Possibly the first group ride for us lot due to weather n other commitments. Me , mikey and ricky are going to be out.. maybe a couple of others who we regularly ride with.. Were meeting at 11am at the high rise flats. Its free parking on a sunday on single yellow lines and also side streets. More the merrier Andy x

After watching this it made me cringe like hell they tests they was doing. Carbon is stronger than i expected.. Only minor i have ever found with carbon. I have some trialtech carbon singlespeed spacers had them 2-3 years now they were great until one of them being a thin one decided to split/snap the other week from tightening my lock ring. As daft as it sounds but is there different grades of carbon out in production? It would be interesting if koxx/try-all did a test video on there carbon products. I was thinking about carbon bars the other day for the Ozonys.

You are aware that Yao Zhi(Owner of Zhi). Did use to ride for Echo/Zoo many years ago have you ever thought why the designs and outcomes are similar? Zhi stuff seems to be cheaper and better value for money compared to deng stuff. On another note.. sweet looking bike. The zhi's seem to be getting quite popular now for the value of money. Shame there is no importer/dealer in this country -.-

Not exactly it was just a thing we did back in 2003... Plus i want the power of a v back again to get the jist and feel of how they perform.

Thanks for the advice... I'll keep it in mind.. I wanted to give a break from maguras and route back to the old braking style of v-brakes on a smooth rim with coke ;-). I thought about new clamps the echo washerless design. My current magura at the mo is about had it.... slaves are battered to sh*t, stripped thread in lever body to hold lever blade, lazy as hell piston... i can't be bothered to be fair man haha.. i know it sounds strange. i just wanted to go back to the feel of a v-brake where less maintenance is involved. All you need is a good set up a decent stainless steel cable and noodle n away you go... Plus with the amount of debt am in i need to resolve my problem soon... Doesn't help when i have a bill of £780 to pay by end of next month. So budget is a problem....

Looks good Dan! I think some urbans or inspired forks would finish it of nicely . Would be interesting to see how it rides with the modern bar n stem combo you are running. Ride soon me love?

i would not bother mate. Juicy's seem to be the worst for maintanence and performance . Save your money that bit extra and get some hopes or a bb7 ;-)

Just a quickie? Why would you wanna bleed your brake with water? Surely it is daft as water does expand which can affect the performance of your brake i.e. slow pistons n lever pull.. Where as mineral oil does not.

So after many years of using magura hs33's i wanna go back to the type of braking i had on my old onza t-vee from 2003 which run on dual avid v-brakes... Can anyone remember what model of avids they were? Im getting annoyed with the maintenance and setting up with maguras. Plus my old v-brake set up was pretty mint. Smooth rim with coke or tar worked amazing . My main concern is what would the spacing of the v calliper be like to the cranks? I am running a 128mm trialtech b.b Trialtech sport forged cranks 38mm wide alex rim. I am also thinking of getting the v-brake adaptors for 4bolt frames and the onza magura hs33 pad adaptors so i can run my heatsink yellows for this set up. Advice for a good v-brake set up would be great. I am mainly wanting to stick to the avid brand and a good mid range price. Andy
