its 533mhz, im tempted to get (read if i buy ram, this is what im going to get) 2 x 2gb of ddr2 800 or 1066mhz(since its like £45-£50). but... ive got conflicting views from 2 people, and the internet. one mate is saying he thinks the ram is the weak spot, and would get like 4gb+ of 1066 or 1333mhz, but that my processor may be bottlenecking it(but that also means changing my mobo and processor, at which point i may as well go the whole hog and get i7 kit) my other mate(and i kinda agree with him, on the grounds my mates laptop runs it fine) reckons my system should be totally fine(since ive got 2gb running in dual channel, but having 4 or possibly 8gb, would help massively with loading times) the internet is saying theres a conflict with my graphics card and the game(but then people are saying its resolved), other people are saying its very cpu intensive and needs an i5/i7 to run smoothly (yet recommended settings are any quad core processor) and also i found someone saying the game runs smooth on his system(with identical processor and graphics card, and 2 x 2gb sticks of ddr2 at 800mhz) on high settings. to give you an idea of how crap mine runs, setting it to 1280 x 720, all settings to low, I get low 20fps, dropping to like 15fps when buildings blow up, and 10-15fps in killcam, just tried parachuting in on a level, and parachuting makes it judder to like 3-4fps. all drivers are upto date graphics card wise. only other question, would it run badly as im still using a vga monitor(just wondering if not using dvi/hdmi means the graphics card cant fire up fully or something daft)

Right, got a graphics card for my pc after i leant my old one out in like june, got a gtx460, so ive now got an amd phenom quad core 9500 processor, a gtx 460, an alive nfi 5 sli 1394 motherboard, and 3gb or ram (3 x 1gb) sticks, yet i just tried playing battlefield bad company 2, and it plays like crap unless i turn the resolution and graphic settings right down. the obvious weak chain in the link seems to be ram, but 2 questions. 1) would the ram course it to play crap like this 2) what kinda spec/size/price ram should i be looking to whack in there(do i just buy another 1gb stick, so ive got it running in pairs(always thought ram should be run in pairs, would i see an improvement just pulling one of the sticks out so i got 2 x 1gb?) would it make sense to just 2 x 2gb sticks, and then either run just them, or them + 2 x 1gb sticks. or would i be better off looking a 2 x 4gb? (or 4 x 2gb)

i used to get them all the time, the first time it was odd, but once i knew what it was, it got to the point where i enjoyed them,(mine where almost constantly accompanied by hallucinations) occasionally id have partial control of my body etc as well. dont sweat it, i know im the only person whos ever seen the secret escape hatch in my room.

to most people saying theyve got 2 foot and stuff(not so much to the guy with the pic of the road, thats clearly a drift and may well be that high), is everyone else using the TGS tape measure to measure snowfall? hannah that looks like 3-4 inches,i may be wrong like. are people aware that 2 foot of snow means you could stand a mod up in it straight and not see the wheels?

Computer Nerds Look In - Hdd Issue
Fish-Finger-er replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Chit Chat
alternatively something like this caddy. costs a little bit more, but means you can use it as a usb hard drive once you got the stuff off it. you can use a cheap cable like this: adapter but youll need a running desktop to provide power to the drive(which if you had, you could just plug the drive straight into as a second drive and rip the stuff of it) -
are the xbox 360 fanatec wheels not the dogs bollox theyre made out to be??

You work at thekla perchance?

only issue with a technical forum is, id never look into it, as im not very technical yet, say a question about a htc desire, or a breville, id know the answer to, so id rather have seperate threads in chit chat, more chance of coming across something i could help with that way

ive got a compaq mini 311c 11.6" netbook and it does 1080p fine, or does 720p and web browsing fine.
-
I may be being hugely daft here, but would a netbook not do the trick, with some added bonus of being a portable pc if needed. ive currently got a compaq/hp mini 311c,cost me £290 about a year ago, dont know what there worth now, granted i spent a few quid upgrading it (£30 on ram, £40 on a hdd) an ive stuck vista on it but i quite often use it with a wireless keyboard/trackpad set up on it, plugged into my lcd tv via hdmi , it plays movies in 1080p fine, is obviously uber low power and can handle youtube/vimeo/iplayer. pretty sure you could get a remote for it(whether running windows mce and one of the remotes for it would fit the bill). quite often play files off my desktop pc through it onto the tv. Could quite happily(and this has kinda been my plan for mine since my need for a netbook is pretty low now) have it plugged in out the way with a long hdmi cable running to the tv, a cheap external hdd plugged into it, with tversity or whatever running on it. can use it to watch files/youtube/iplayed on your tv, can put files onto the drive off other pcs in your house. and can also watch all that stuff on the other tvs in my house via my 360.

I know most people buy it for online, but a game should be able to stand up on the singleplayer story alone, which is where modern warfare did, mw2 an black ops sadly do not ( I like the black ops story, just not a fan of how you can get through it super quick(an I'm crap at cod)
-
I wouldn't get to excited, career mode was over an done with in 4 hours, which was stupidly short even by cod standards. Ain't really hit multiplayer too much.

funnily enough, you came up in conversation at work the other day, (talking about a bloke who works with me hurting himself on his enduro bike regarding sick pay, and your issues came up), at that point i did think "what the f*ck happened to bongo (so did a search for you on the directory) its kinda mental to think how far trials and the trials community has gone, and it annoys me a little bit that i got sidetracked by drink, girls and money at the age of 15/16 and never put anymore into it. at the same time though, i think as the sport has evolved and the quality and diversity of riding has increased, the trials community has declined, maybe its just me being a bit cynical, but a lot of the arguments and the like that are seen now, nothing ever seemed to happen like that in like 02-05, it was happy days, if someone scammed someone, the whole community seemed to be against them, now when someone scams someone, in the uk, in a lot of cases, some people side with the scammer( I liked the way how in romania(i think) when someone scammed a few people on tf, the riders over there, pretty much disowned him). maybe its as ive grown up, the magic of trials has worn off, but it feels to me, as if the kids starting out in trials today arent having the same experience we had when we started out and that saddens me a bit. sure the availabilty fo parts etc is better, but some of my fondest memories where taking apart bikes on a friday evening, bolting 2 32t rings together, grinding the spikes off, and then refitting the crank with a bit of a coke can, just so i could ride saturday morning. You wanted to ride so bad, nothing else mattered. but all in trials was, and largely still is brilliant. partt of me wishes i could go back and do it all again, but then me knees, ankles and lower back disagree with that statement.

Right, got a question for you, in my local tesco, they sell ps3's will these be the same price as the prices on tesco direct(just im sure ive seen better prices in store than im currently seeing online). Likewise asda direct, will this be the same price as in store(i realise if i use the direct ordering point in store it will be, but i mean more picking up a box from the electronics section) And once more, with game, and gamestation, are pricings the same. If they arent, do instore offer price match or anything of the sort. thanks for any help (just trying to get a ps3 on the cheap)

depends what kinda risk, for what kinda reward your after. for example you could take a fairly safe constant share, and just sit there skimming the dividends off the top, till you got bored, or you could take something more volatile and risk losing more, but making more. Its also about how long you want to invest for, and how much involvement you want, if your someone whos happy to kill 5 or 6 hours a week reading and researching, and making a couple of trades a month, or if your someone who wants to buy now, forget about, and then sell in 6 months. Does your company (are you not working for activision blizzard?) have a stock/share program, if so, take a look at that. I know with my current employer, we get sharesave plans where we agree to buy shares with a monthly contribution on a 3 or a 5 year term, with the price fixed at the start of term, at 10% below market value for 3 year, or 20% below markets value for 5 year. Ive currently got 3 of these plans running, one buying shares at 68p, one buying shares at 61p, and another buying shares at 116p, and company shares are now at around 140p. If we cancel at any time we get the money we put in back, and if if at the end of the plan the shares are worth less than we payed we get the choice of taking the shares, or getting our money returned. Other think they allow us to do is to buy £125 per month of shares direct out of our pay, pre tax and national insurance, so its effectively 30% below market value, if we sell within the 5 years we have to pay tax and national insurance on them, if we keep it longer than that, there just ours to sell. and in that 5 years we earn dividends on them. I know loadsa other companies do similar schemes, so its got to be worth looking into.

mike, im running the htc desire, and have been very impressed with it, think it was running me £25 a month from orange with like 300 minutes, unlimited orange to orange minutes, unlimited* internet and unlimited texts. Ive recently upped it to 600 minutes for an extra £5. my mum however has this week just got a samsung tocco light, on orange with 300 minutes, unlimited text and internet, for £1.04 per month. (well its £25 a month with 23 months cashback) if you could get that, keep it for like 2 months whilst saving a bit of cash each month, then say late october, once the new htc phones have come out, youll be able to bag a desire for like £220ish brand new at a guess, or a wildfire for around £180.

I work for bt maintaining their cars, vans, truck and plant(which is about the only interesting bit) I hate and love it in equal amounts, I hate the fact thats its repetitive, quite dirty, I also hate the job security, and the way its kind of a job for life( as ive got pension plans, employee share plans and the like) which sounds mad, but i keep saying i want to go do a ski season, then a season in a clubbing resort, but i feel like im throwing too much away to leave. on the other side i love the flexibility of having a 4 day week, then being able to turn in on my day off, earn a wad of extra cash, an then still have the weekend to myself, then other weeks being able to just have my day off in the week to chill.
-
+1 watched it the weekend just gone, it is just a lil bit BOSS. dukes of hazzard and starsky and hutch take note, thats how you do a blockbuster remake of a tv series.

Should stop giving hendrix hand shandys then,or at least wear gloves. I remember deep throatin him was like swallowing a corn on the cob whole.

digging yourself into a deeper hole. Personally i havent seen this whole you bullying a 12 year old thing, so will not comment on it. However, you appear to of pissed off a fair few people lately. I currently think your a complete tit, and will continue to think of you as a complete tit till the end of time, because of your sh*tty attitude in this topic airgun topic so if your like that in other topics, I can see why plenty of people will think your a total willy.

I always wondered why youd started, now it all becomes clear. why have i got a feeling you had to make your own tea that night. My personal opinion on it is: if you cant teach them to parallel park, your pissing in the wind trying to get them to sidehop up a wall.
