. my question is what would I need to sort out fitting the the HFX 9 to the bike, do I need to buy a 9" rotor and keep the current adapter, do i need to buy a bigger adapter and a bigger rotor(if thats the case, couldnt i keep the current adapter and keep the rotor/change to a 180mm rotor) as in what exactly do i need to buy, so itll bolt on my bike?? or if I need to buy adapter and rotor(dont quite see why, as itll bolt onto my frame with the adapter ive got) what other cheap options can you suggest?? (talking below £70 if possibly for a brake, but the cheaper the better, as i can get a set of juicy 5's for £110 for front and rear if im willing to wait a week, but i really want to ride wednesday night)
  12. Bit of joe strummer and the mescaleros, specifically the album "streetcore"
  13. youve got the wrong end of the stick with that one im afraid, basically swine flu isnt a danger to people unless trheyre elderly, very young, or vulnerable, as a current kemo patient, my mum falls in the latter of these, shes basically been given information about what she should and shouldnt do (for example, things like theatres, cinemas etc are off limits, due to the prolonged time sitting in a warm enclosed area with a high concentration of people etc), likewise shes been told to avoid the trains at rush hour, and the tube full stop(not that that concerns us in shropshire, where there is no public transport really). The idea being that if a kemo patient(along with other people with serious health issues, or an older person got swine flu, its much more serious, due to the lack of immune system. and due to the large percentage of people who are in pharmacies, are there because theyve got something wrong with them(i.e hter ill, so have a lower immune system, ttheyre undergoing treatment, so likewise, or there old and on permanent medication, so agai, have a lower immune system) the idea that your going to have hoards of people coughing and sneezing pig death in there throughout the day, before people with no immune systems walk in there to collect their prescriptions, isnt ideal.
  14. theres taps, however, bring bottles, bottle water the night before, if you need water to wash your teeth/sort out your dry mouth/get rid of the brain swell in the morning, on a sunny day, you can queue for like 40 minutes to get to the taps.
  15. meh, it depends on where you camp, if you camp in yellow bubble, its absolutely rammed, likewise there are parts of blue and red that are rammed. but then theres parts of it which are more like that, then you get to brown, and youve got space for a vegetable plot and grazing land next to your tent.
  16. erm, your wrong, s it does have a crankshaft position sensor, otherwise it wouldnt know engine speed for a start . you remove it to stick the locking pin in when you do the cambelt. granted, as i said, its not going to be the cause of the problem and its timing is adjusted using a solenoid or stepper motor, so its not just a rotary pump, as the cold advance and light load advance are electronically operated, which kind of sounds like the issue. also, do you not think it sounds exactly like the syptoms youd get if the solenoid was iffy on one of the transit lumps? hence my idea for a diagnosis. Im sorry, but im not 100% convinced by your knowledge, as on the topic about adams fiesta, you said checking compression on a 1.4 tdci lump was a stupidly involved tasking requiring special tools etc. yet even when using ETIS to advise me on how to do it, it required no special tools, other than an adapter to allow you to get the correct angle to get the compression tester in place. and a suitable adapter would of come bundled with any universal compression tester, that id expect a garage to own. once its going the glowplugs arent really doing jack, not to mention this time of year, there not really doing jack, so dont see how itd be worth changing them, as for the fuel filters and priming pumps, despite no longer having any escort vans we run jcbs, winch trailers, and generators with them, and are quite often replacing filters due to the O rings leaking, or the priming pump due to it perishing and cracking.
  17. Itll have both a knock sensor and a crank position sensor, however theres not a chance in the world i can see it being the crank position sensor. One personally would go for the fuel pump, theyve got a rotary cam that advances and retards the timing(cant actually remember how its controlled on those engines, think its a solenoid though, as opposed to a stepper motor.) either the solenoid controlling that, or the actual pump assembly itself. basically its struggling to control its timing. as it advances it too far, it starts to knock, then as it cut backs and retards it,it just cant hold the happy medium ground. it almost causes it to cut out, at a guess the smoke is just the unburnt fuel. Obviously thats a pretty big stab in the dark, but itd be kinda where id start looking. as with any vehicle running the Lucas CAV fuel filter, they do give trouble, due to the large number of rubber sealing rings in them, that can mean they give up the ghost, and also the primers on them, often perish and split, which would cause running problems(possibly almost cutting out at idle, lack of power) but dont think theyd be causing the knock though.
  18. aye, if they were in stock anyway, cos this tard forgot, but yea. you just buy them seperate.
  19. Erm, they work as in you have a ticket, you get in early. nah, in all fairness they worked differently in 07 to 08. In 07, because evryone was waiting for them to open the gates all day, when they finally opened the gates at like 3, it was basically wave your tickets in the air and go in. you could of got in without an early bird ticket/even without a ticket. then when youd set up camp, you could go to wristband exchange, and you had to give both tickets in, to get a wristband(although unless you wanted anything from your car, you could of waited till 8am the next morning and just got wristband, or blagged it and said the security at the gate took your early bird ticket, and ripped it in 2, (as they where meant to be ripped so they couldnt be reused) so you assumed they where rubbish. Last year was totally different, there was no wristband exchange, other than at the main gate, so before you got into the festival.you got your wristband, you walked past security, into wristband exchange, before getting to the festival camping area, you couldnt avoid it, however, I dont remember quite how it worked, because people stood around in there with bags etc, so their mates could get wristbands. cant remember if there was security on the exit to the tent.
  20. If you want cheap parking in shrewsbury, you can either park between morris lubricants and RAC autowindscreens, on the road that goes between the 2. for the first 200 metres or so of that road, theres no parking charge, and im sure the pub just slightly further back into that estate is now shut and has a massive car park. Failing that, park at the severn apprentice(pub), stick £2 in an envelope, write your reg on it, and stick it through the letterbox(or if there open, hand it to the barmaid) its there unofficial pay and display method. both places are within 3-4 minutes of the station. Also does Wem not have a station with free parking(and is fairly close to you i think, although that side of shropshire does confuse me)
  21. got 4 weekend tickets, could do with 4 wednesday tickets, still not 100% ill attend, but yea, line up looks pretty good(too much stuff clashes for my liking, but thats life i guess)
  22. Hence my Pm asking what exactly your plans for the place where, as youve given us very little info(understandable on wanting people to nick ideas, hence why i left it to pm) as im not quite sure, is this just purely going to be 1) skatepark and trials, 2) skatepark, trials, dirt jumps 3) skatepark, trials, dirt jumps, bmx track?? or is it going to include general mtb'ery, or other sports. as i said in a pm, if you want me to come up one day, have a look at what youve got,and give you some ideas/input, im more than happy too. but we could really do with seeing/being told what youve got landwise(as terrain/space is vastly important, on a purely natural trials park in a hillside, 1/4 an acre is a massive amount of land, with enough space for 15-20 sections (uphill/downhill/cross camber etc), but if its flat, tarmac/rubberized, with street obstacles, 1/4 acre is enough space for a few layed out sections, with safe space around them) My comments made on pricing, where purely on the mtb'ery, and possibly the dirt jump(As i dont fully know what llandegla's new jumps sections are going to be like when there done, and if there going to be priced the same as they are currently) side. im not quite 100% on this whole 3 course thing, are you saying the areas will be totally seperate, like as a begginer i wont be able to go onto the bigger obstacles/the bigger skatepark, and likewise the better riders will ride in a different area to us, as im not sure that will work to well. (main reason being people are good at different things, for example, id struggle to clear a 10 foot funbox, as i was a fat kid, so naturally was shit at jumping, however give me a 10-14 foot half pipe, and ill ride it fine) likewise on rollerblades, i cant drop in, but ill grind a box/rail. But again, dependant on what kind of venue your thinking trials wise: Flat tarmac/rubberized : Cars(scrap uns, windows removed, plates welded over, corners plated up, with wheels off, dropped on the ground) blocks of varying sizes/heights/cotton reels/balance beams) natural hillside : the hillside itself, perhaps with a few logs/rocks in places, tight turns, etc.
  23. He must have big hands, cos your mums built like a tank.
  24. Erm, wrexham industrial estate, theres some warehouses down there that have been dead for years, probably even more since the credit crunch has hit home, the place is surrounded by waste land(some of which are used by local mx/enduro riders when they go for a play) its miles away from housing, so no chance of complaints. Id say no to it being possible for such a large park in wrexham, but to turn one of them buildings and a rear car park into an indoor/outdoor skatepark(this would obviously be a metal or wooden skatepark outside, so it was none permanent, should it go down the sh*tter), is no different to it being done anywhere else with spare warehouses. Theres very little around, merseyside etc is fairly blessed when it comes to indoor skateparks, boneyard, rampworx etc, but theres no indoor skateparks i know of other than the boneyard any where within an hour of wrexham really. and a lot further in some directions. So its definitely got the location. Only thing is itd have to be good, as theres already free parks in wrexham, llangollen, oswestry, that i know of. but indoor/outdoor wise over 2-3 acres, i could see it being quite possible dont really see the demand for a trials park existing anywhere, but anyone whos keen could tag one onto the side of a skatepark. So I dont see no reason why this lot, and possibly some dirt jumps couldnt/wouldnt happen. with the 10 acre outdoor site, the lands there, dont really see that a park that big could exist, nor do i see the demand for a park that big, even with dirt jumps etc stuck on the side. And theres no way i feel with the pricing of the place, and its size and location constraints, that itd do much for the mtb brigade(due to llandegla having a whole forest, Xc routes, couple of mediocre dirt jump sections running alongside the xc routes, and the fact that there building what look to be rather good dirt jumps in 2 locations at the site presently. The only way I see it being that big was if there was an mx track tagged on the side of it as well(but thats just wishful thinking on my part)
  25. Im from ellesmere, I can actually think of one place, with suitably large building(maybe not 5 acres large, but certainly 2-3 acres, and a load of wasteland near by)
