I managed to ride to Mordor one time.
-
It involved machining down the axle and freehub from what i can remember. Does anyone know if tarty adam did one? Im sure he was another.
-
Danny Swindlehurst did it.. It took some modifying from remembering the topic from years ago.
-
You'd make more money on splitting it trust me to say you have burn arms, king headset, hope hubs n other immaculate parts . Id kill to have that rear rim of you if it was 36h!
-
Safe.... glad its free parking.. especially to say its a busy city. Chandlerr yeah! Anymore for this? Will be bringing my camera hopefully make a group video
-
Yes 29ers! i think that is what ill invest in next to my collection. Care to share the spec? Whilst were on topic heres a pic of my recent full suss after i did a frame swap last week

Havent rode leeds since last summer wouldn't mind riding it on that date as i finish uni for summer that week. Am thinking of driving up this time can't be bothered with the hassle of trains etc. 1st thing where is easy to park n close to granite walls at a reasonable fee for parking? Hopefully me, ricky, mikey, mark and dave from Scunthorpe will be going. Anyone care to join? I know its ages away.. lets make a big ride of it yeah?? Andy

Who is Guillermo Marin you speak of?

How about something like this its still a hybrid its one of scotts top end models the sporter 10 comes with schwalbe nobbily tyres which would be suited for off road and you'd still get full road use. Its got the mountain bike look with the frame, forks, hydraulic discs etc just your 28" wheels with narrow tyres if your looking mainly doing off road n want more power n speed then id advise a 29er
-
Yes maximum width tyres you can get for a hybrid bike is 40c ( racer tyres run on 23c) in width. Schwalbe do a nice range of tyres for all types of riding you could go for a semi slick tyre with kevlar beaded so you could do on road riding and light bit of off road riding. Its like with the craze of the 29" wheel scene at the moment technically they run on 28" rims the extra inch is from the sidewall of the tyre. so you could even go 29er too with a semi slick tyre if you wanted the beefyness of a 2.10-2.35 width. and for your last question yes they are not very good for soft surfaces.. stick to solid concrete or tarmac roads you don;t want to risk getting a puncture or slit.

Yeah pretty much hybrid bikes are like a jack of all trades and they give you that extra push for pedalling and so much comfortable. Where as say if you rode a MTB on the road you would not get the distance or speed compared to the hybrid ad the bigger wheels and narrow tyres help a lot. So yeah theres a lot of brands out there who offer some nice hybrid bikes such as Scott, GT, Ghost, Forme, Claud Butler and many more.

You could go for a hybrid bike. something like this it still has the same size wheels as a racer the tyres are a tad wider in width but you could change them on a later date plus if you have never rode a racer bike before with the drop low bars this is an ideal to start on with the flat bars to build your power and fitness before you take it seriously. Its a scott sportster 60 which is only £379 we sell them at the shop i work at very nice light weight bike for the money they also offer high spec models of this bike with different parts such as lock out suspension and hydraulic discs and different specs to cater for different budgets and they go upto £1000. Plus with the scott sporster 40 say for example with the suspension it comes with semi slick tyres so the bike can be used for off road and light bits of off road if you enjoy going down gravel lanes etc

It wouldn't surprise me if majority of frames and parts were all made in the same factory like majority of other stuff out there. Word has it suntour n rockshox forks are done in the same factory. It looks nice am really liking the orange maguras! Andy

In my oppinion... None. They have all failed at something.. This is just my oppinion and experience from what i have come across from what i have used over the years. 04 shape the tpa's use to die quickly and the leverbodys would crack from being tightened to a certain pressure 05 shape- the thread in the lever body for where the leverblade n bolt would go the threads were common for stripping. also i use to get the odd tpa wheel that would seize. I've even heard a few negative things about the new maggies leaking and being a pain to bleed.

They are not bad... I use to run them on my old pure 06.5 with running a 47mm try-all rim and found it hard to get a good brake set up until i discovered the tensiles which were perfect. Its for those with either skinny or fat rims who struggle to get a good brake set up. Andy

Nice vid tom.. Where is 2:55? Have to get a ride sorted soon ain't seen you guys in ages. Is there ever any night rides in donny? Wouldn't mind a night ride one night after uni if anyone is ever about? Cheers Andy

You suit stock very well. Now all you have to do is sell your mod Nice vid look forward to seeing more Andy

Forks ( Curved or different straight blade forks) Height of stackers Bars Stem 175mm cranks ( or cranks with a bigger offset) Wider Axle b.b Frames. They are the most common things to change on the bike to give it a different feel whether you wanted it longer or to have a different height/angle/ rise etc.. All you can really do is experiment by changing bit by bit instead of buying every single one of those parts i mentioned ( minus frame) to see if it makes any difference. Andy
