great advice, I actually looked at them skis last night I think(despite them being too short) I wouldnt say Im out for purely freestyle skis, as I do want to play round on the mountain a fair bit and not just in the parks, a lot of the ski instructors/ski guides were using twin tipped stuff, yet wouldnt be doing any freestyle, obviously their reason for having twin tup skis was that they could ski backwards to help instruct people/hand hold them down slopes. are set ups like this: rossignol and phil larose just total crap, or are they perfectly suitable skis?? Ive also looked at the rossignol seven sins s4, both the s3 and the s4 skis mention either back country or all mountain use, which leaves me assuming theyd be alright for use as a general ski(bear in mind ive always been used to rental skis) bindings I dont have a clue on, again being used to rental bindings, and never really having had a problem with them, I dont see that im going to be too fussy, but from what I can see decent bindings are only like £85, so ill make do with the ones I get with the skis, or just buy decent ones if I dont get them with the skis. Is there much to know with boots? (I intend to get a proper boot fitting) or is it just a case of picking the lightest, best fitting, coolest looking boots my credit card will stretch too? only boot Ive seen with any kind of mention of anything relevant is a b12 bandit, which has a soft shell liner for big impacts and hard landings, but not sure whether thats just marketing blurb/it wont make a difference unless im jumping 30 foot onto ice. The lad I know who does freestyle is a boarder, which means I cant really pester him for advice, hes basically just there as company in the parks etc.

My first part was to do with evolution, the part of how, most of the caucasian world has had 10+ generations of industry, science, commerce, etc where intelligence is valued higher than athletic ability, whereas in many parts of africe, the hunting and fighting ability still plays a major part in the success of a man, and his position within a tribe. meaning there more likely to reproduce, due to being more attractive to the opposite sex,as well as being healthier, and living longer, due to a better standard of life, giving you more time in which to reproduce. As for it intelligence not being stored in your genes and the fact that its only influencing peoples potential and not their genes, thats not referring to evolution. Its more referring to a persons intelligence based on their parents intelligence. Which im fairly sure(in fact im bloody well sure) there is a link between, whether thats passed on as you say its not, or whether thats through your parents attitude to you as a child, or your aspirations to be like your parents, Im unsure, but it is passed down in somway. for example, its been said by maths teachers, form teachers, mates parents etc, that ive took the mathematical side from my mother(whos really into her maths) and I did rather well at maths etc, My dad was an engineer, I have a huge interest in engineeering, he was also a bit of a dodgy character, and im prety much scum, all those things are traits my parents have/had, which I now possess, whether that is through genes, them drilling it into me as a kid, or just my aspiration to be like them, who knows. Another one Ill use is how glen always moans about his mum throwing fits and chucking stuff out/being irrational. He seems to be very similar in that respect, with his irrationalness(dont even think its a word)to confrontation, his ability to throw hissy fits etc. but on a more general scale, doctors children are often very intelligent(no studies, just personal experience living in a small town knowing a few doctors, and their kids, every single one was in the top sets at our school). Was something in the paper the other day about a 2 year old who was supposedly as intelligent as einstein, both his parents where extremely intelligent. So if your grandparents in africa didnt get any education, they clearly cant pass this ability to learn/intelligence on genetically(although they couldnt anyway supposedly), neither can they teach you basic maths, or history, or how to write at a young age, if they cant themselves, and if the other possibility that you aspire to be like them, well if they're uneducated, then there you go. As for you saying the poorer background only effects the potential they can fulfil and not cognitive capacity, Being poorer means you may not be able to have study materials, access to the internet, may have to work to afford to live etc, which effects the education you recieve( I ended up working rather than studying engineering at university, for financial reasons) If id of got a degree, sure my IQ may of not been raised(although studying, keeping the mind active etc would of surely been better than killing brain cells with beer) but Id of known more, and come across as more intelligent to people, partly because Id be able to say ive got a degree, which is enough for some people, and partly because I could explain thermodynamics, gas pressure laws etc.

Linking back to your previous topic, if evolution exists,is it not rather likely that at the present time, over the general population of either america, or the world, and to a certain extent britain, that black people will, to a certain extent be slightly less intelligent than whites, obviously there are exceptions to this, but on average. thats not meant as a derogatory comment in anyway. But a rough very flawed take on it is, due to evolution and selective breeding, those with the best chance of survival will be viewed as most attractive to the opposite sex. for a couple of hundred years in britain, industry has existed, where an intelligent person can get further in life than a less intelligent person. britain was and still is a predominately white country, At this point the more intelligent people(doctors, factory owners, scientists etc) where viewed as more attractive, partly as they where more intelligent, and partly because the money they had made them an attractive prospect, both for the women to live a life of luxury, and to give a better standard of life for any kids they would have, the families who where undecated, ended up often with menial jobs/no jobs, little money, and as a result, wernt viewed as suitable partners by the opposite sex(as their not as intelligent, or couldnt provide for their kids) Surely due to this, over the course of several generations, this has bred a more academically intelligent predominately white race. Whereas in africa, up until recently(and still today in some parts) the more attractive prospect for marriage, isnt the smartest person, its the strongest, fastest, the best hunter, who can defend his family the best, meaning that they would get the choice of the wives, and pick the healthier, better looking ones, with the best chance of reproduction, meaning over several generations, a more athletically gifted race will be born as opposed to academically gifted. Couple this with the fact that intelligence is passed down from your parents to a certain extent, and the fact in many countries blacks didnt recieve any, or wernt allowed to recieve any education up until a relatively short space of time, intelligence has been passed down fewer generations. Also, the back population has been used as a workforce, and kept down for many years in relatively recent history(slave trade, apartheid etc) theyve come from a poorer background, which has some influence on intelligence. But this isnt really down to the skin colour, its down to the history of the race, as in if you got 100 black participants, and 100 white participants, all with an IQ of 100, and made them relive the last 200 years, with the roles reversed, I think that the white people would in that case come out less intelligent.

Yea see I want something I can land fakie with ideally(not least because I can already land fakie doing 180's on the flat/off small hips at slow speed, and spin out from fakie to regular), will look into them though (still mega unsure on it, as I kinda feel snowboarding could be more fun if i got into it properly, and its something I've always wanted to try) but then with skiing, im kinda part way there.
-
Right, my situation is this, I enjoy skiing, ive only done 3 weeks of it, but its gettin to the point where i feel ive got nowhere left to go really, went italy earlier in the year, and was hittin 65+% black runs. the only direction I can see to take is freestyle,(not to mention its something Id enjoy, and it looks cool as f*ck) but im not really too sure where to get started, and the internets only really giving me useless advice. Seen "learn to freestyle in a day" courses at indoor snowdomes for like £170(which im more than willing to pay) but if anyones been on these courses can they tell me if you learn anything/progress, they advertise being able to teach you to ride rails/boxes and hit kickers by the end of the day. But without any pictures, or testimony from the days im semi dubious, as if were talking sliding down a 2 foot wide grindbox, with a snow run up ramp(i.e no jumping on, you slide on) I dont really see that as learning much(As im sure given a box like that, Id be able to pick that up in a matter of minutes) and if the kickers simply falling off a 12 inch drop. It'd be cool if they could kinda show me techniques for how to hit a narrowish box/jump on stuff/land fakie(since I can already land from a couple of foot normal, but never really being able to try doing it fakie due to having skis that are only tipped at the front) Also any advice on equipment(Since im debatin getting my own gear, as ill be spending £200+ on rental gear for this season) If I buy freestyle skis, will they be pretty much useless for anything else, likewise with boots? and on the flip side, Would I get by using regular skis+ boots (although thats pretty much out the question, since I really want to develop fakie, whether I bother doing freestyle or not) My other option of course, is to take up snowboarding, which may be the better option, and will I get by with a regular board, with ratchet bindins and just a cool looking pair of boots for freestyle.(not that I see myself doing much in 2/3 days at a snowdome, then a week on the slopes, but hopefully the trip will be the first of 3 that season) Mainly asking, as I may be holidaying with a mate and his family this year, his brother is semi into his freestyle snowboarding(as in he hits the parks etc as well as going on the mountain) so im gunna have somebody to go ride some jumps/boxes with. and his parents arent that brilliant at skiing, meaning after a couple of days at a snowdome etc, ill be able to keep pace with them on the mountain, meaning im not going to be boarding alone(as would be the case if I learnt on a holiday with just mates). And on a related note, whos skiing where this year, when and why? anyone thinking of doing the big snow festival in andorra, or snowbombing in austria (personally wanting to do both)

Glen, This needs nipping in the bud, its going to end up ruining her life... anyway enough about her relationship with you, drugs dont change the person she is, shes still silvia, she still for some mad reason(possibly the drugs) appears to be attracted to you, shed tried pills before she met you, shell try them again, thats life. You drink, spend too much on bikes, enjoy the odd bit of weed, We've all got our vices, apart from being dirty, unknown drugs, pills are far from the worst drugs for her to be taking. just let it go. -
in that case skoze listen to ma latest little blurt about a sister of joes who looks fine ass in a skirt but likes to talk in prose rather than beat box and blurt.

Nah, Ive realised one genius in a sea of idiots cant make a difference. although if you enjoy my rants, ill try and rant some more.

1) you clearly didnt watch question time 2) have very little knowledge of history and 3) I havent checked your profile, but im willing to place a few quid on the fact that your under 16. Incase you didnt realise why the 2nd world war happened, Id suggest you read up on it. Their lives weren't lost fighting to stop people coming into our countries, their lives were given, in defending other humans rights, to live freely, without persecution based on race, appearance or sexual preference. theres a fair chance that if you go a couple of generations back from your grandparents, they may of well of fought to take over countries such as india. Im not pro immigration, I have somewhat jaded views on it, being that if you want to live in this country and be a part of it, you should be willing to fight for it. upon coming to britain claiming asylum, an able bodied man, should not be turned away, or forced to work for £1.20 an hour washin cars off the governments radar, they should be given a job, accomadation, clothing, and food. But tha job, should be national service esque, I.e their signed up to the british army. put through basic trainin, and signed in for 3 years. The way I see it is, 1)pre recession the army was short of soldiers, that problem would be partially solved, 2) you wouldnt have them begging, and they wouldnt be seen to be taking jobs in our country, as they wouldnt be, theyd be providing a service to our country. 3) it gives them better pay and living conditions than what many of them get at the moment, as well as giving them a strong taste of british life and perhaps even a sense of national pride, even though it isnt their home country. 4) if there not happy with the situations in their home countries, and they want to make a difference, for their families etc, they should be able to empathize on what there going to be doing in the countries they're deployed to.

Aye, just google/ebay KVM switch. -
do you not understand the concept of a search engine, and the constraints on it. it wont find anything, because it cant search for under 3 characters, so its not going to find 1 result on it. because it cant search for it.

nah, its espn only in the uk, fairly sure of it.

i press one button on my phone, and my hotmail inbox loads up,wich gets an email when i get a pm, im sure i could set it up so i can access my pm's with one button, just doesnt seem worth it. if your phone doesnt support using the internet on it, I dont see how having text message alerts to pm's will help really.(as even if you carry the bits with you to work, to post out if someone buys them) without internet access youd have to wait till you got to a computer to check that theyd payed anyway.

i predict that ill fall asleep before the end, as always happens.

after someone suggested on it here, last year me and 2 mates went as oxo cubes, which everyone seemed to find rather amusing, apart from one idiot that looked at us like wed just killed his mother, although we did get a fair few people shouting "bisto" for some odd reason. snorting lines of oxo cube in the bog was an odd experience too.

quick note, just got the bugatti on forza 3, time to have some fun.
-
Ive had it for the past week or so, what do you mean by the modding, its still there and much the same as forza 2 if you want it, or you can just use quick upgrade which automatically upgrades your car to a certain class. its a real good game, but if your not that arsed if wait a week or so, theres loadsa people out there buyin forza 3 who never experienced forza 2 on the 360, and will be trading it in, when they realise its not ridge racer(despite the fact it does feel a bit more arcadey than forza 2)

its a proper rpg, im still really wanting to have a rattle on borderlands.

Meh, Im unsure. Id say theres little in the cameras to be honest with you. but again, it comes down to what you use it for, and how much time you spend using it.or interacting with it whilst your using it for that matter. Internet- I dont really use the internet on my phone, only thing it gets used for is checking emails, which is supposedly better on iphone, but i dont reply to them, its literally a case of I have hotmail as a shortcut on my home screen, I press the button, it loads up my inbox, I can see the last 15 or so messages, if any of them are important, I click on them, read them, job done. Its purely down to not really being sat around with my phone with nothing to do that much. Video- I cant count on one hand the amount of times ive used youtube on my phone, the answers 0. see above, about my comment about not having time to play around with my phone that much, if im travelling im, generally driving, as opposed to sitting on the bus, if im at work, im generally busy, as opposed to sat waiting for a customer to come in. I dont have a gf, so its not like im sat outside her work for 40 minutes waiting for her to finish. If im in the pub, im there to get drunk, not update my facebook status. I can see how it would be great if I had a lot of time spare where I was out the house, and alone. but the truth is, I dont. Photo gallery, again I dont use the camera on my phone really, other than for taking pictures of work stuff, so I dont spend hours flicking through the gallery showing people stuff. Interface/touchscreen, is a meh issue, I've never found with my 5800 that the touchscreen isnt responsive enough, and having had nokias for about 4 years, the menus/navigating are kinda second nature. Messaging, I downloaded an app for my phone that showed everything in threads, meh, I found it useless and am now back to using regular messaging, because it what im used to, and i dont find the new way innovative or better, maybe its because I recieve no more than 5/10 texts a day, unless im trying to dose a bird, so things dont look like a huge mess in my inbox. games, much like videos, I dont play them on my phone, Ive tried them on my phone when I first got it. Once again I just dont have the time to spend interacting with my phone other than when im at home, where I have a games console/pc. apps, as I said before, the only apps that get used on my phone really are joikuspot(wireless adhoc network program).sat nav, and a weather application occasinally, the weather app is more a nice perk, I havent used it in over a month, it just saves 30 seconds checking the weather on the pc if im at work deciding whether to ride or not at the weekend. but at the time of purchase, the iphone had equivalents for neither joikuspot or g mobile xt. the music thing, for me makes little difference, if im using my phone for music, its because my mp3 player is flat, I plug the headphones into the nokia remote, press the music button on my 5800, select either an album, or play all. chuck it in my camelbak and go riding, if i dont like a song, i may reach down to the remote and press skip, but generally i just let it play(as thats what id have to do if i was using my mp3 player) so its no more hassle than using an ipod/mp3 player, granted, it would annoy the hell out of me, if i was sat on a bus selecting songs, but im not. so it doesnt. Its not that im anti Iphone, If they had the ability to run an ad hoc wireless network, Id probably have had one over my phone, and I do intend to get one at some point(partly because I want to try one for a month or 2, to see if everyone raving about them is actually right), They probably are the better all round personal entertainment device/phone. but as someone who has an mp3 player purely for the fact it makes sounds, its turned on, its thrown in a bag, thats it. who doesnt use his phone to write emails(in fact i dont really write emails, full stop), an iphone has little advantage over a 5800. Ill give you the fact that there nice to use, and sleek etc, but in pressing the contacts tab, typing F, selecting fish, pressing the green button and starting to talk dirty. The iphones interfact doesnt really get me any harder, to the point where Id want to get one over the wireless connectivity of my 5800. which by the way, runs G mobile XT, with no jail breaking, for free(albeit with the price of going to hell for software piracy)
-
its not that my phone is the same as an iphone, its that for ME its better. 1 major thing i abuse the hell out of myphone is turning it into an adhoc wireless router, to get on the net when in wales, or when i was in college in bristol. Iphone didnt support that, and it still doesnt for any other way than via cable/ or on the 3gs with bluetooth(and my laptop doesnt have bluetooth) the second thing is using it as a sat nav, tomtom has just brought out a sat nav for the iphone, but ive been running garmin mobile xt on my phone for 5 months or so now. Im not sure how tom tom works but i know google maps on iphone, loads every map individually, meaning when we went to the south of france, it would of cost literally £100's of pounds in loading maps, whereas it cost me about £1.30 to use the assisted gps function on the whole trip(and a couple of them kb's may of been actually checking other stuff on the way down)I just selected exactly what maps to load on my phone beforehand (basically put all of western europe on there)and loaded them too it(i could of downloaded new ones on the go i i needed too). I simply have no need for a tip calculator in my life, as generally I just tip to the nearest £5/10 interval, if its a big bill (if the total bills £73/74 they get £80) or if the bills split down to say £15 a head, ill just tip £2) its basic maths. i can work out 10% of a bill fairly easily, and I can divide £85 into 4/6 so its within 50p or so easily as hell in less time that it takes to get your phone out your pocket). Im not a fan of music etc on the go, really, so I dont particularly like the Ipod touch aspect of it, or at least not to the point I'd buy a phone for it over buying a still functional music player like on the 5800,the couple of times I have used it when I've flattened the battery on my mp3 player for using on my xc bike on a weekend away its worked fine. I like the fact I can use my web browser to find a rapidshare link, my phone is pre signed into rapidshare, so i follow the link, and the file downloads to my phone, I can then unzip it, and play the album, for free. I use the camera on my 5800 a reasonable amount, not for snapshots, but more for knowing what stuff looks like at work, (when disconnecting wires, or quoting serial numbers off stuff, its easier to photo it, then draw/write it down) I didnt buy the phone thinking of it, but its come in handy, if it hadnt of had a flash, it wouldnt of got used at all. Its not that I slag them off, its just for me, there was no need to spend the extra money on one over a nokia, which does the things I need of it, better. and it annoys me how people think of them as a major technical revolution, like the george foreman of phones, when in reality, the innovations in the iphone are more like adding the fact that you can get cold water out of your fridge, which you still need to fill up from your tap, which also produces cold water, and is 3 metres away. One thing me and a few mates have found with Iphones is, people who do manual labourery/tradesman style jobs, dont really find the iphone as that brilliant an invention, however uni students/kids/people who spend a lot of time on public transport/people who tend to have a lot of time on their hands in their jobs tend to like them a lot more, purely because they value their ability as an entertainment device, much more than they do the ability of a phone to act as a phone with a couple of neat things tacked on the side of them. (Which correct me if im wrong, is something which has been proved here by the people who say Iphone, out of the people who I know what they do, Tomm - medical student: likes it cos it does music/games etc, Hendrix - music student:same as tomm, Nick Harding: works nights managing a hotel desk I think, which probably means hes got loadsa time to play around on his phone at 5am. and the people that dont think of it as that brilliant, me, and anzo, im a grease monkey, anzos a computer hacker)

Thanks Guys(and hannah, and glen), ive realised, 22 isnt the age to grow up, that shit can wait till im 23. on with being immature for another 365 days.

Also Forza 3 - slightly happier now ive realised theres the standard events view list, as well as the calendar(which only gives you 3 events to choose from etc, doesnt let you choose which order you do races/tracks in),So ill be doing that once ive played out season 5. However slightly miffed, theres no home region selection at the start, but everything seems to be extremely euro orientated, im currently level 11. and haven't won a single jap car yet. And its not the events im running, as you now get cars for levelling up, not winning events. Also, the gamerscore achievements, given the scale of the game seem a bit limited. I havent tried playing for the gamerscore at all, and ive got 24 out of 50 rewards (and 4 or 5 of the outstanding ones relate to storefront/auction things) you get 1 achievement for every one of the first 10 levels, which seems a bit excessive, yet you dont get one for completing every race in a category, or reaching 1,000,000 credits or anything like that. handling feels a bit more arcadey than the first 2 forza's though, and the rewind feature isnt as well implemented as GRID/Dirt 2, but otherwise im liking it a lot.

Yea I have to admit,I installed jungle flasher, with no firmware. Then realised I needed to stick the Ixtreme firmware in that file. looking at all the firmware unzipped was like "crap theres 30 things there, this could, and most likely will go wrong" but read the tutorial, and it was like, okIi just have to click 1 icon, select a save location for the original firmware, and click ok, seems rather simple(even though Id gone at it like a bull in a china shop and already dumped the firmware to my pc,despite the system doin it automatically) But theres no way Im going to be offering to do it for mates etc when they inevitably want it doing, for the price you charge, it just aint worth it. Borderlands - anyone getting it? Cant find reviews on it anywhere, it looks like it could be awesome,or just dire.its a RPG FPS, so fallout 3 style, supposedly made by the people who made the brothers in arms series (which was quite good, although now the releases are just another FPS) and had something to do with a half life game(I skim read the preview, ill be honest). aparently 600,000 weapon combinations, and comes with some of the features i expected fallout 3 to have but didnt(like the repair old weapons and build new ones, with the inclusion of robots etc,I was expecting to be able to fit sniper rifle scopes to a plasma rifle, or get scrap metal, robot tracks. a vacuum cleaner, and an assault rifle, to make a bot that shoots at enemies or whatever) but in this you can combine weapons etc, proper RPG style.
