Marino Bike 2013 Team Rider Found & frame order discussion thread
CC12345678910 replied to LEON's topic in Trials Chat
This seems well deserved. there was not a line in that second video where i found myself saying 'Eh?? Even I could do that' as I find myself doing far too much when I watch sponsored videos. spot on. Your the guy who snapped some inspired forks and put them through your hand aren't you? Sound like your gonna be a good product tester... -
some other time perhaps... like I said ^^ I can't do out for a while either. Link me that vid if you can remember. thanks
-
oh ok. whats up there to ride though. I know there is a skate park but I know nothing else.
-
I know this is a bit late now but I've never considered penrith before. owt good? I'm only barrow so trains shouldn't too hard. could be up for a ride after new year as my moneys spent up at the minute. I don't even mind if most stuff is small as I'll come play about on the 24.

hopefully not the fourplay, i like it too much.... no,no, this ones gonna keep going till its considered 'old skool' like orange ms isles and zeros and pashleys, honest. ha I wouldn't worry about your zoot either, I took mine back to TB in person and adam said it was the first one back in bits. he he i won something! A BIG RECIEPT!!

I used the 110mm x 35 system ex on the 10mm stack and pre-cut standard forks, the change on the rise was enough to tip the balance yet not really shorten the reach. Left it standard apart from beefed back brake (home brew steel booster and inspired fats), aforementioned stem ^, some MAD phase bars (TT standard rise copies) and some TT thick foams and BB. Would have played further but this happened.due to a piece of faulty billet at around 3 to 3.5 months. still a brilliant bike though, still got most of bits to build another one. need a green decal frame and pro2 set-up. The warranty credit at TB meant I could afford a 2011 fourplay frame mind. Had it a year now and only just got it to a standard where I'd say i'm 'finished', it's liitte niggles not great mountains anymore.

so in relation to my earlier post, bearings in HS cups or direct on frame. EDIT: Frame only to come?? Price and mounts on said frame (stock) EDIT2: OT: What is the feedback, customer or team, like at 54sport concerning the impulse freewheel. Good, bad, ugly? It looks a lot like the try-all/trialtech freewheel, correct me if i'm mispoken.

Bike Trials, How Has It Changed Your Life
CC12345678910 replied to trialskidy's topic in Trials Chat
good look with that, it's usually bike OR gf, not both. seen it happen tooo many times. This usually compounds when motorbikes become involved in this equation. -
this might do it I'd be proud of these lines now. ha.

I really agree, nice and clean (It's nice to see a frame with no headtube cutout too. yay impulse!) I was just about to ask about price too. Bottom piccy suggests i doesn't, but surely that's no problem, bolt on boosters work better anyway IMO. Also is that an internal, as in cup in frame, bearing in cup headset or a intergrated, as in bearing on frame, no cups. Clarify please someone. thank you.

you answer one question and raise another. Could you give a grip comparison to a moto rt, moto digger or holyroller? these are tyres i've used before so I know what to expect.

we talking front/rear, grind/no grind, state of grind, what? Set right, with just a little spring tension, Vee will be lighter to pull, and you will enjoy the benefit of not having to have your pads a fag papers distance away from a laser straight wheel (though this last one is benefical regardless) to get a sorted brake, plus with Speed dial you get just the 'right' feel for you. Here's what I did if your seriously considering a mag for vee switch. Find a set of arms, anything wil do the job, this ain't the important bit in my expirience; so long as the springs are good you'll have no problem, buy pads, (inspired fats, smooth rim, slight dab of tar would be my choice) the sd7 lever, and a well greased wilko cable with metal ends. You will probs also need adapters. As I see it: Neon - pretty and light but lack ajustabillity, not that that has ever been a problem on my front brake Onza - more ajustabillity, same weight but a weaker design, have snapped one side before by clipping the cable bolt on the back brake when doing a fakie (was the final straw knida thing though, they are still really good) Heatsink - The benefits of both with more ajustment tha onza (4th hole is handy), almost definately the strongest set, mine have been around a fair few peeps, must be 5 mabye 6 yrs old, still look really good but yet to use them. That should give you a setup worth keeping on your bike. Sorry for the essay and i know I went a bit off topic but the only way your are gonna know is by trying it, pick your parts, time your time setting them up and have a go of it. Enjoy.

Supplements And Performance Enhancing Drugs In Trials
CC12345678910 replied to JoNnY__Mc's topic in Trials Chat
couldn't agree more with that last bit . I used recovery after mototrials and i'm a beliver. it meant that could get up for school on the monday after a long saturday of prepping the bikes (mine and dad's), usually with 2-3am finishes, getting back up at like half 6 and going for a long sunday of trialing hauling the F**kker outta bogs and schloopy, quick sand like mud from above the axles. Recovery works!! -
I'm still concerned that the tread depth may be non existant, making it go bald in no time. Like I said in the first post i'm buying blind on special order, so turning round and saying 'it's not what I thought it'd be like, I don't want it' is a bit rough. Could somone say about this please. Cheers.

I hadn't considered that angle. But my comment was only a mere observation. You probs know more in depth than me, like was said i am only a very passing armchair follower of leg shaving tarmaccers. I like the guy's public persona, just my comment was on how that seems to have up in smoke -
Bike Trials, How Has It Changed Your Life
CC12345678910 replied to trialskidy's topic in Trials Chat
this topic has made me realise, and i'm gonna be careful how this is phrased, has made me realise that we are a special group of people. From the comp heads to the adreneline nuts to the elitists to people treating confidence issues and aspergers like conditions to people who would or (this is me) can't imagine the very different place in the world they would be in and have a very different life. Im sure there are many other groups too in this huge melting pot we call trials and TF. Ciaran -
So the punchures will be no worse than the moto rt? Great! cos I've never pinched (at 45 pound it has got to be really rough to pinch, surely). Only random rubbish like glass, sharp metal, a staple (???) and a phantom slow the other night with a hole on inner middle of the rim and no reason whatsoever to be there. Now what about the tread profile, or lack of it as the case mabye? This is because the moto has lasted very well, got to have put it on around feb/march time and it it's got > 1 month worth of tread left at the mo. All the time doing loads of front wheel stuff down the park. Your comments are of course appriecated very much. Ciaran

This'll have to be quick cos i've got class in a minute. Need one for front of a fourplay. What are they like in wire bead cos LBS can order me one for £20. (Sight unseen unfortunately) How are they that light? Is is paper thin? I have problems with the moto rt tucking and folding on spins if the pressures not right. Don't want that any worse, can cope at the mo. Or have they got no tread profile at all like a XC racer tyre? Thanks loads. Ciaran

Trialtech And Procraft Obviously Tha Same Brand!?
CC12345678910 replied to FamilyBiker's topic in Trials Chat
Still true. I bought wellgo using google shopping for <£40 (can't remaember exactly), TT branded = £55 odd and try-all were even worse. All because you don't want people to go WTF?? WELLGO????? at you. It's logic like this that means peple don't wear a helmet on bmx/DJ and such (yet will wear pads n shinny's cos they can hide them under skinny's), vanity is also in the mix somewhere too. since I'm no oil painting anyway it don't bother me one bit. -
Sideways thought. these mabye? http://www.tartybike...c539p11115.html or www.rocknrollbikes.com/trials/forks/onza-zoot-pro-fork-for-24-wheel-ultra-light-pro-fork.html both sound viable options if I've read your post right

As I sit here chilling on college lunch break, I find it interesting that this topic was thought of whilst the lance armstrong thing Is all over the spot, the only reason it hit my radar is because it was almost headline news on telly. 7 recinded TDeF titles, a cancer comeback, charity wristbands, doping, nike dropping him and a bad taste in an entire sports mouth (for a few weeks anyway). That's all a life work and career has become. Rather lame intit? -
