Inspired Fourplay Vs. Onza Zoot
CC12345678910 replied to Inspired-1990's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
The zoot and zoot PRO are alot lighter than the 4play though (which will make everything easier), and this full build http://www.rocknrollbikes.com/special-offers/onza-zoot-pro-24-wheel-complete-cycle.html#Brakes=Onza Elite Hydraulic Disc is the only sub 10kg pre-built 24in I know of. AND you can buy it with hope discs as well for a bit extra cash. I reckon you should at least give this some cosideration. -
Cuerden Valley Trials Event 21St May
CC12345678910 replied to Krafty_pk's topic in Member Organised Rides
Yeah I'm gonna come along again Are you getting scrap cars again? If so would it possible to re-enforce the roofs somehow so they don't sink in the middle again. Mabye a wooden platform ratchet strapped to the roof to give a grippy, more stable surface?? EDIT: Deffo cut the grass as well mate, short as possible -
My first upload of a decade - cool thought eh? Enjoy.

Better camera this time but i'm still average.
-
My first Vid. The camera quality isn't that good but neither am I, hence the title.

You point is informative but them conti's (RQ, DK and RK) won't fit in my frame or at least i would struggle without a stanley knife (I think). I am wanting a hi-roller because it is what I can afford, with £35ish to spend. Would it be okay with a DH maxxis and mabye a sleeve? I don't want to compromise my riding style much either. EDIT: I was also using the RQ and MK as a reference point and am not really considering them, though I could be swayed.

Will A Magura Rim Brake Fit V Brake Mounts
CC12345678910 replied to BradJohnson's topic in Trials Chat
Or inspired phats. Mine are epic on the front with a touch of tar so should be more than enough for this guy on the rear. (and he wouldn't have to re-grind) Could it also be the rim at fault here? The rims on starter bikes (his sig says he has a phase 1.3) don't hold a grind for long because they are soft and not designed to be ground.(thats my experience anyways) -
Right I need a new back tyre and could do with a bit of lard cutting as well, so I could play it safe and buy a Dual-ply hi-roller which saves a touch over my DP minion, or I could save a pile of weight by putting a SP version on. I have seen the paper queen and mountain king used as a back tyre before as thought they were pretty crap puncture wise so will it be the same story with the hi roller? Also does anyone know if the 2.5 version fits in a t-rex? http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/images/custom/tyres/large_roller25size.jpg ^ suggests it might not... (if it don't I'll bang on a 2.35 instead)

I don't know mate. I went to that ride in cuerden ride last year and the heat was epic... Little Yoshi might remember that one. and I think the camping will cost me £15 EDIT: don't I just ring up booking for woodfest??? Do they really need know i'm going for tartydays? Oh and the link u put up says camping shuts on sunday. Do you think I could squeeze another night and leave quietly before monday lunch time? (I realise that's taking the piss a little but it's crucial otherwise I can't come)

Arghhh Chain Tension / Brake Allignment Help!
CC12345678910 replied to i like cunning stunts's topic in Trials Chat
then surely slightly crappy gearing is better than death or basically not riding cos ur confidence is in the toliet. Or is it just me? -
What 'mods' have you done? Oh, and start selling them carbon wedges!!
-
Can someone tell me when camping would open and shut please (Friday night and monday lunchtime respectivly would be the only way I could make it) Adam are you sure that station is right? The train time website says 'station not found'
-
It's been mentioned before earlier in this thread but I like that someone else has had the same idea. A D3O chainstay protector that protects the chainstay from impacts Think how much the quality of the second hand frame market would go up if it became an essential like fat tyres and decent brakes... Just a thought.

aye but that different stem will make the bike lower and longer. I went the opposite way (from that echo stem to a trialtech 120 by 17) on my simple and the difference for me was profound.

Is this place trainable???? (As in I hop On a train to the nearest station and ride up to the site?) I seem to remember from a look on google maps last year it's not...
-
Think I might come. I will see if anyone from barrow feels like it (we went last saturday as well) EDIT: Are you bringing along a good few or is it just a quiet one?

Morecambe Saturday 22 January

Yeah i'm deffo comin tom. Connor seems well happy with your bike mate, how have you found the GU? If I'm not there at eleven, It's cos I'll be chillin + having a coffee at rita's cafe (the one on the prom) come find me. BTW I think matt might have work but we'll soon see eh? EDIT: just a thought, How many locals are comin for a ride? -
And what happens when the grind goes dead? IMO you're just opening up a never ending stream of problems; Grind goes dead - re-grind - rim flat spots because you've ground a rim that ain't suppost to be ground - brake goes crap because of all the flats - Change rim to rid the flats (incuring a cost) - Get wheel built by LBS which incurrs another cost (I'm assuming he can't build wheels by himself or doesn't know some-one who can) - re-grind - repeat cycle. The TNN's will work fine regardless smooth or ground. I was under the impression that on a v-brake it is all about the lever/cable/arms combo anyway.
-
Approx. how far though? For something this good some sacrifices could be made. EDIT: Talking of sacrifices, I just checked the trains; a 5 and a half hour train journey, 3 trains, a trip on the london underground, and that walk/ride to get to the site, all with camping gear and it'll cost me 98 quid to boot. Not lookin quite so feaseable now.

could we have the details off facebook on here please??? (Gay computers at college won't let me on FB) Interested in coming but seeing as a lift is not going to be an option for me, is there a train station within riding distance (3-5 miles would be my limit)
-
Nice idea tom. Did you say there was 25 out at the weekend? Gutted I missed that.. Gonna have to get over there with the barrow lot sum time soon.
