If you look on tarty in the brake pads section each brake pad states what kind of performance it can be used for.

They originally came off of my old ddg so i put them on but am gonna ride them till they snap. then upgrade to some urbans.

That is lush put some either the white or black inspired decals on it then it will give it that lush look.

If your looking for something with a bit of d/h,freeride and cross country. id advise the 2007 mongoose teocali elite which retail at £1299.00 new. I my self have one and love it beautiful spec to it deore lx gears except the rear mech is an xt. Hayes nines front and rear. Rock Shox pikes mega uber bouncy and adjustable lockout which have 5" travel i think. The rear shock is a rockshoz one which is pretty swish. Over all i love the bike and have used for mainly cross country and downhill in dalby forest and coed langel or what ever its called in whales.

My advice is to update yourself with a proper geometry frame id push your limit to £300 at most if you wish to? Because at £300 you could buy your self a echo,gu,czar,adamant,zoo and loads more. First of all what kind of riding do you do either street or natty? Oviously you'll need to work out what geo frame you need i my self am 5ft 8" and am riding a echo pure with 1075 length and 20mm b/b rise. But whats your height?. Theres loads to decide when upgrading parts on your bike and swapping over. Such as high or low frames. Best bet possibly is to go on group rides and go on other peoples bikes just to get the general idea of them. Id advise you to just swap frames at the moment depending on what spec your planet x is.
