this may explain the external lockring on Danny's old one I always assumed it was because the hub was wanted 'er, like, um, now?' Was is the thread ID and pitch then? I saw an ad in me dad's classicbike this month that says they do specialist taps and can source pretty much anything. Get the size please and I'll chase it up. Cheers -

What is the tap size for the cassette lockring? Finding that out has been my stopping point. My personal opinion is that I would have trimmed 1-2mm from the NDS so the DS wasn't so stubby. With 10mm thick Avid/Hope IS to PM adapters (tank), this could be notched out at the frame end and pose no difference in physical feeling. That's my guess anyway. BUT, you have greatly improved on danny's version. Soooo much tidier and using a bit more logical thinking. -
yes. but it isn't UV stable yet according to the moto programme I watched it on a couple of weeks ago. He (the powdercoat/anodizing wiz) said he was experimenting though...

the zoot can be built into pretty much whatever you damn well want, that's the beauty of the complete. Eg. like most £500-600 mtb's, the build, spec and geo are pretty middle of the road, emphasizing the above statement. I wouldn't of had any qualms about sending the one I had though a smooth 3-pack, nor did it kill me when I took it on a hack round the wood near my house It also started my learning down the park too. It all just depends on whether you wanna be d**k to it and go 6ft to flat constantly.

sorry i'm late on this one gaz, (seen yours before matty) only just watched now. Your camera screen doesn't do your sidehop bail justice! Full screen faceplant!! Don't know what you mean 'bout the music, i'm a big metaler and i didn't feel the need to turn it off. BTW 2.12 through 2.45 are Morecambe so is the big gap at 3.25, though the climing wall and the table line, are way past the battary/fountains up the heysham end. just for those wanting to know. -
my bad adam. my 5 year old memory of the Adam Read bike website is inferior to your good self. do you have every bike fact about every bike you've ever bought engrained on your eyeballs or something? in which case, how do you that??

And tensioners are not all that bad any way. the mk1 was designed with a 'K' hanger on purpose, meaning a hanger could be found pretty much anywhere. 'K's are used from anything (but not everything) from an apollo in hellfrauds to my T-rex (but fortunately not my mk2 fourplay, the custom inspired ones are much better) and your 4play and back again. I rode past an abandoned kids bike with one on last week, but left it cos it might have been little timmy's xmas presie. You'll be fine.

bugger. Cheers anyway. even searching for me as well. -
Believe these are fitted to my mates' uncles' old school orange patriot (2000 global racing special, worth a google). In which case the front one is fitted with a 180 and will stop a approx 13 to 14 kg bike and 12ish stone rider (me, sat down pedalling too) to a dead, nearly over the bars kinda stop from full speed in 20 feet or less. Me thinks you would be fine, if only for temporary brake.

I believe his point may have been that at 120mm, the mod to fit in a, er, mod, would be minimal, possibly even done with hand tools. Gonna re check that last statement now though. EDIT: no freehub body i don't think, shell looks one piece. scrap I said owt.

Pretty sure nothing tarty's sell is 'no good'. hence their rep. The m810's are the older model year and the m820's are the bang up to date ones.
-
nice to see you too rob. ha ha knew that'd wake you up

I have witnessed ali's wheelbuilds when I dropped in at tarty's. damn he's fast. He was building an entire batch of pro2 to Atomlabs for the skye full builds they were expecting to come in a few days later. Leg on the table, ankle in cast (tarty days fail), truing stand in his lap and doing someone else's 300odd pound wheel. Not the worst way to spend a rest day.

Chain enquiry.. KMC 510/610/HX... Motorcycle chains

not to be a dick but I tried to worn you. Big chain need Big chain tool. Ug. Put a new pin in and try again, it will work eventually, i promise. As for the split link, a bmx guy I mentioned earlier was in a hurry putting his tank on when he got it. Only half joined the clip bit you do up with pliers (Fail, i know). he rode 2-3 miles to the park and half a day of riding before i noticed and pointed it out to him. The clip was just hanging there and the chain wasn't going to budge any time soon. He hadn't even noticed... -

Forget you are a teeny-wheeler as well z510s are about £12 too much for the park rats in my town. If it can't be cobbled together outta 20 different chain pieces, in wont land on their bike. You should see the general state of rest of the bike too. Sight for sore eyes that is... My opinion of BMX has probably been tainted because a few locally are not my favorite people of this earth. You and your mates mark must be the upmarket ones. -
I'm probably not expressing what I mean 'bout the whole 'Good in theory' thing. can't think of an example (If someone else whats to wade in, fill your boots) Gonna leave this topic alone now as all this is academic anyways; It's hardly a production model at the moment, is it? :w00t: Ive have done. REPEATEDLY He usually says and I quote, 'I've got a stiky lite and a freeride tu... pssssssst, orrrh'

i've a TGS, inch hunter friend who had several puncture filled weekends last summer (what we had anyway). his PB was 13 separate instances, 2 or 3 tubes and god knows how many repairs. Thanks to the amount of glass, debris and other rubbish this worms its way into my holyrollers, I can go through tubes as well. Get a puncture with rear disc and In my 8-9 months of disc i found that the wheel would never back in the same place twice, meaning 10+mins of re-aligning the avid and a further 5+ mins of ever so carefully dragging the brake so as to not glaze the pads, making them worse than useless. This design would help with this and more time actually riding, not fettling. I'm not having a go at you here, it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. My opinion though, is that is a belting idea, it may not work in practice, or offer any additional value, but sideways thinking and inventions keep things fresh and moving when they work.

he'll need a fat spanner tool to fit that tank anyway... The mofo of chain tools to the mofo of chains... apt. -
the book tells you all that and has a troubleshooter to boot. Should point out that this book is not the be all and end all. they may be better out there and youtube has How to's for nowt but my mam is old school and found my copy in the local book shop. Paper is available anytime too and doesn't freeze or need to buffer. EDIT: Interestingly the bit i couldn't do beforehand was the lacing up. I could true, de-egg, tension from the ground up but couldn't lace. Aparantly lacing is the easy part (it is BTW, it's just patterns and repetition) but typically I learnt it backwards hehe.

oh deffo. By the 2nd, maybe 3rd beer you're on auto pilot and you're away!!

no no fella. your thinking of when a fork has no bridge piece. Pretty sure this one would flex for and back like any other, maybe kinda diagonal as well, depending on what you were doing. Thinking the rear end should have been a box section like the RC30 though. I'm going googling now, be back in a bit. EDIT: Like this. See how thick it has to be to make up for the S/Side swingarm. It should also be noted that honda design this to enable the wheel to be changed quicker since the chain tension stays the same and the disc is in the same place. the swingarm also weighs about the same as a conventional set-up Expand this to biketrials and it means that dropgap puncture is effortless to fix, one retaining nut, that's it. The chain and brake will be the same as before and the disc is now inboard so out of harms way. Right footers like me could do carefree sidehops. Mock all you want but i'm a convert, I think it's genius. Plus as a side note, you'd be able to pick out of any line up you liked.

BMXers have told me that it (read this bit in your best moany, whiny, high pitched, taking the piss, girl voice) broke their pathetic and sh*t excuse for 'drivers', because it stayed together where a BMX standard, godawful chain (usually a half link jobby) would snap, taking the brunt, They were also blamed for breaking what they call a sprocket. Once a whinge like that got hold, I believe sales went south and us lot were ignored/didn't exist. Nice. proper PC that. eeee -
don't think so, look closer
